I am a true size 8 and they are a true 8 1/2 consequently they are not as comfortable as expected.

Bottom too slippery.

These were way too big and wide for me. The sole also felt very stiff. Unfortunately, I am returning. I used to have a similar style and I loved those shoes. I wore them for years, fixed minor tears but by now I definitely need a new pair.

Got these cause I love the original footbed and these have great reviews, however my foot sits much deeper in these and they have a more pronounced lip around the foot that isn’t comfortable when my foot slides over it. The depth also creates a vacuum and makes crude sounds when you walk around unless socks are involved. Returning for the originals.

a little large

I ordered the 5.5 narrow which should have fit perfectly but it still seemed wide. The straps would have made it fit but my middle toe was too long for the shoe somehow.

The shoe was too wide for my 82 year old husband's foot. I have heard that we loose padding (fat?) in the soles of our feet as we age so the sole was a bit to hard for him as well. I will continue my search for the correct slip-on shoe for him.

These shoes were a replacement to some older ones I have had for quite a long time. They still fit the same as always...true to size and very supportive. The footbed breaks in easily so they’re very comfortable. My only complaint, and the reason I’m sending them back, is they now use bonded leather for the uppers. It’s a very thin leather that’s bonded to a synthetic material. I’ve opted to hang on to my old ones and have them re-soled. I’ve never been a fan of changes...when talking about classics. Too bad...I’m sad.

Length and width were true to size. My problem with the Birkenstock is the firm footbed and high arch. My feet flex flat when I walk and the arch in the Birkenstock is too hard and was very painful. I love the style and sadly had to return the shoes.

They fit much larger than my old pair which was the same size. Disappointed that I could not get a mans with three or four straps instead of two large ones. Not as comfortable as my old ones.

I thought I treat myself to this item though after receiving my order I felt I’d have to return it as it took awhile to break in and adjust to. It felt like a dull hard surface overall and started to hurt on one foot. However, At first the sole material on my feet felt hard as of now it is fine and I’ve decided to keep this item leaving this to be my last purchase of this particular brand.

I love the easy casual look however these shoes were painful on my high arches. They felt awkward and wide.

Was not satisfied with purchase sandals seemed used.

Always wanted a pair but had to return!I was so excited to receive..Minute I put them on I noticed my feet fit so strangely awkward. I follow the charts so I really don't think if I went up or down to size it would make a difference the sandal hits my arch in a weird way it's very uncomfortable and I couldn't even walk in them. I felt like I was walking on big rocks. I have always wanted a pair but these aren't for my feet. Sorry had to return.

The sandals fit great and the leather replacement looks and feels like real leather so for ~$50 less it is a deal. Only issue I have is when wearing without socks the edges rub my foot, problem of having wide feet.

I know I am bucking the trend here but I did not find these comfortable to walk in. When I placed my foot on the footbed the arch support felt good but as soon as I walked around in them my foot would slide around a bit and be off the mark with the arch support and hence they became uncomfortable. I am a true size 8 foot and tried both a 38 and 39 and still I found that I had to spend too much time trying to keep my foot positioned in the shoe. Didn't work for me, but everyone else here doesn't seem to have a problem with them so go figure.

The description says the narrow will support both narrow and regular width. We purchased the brown in the regular width and the black in the narrow because the regular wasn’t available. The brown was perfect, just like the other pairs of Birkenstocks my daughter has. The black, in the narrow, looked too small on her feet. We double checked the size and made the size was correct but the narrow fit was not a good option for her.

I ordered the regular width rather than the narrow. While the fit is okay now, I've had to buckle at the last notch. But given that over time the material will stretch some, i'm sure these are going to end up being too large, especially in the width which will cause your foot to slide forward a lot more. The material is okay. While it obviously isn't leather, the straps look more plastic than anything. Slightly disappointed with that aspect. This is my fourth pair of Birks, and overall i'm pleased, with the brand, just not so much with this pair.

The fit of these sandals is infuriating. I’m a 5.5 shoe and these were huge on me. Going to kids sizes next.

They were way to big.

I really like Birkenstock sandals. And I read everything about the “narrow” width being adequate in lieu of medium. I did not find these particular sandals to follow those specs. They were very narrow, and I also found the footbed to be very hard and unforgiving. My feet aren’t flat as a board but I don’t have a very high arch either. Between the hard footbed and high arch I couldn’t wear them longer than 15-20 minutes. All that being said, I plan on buying a different pair, different “model” to see if these negatives apply to all their sandals.

Not comfortable for my feet. The sole was not flexible at all, and the arch support was too much. It felt like I was walking on tennis balls.

The size was way too big.

OK now I understand - the "Birko-flor" is actually the upper/ the straps. It means there's a thin slice of leather covering a felt-like product; not the all leather thick straps like on other Birkenstocks. And this footbed (yellow print) is different with a wider toe area and a prominent ridge by the toes, both of which were uncomfortable compared to the "soft footed" found on other Arizona Birks, including other brown ones, which have blue print. These are going back, and we're ordering the solid leather straps and blue print/narrower softer footbed...

These are the most comfortable sandals in the entire world but they look a bit clownish.
