This is my second pair of Montrail thongs. I was so sad when I lost the 1st pair. The straps on this pairs seem bigger so my foot moves around more which isn't good.

I have bought these sandals for years. Recently there has been a change. The fit varies by color. Yes, I know how odd that sounds. Some will have a very short piece that goes between your toes, some will have very long straps that makes them hard to walk in. I've been buying the greens. Currently I am hoarding 5 pair of them. If you're going to try these sandals, buy all of the colors, return the ones that don't fit. I think I'll order up some more greens. If the sandal fits, they are foot heaven. After three foot surgeries it's the only sandal my feet will tolerate.

I had a pair of these several years ago and they worked out very well - I agree with the other reviewers. Unfortunately, I have chronic back issues that come and go and while these do mold to your feet I actually need a stiffer footbed. After wearing for just an hour my back was killing me. If you do not have back issues and only foot issues, give these a try. Also, no need to bake - the flip flops are comfy out of the box and will mold to your feet without baking them in no time. If you do not want your heel right to the very edge where it feels like you may fall out of them, order up one size. These are not dainty looking flip flops but they do look great on your feet. Wish these would have worked for me. Getting older is fun.

There is no doubt that these shoes are comfortable, provide good support for your feet, and I have 4 pairs of them: 2 for outside and 2 for inside. However, the last ones I bought were the grey ones with a non-noticeable chartreuse trim and they mark my floors. The plain black ones I've had and the blue ones never did this. What has changed about the composition of this particular sole?

Colors are cute, but the straps feel narrow. The sole is wider and longer than my foot - they would look better if they weren't. Excellent arch support and soft, comfortable sole.

Absolutely loved this sandal. Everything about it was wonderful, loved the way the sole hugged and fit my foot, color great, toe strap comfy, except straps way too long, made shoe very loose for walking. Didn't want to return them so bad tried to think of ways to take up extra length in straps - to no avail. Montrail can you make a sandal just like this for a narrower foot?

Oh! How I wished these would have worked! Even with a narrow foot - the sandal would have worked - but the straps were just too loose on the 9 and the straps were good on the 8 but needed a bit more length for my foot. It is just that I have a relatively "thin" foot and they would have just been too floppy. But - wow - felt like standing on a cloud! Kudos to those of you who can wear them - I know your feet are smiling! And of course, thanks to Zappos - I am still on my search for a great summer sandal.

The footbed is very well padded and comfortable, but the strap between the toes rubs and is uncomfortable after wearing it awhile. I only wear sandals with the strap between my toes, so it is not due to the newness of this strap. It's not a stylish shoe, rather boxy, and if the strap didn't rub, I'd give it 5 stars for comfort. Other people may not have this problem.

I love the arch and the footbed is great but the sole of the shoe doesn't correspond properly to the shoe size. I generally wear an 8 wide in a sandal or 8 1/2 in sneakers. This sandal in an 8 fits perfect. I don't overhang the back or front. The problem is that the strap between the toes seems to be 1/4 inch too short and set back a touch to far in the sole. If I jump up to a 9, there is a huge vacant area of sole in the toe area about an inch and also room in the back! Seems like a huge difference in 1 shoe size.

Nice and, yes, very comfortable, although didn't wear in hot weather, so unsure whether man-made material of shoe bed makes feet sweat. I wonder... Be warned, shoe runs large. Recommend at least a half size down. I was swimming in my normal size, with a good 1/4 inches between foot and thong.

The width at the toes could be a bit wider, the arch is a perfect fit, the heel is not too big. Heating them did help give a bit more room at the toes so they did not hang over the shoe. I wish they could have a little more detail with some sparkle or light reflecting detail to make them a little more girly looking.

I love the comfort of the footbed. Unbelievable support and cushion, just what I need for my plantar fasciitis. The only thing I do not like is that the straps are too loose. I kept the shoes because they are so comfy, but I am unhappy with the top straps which seem to be made for people with fat feet. I'd rather these be tight and then I could get them stretched, but since they are so loose there is nothing I can do about that. So, I kept them because of one reason, but am not 100% satisfied. I will say that today I wore them all day, and this is the first day in months that my feet are not sore. What a miracle!

This may actually be the most comfortable shoe I have ever tried. It really is like walking on clouds. I have plantar fasciitis and I alternate these with my Orthaheel shoes. They both do different things for my condition - these offer more cushion and comfort, but the Othaheels seem more designed for my condition and the support for the plantar fasciitis. I felt they run a little big, because if your heel is not exactly in the cup at the back then you are not lined up for the best support in the rest of the shoe. This was much better after I did the oven thing. I am ordering a size down as well to see if it makes a difference. I intend to use these as slippers at home since I can no longer ever be barefooted. They are a bit bulky, but I ordered the blue/yellow ones and they look sporty if not cute.

The women's montrail molokini has good arch support for a flipflop. However I'm between sizes, and the 8 is just a bit too short so my heel doesn't fit right, and a little too narrow. The 9 is a little too long but my foot fits in the 9 better. However the straps on the 9 fit too loosely, which is odd since I have a very high instep. If you need an 8 1/2 like I do, you just might be between sizes here. I'm returning the 8's and deciding if I can wear the 9's. It's a good flip-flop if you can manage to fit into it.

I was concerned about wearing flip flops all summer because of the general lack of support. These Molokinis offer a better feeling of support and a good arch support.

The Orthaheels and these arrived on the same day and so I was able to do a great comparison of the two. The Montrails by far were more comfortable and with more arch support. I am usually a 10 1/2 or 11, and pretty narrow foot. The 11s are too big, and because they are such wide shoes, they don't look too pretty. I kept them, however, because they are so comfortable and because just out of my walking boot for plantar fasciitis, really needed something to wear around right away. Truly, you cannot beat the firm arch support with such a cushy shoe, but they do look a little like boats.

This is my third purchase of these flip flops because I really like them. My only complaint is that they've changed the styling a bit, so that the strap between the toes is a bit bulky.
The mold-to-fit feature is great, and provides an extremely comfortable sandal.

If you have plantar fasciitis, these are as comfortable a flip-flop as you are going to find. However, the footbed does not hold it\'s shape over time and does lose support. I wore them daily for about 6 weeks. They were very comfortable, but at about the 6-week mark, I needed a new pair.

These are comfortable and reasonably supportive, which is what I wanted. I did follow the instructions to heat and custom-mold them to my feet. The molding process didn't seem to make much difference to the shoe itself, but who knows? I like to follow instructions. They are not the most delicate shoe, appearance-wise, but you can't have everything.

This is a very comfortable sandal. It is true to size, however, the instep is a little high. I don't think that heat molding it to your foot has that much of an impact on the overall fit. I am trying to get used to the squeaking noise they make when walking on hardwood floors. I definitely cannot sneak up on anyone. They are not very stylish and definitely a beach sandal.

I tried these shoes because I had been searching for comfortable shoes in the middle of a plantar fascitiis flare. They seemed very comfortable and I was impressed. Unfortunately, as anyone with plantar fascitiis knows, shoes must hit, or not hit your foot in just the right way. After wearing them for several hours, though the arch support was fantastic, the heel pain reoccurred. This was not all bad as at the time I found NO SHOES other than these whatsoever to give any comfort for any length of time. With more healing (pun intended) I can switch back to these shoes. I find switching between tolerable shoes helps my feet heal. In general these Molokini’s are great and worth a try for anyone with any foot problems or just wanting extreme comfort.

This is my second pair but probably not my last. I like the arch support you get from this shoe by heating it in the oven. They have changed the fabric of the thong between the toes and this second pair is not as immediately comfortable as my first pair. I'm hoping they'll soften with wear.

Montrail Review -
I purchased these for my wife and she loves them. First time we had ever put shoes in the oven to set the feel of the shoe to her foot but it works and she might be ordering another pair in another color. She was having back and knee problems and these seem to help!

Good, comfy flip flop, wider than stated width -
I really like this flip flop, its comfortable right out of the box and I've worn it a lot. It's sporty looking. I bought this w/ some concern b/c it's described as a "B" width and I have wide feet. It seems slightly wider than a B and it fits great. Maybe not the right fit for those w/ narrow feet, but average to slightly wide widths will find this to be a good sporty flip flop. I plan on buying another pair for the summer.
