I thought if you are going to sacrifice style, these would be the most comfortable shoes ever. Unfortunately they weren't. Maybe as time goes on, they will get less stiff. But right now, I prefer to wear my gym shoes for comfort or go barefoot. Not only is the bottom stiff but the sides where your little toe rubs against are very rough too.
I will add to my review if they get better over time.

Perfect for holiday gift, my husband loves it and wear it everyday because of the comfort.

Writing this review for other small footed women who are having a hard time with the sizing.
I am a true size 5 regular in just about every shoe brand. Zappos sizing says a 36 fits a 5, this is not true. Order a 35 narrow.

I'm a huge Birkenstock fan. I've previously owned the Mayari style and the Gizeh styles. This is my first time owning the Arizona style. I'm happy with these sandals, but not as happy as I've been with the other styles I've owned. Why? My feet tend to slide around much more in this style when compared to the other styles with toe loops.

I knew these would be comfortable, just because of their reputation being so good. They took a while to get used to, and I am still adjusting. I guess I have longer toes than most of the population, because my toes did (and still do) hit the edge of the shoe. Overall, I think they will last me a very long time and become more comfortable with each wear. They aren't the most stylish shoes, also not the least stylish, but if you like the rugged nature-y style, they are perfect.

I have been getting this style/brand every other year. I love them. I wear them all summer, they are kind of ugly, but comfortable. So for me that is all I am looking for in a sandal. Even though I wear these pretty much exclusively in the summer, I am disappointed in how long they last. These do not last me many years, or even two seasons. Which for the price and brand, honestly I would expect them to last longer. And every year, they go up in price. I will have to start looking for an alternative. For the price, I wish they would last longer.

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks. I really like the faux leather and how the matte finish of the buckle looks more sophisticated than the shiny metal buckle on the real leather ones. While I appreciate the quality of real leather, the matte buckle swayed me towards this pair. I do not find the shoe comfortable right off the bat...and the thickness of the sole makes it harder for me to drive while wearing them. But I am hopeful about breaking them in eventually. Zappos was amazing: fast delivery, no product defects, thank you for free shipping all the time. It makes me want to shop only Zappos all the time! Yay.

This is my 4th pair of Birkenstocks, and the first of this none leather, and all the others were made in the plant that burned down. These seem to be slightly smaller, but are a perfect fit (the others are same size 41, but just a little more extra space. Feel good. I used a sealant spray and it darkened the surface, which I prefer not to have happened, and like the lighter foot bed, but it was my choice to do this. I've used the same sealant spray on my others, and never had this darkening problem. I assume it is because of the non-suede construction. I don't remember being warned of this, but wouldn't have done it, had I known the consequences.

Very nice. The fit is actually better than the other three Arizona I have. One I got in about 1990 and is well aged, and all leather and cork, and has had 2 bottoms. The other is the same leather top and about 5 years old and the other (time is forgotten) was one of the last from the plant before the fire. I haven't had the vegan style before, and I used a spray to waterproof them, and it darkened the footpad. It didn't do that to the leather. I wasn't warned about that. Otherwise, they are great. I would like it if Birk's had a little more metatarsal support. I've started wearing socks to add more arch support because that's become an issue, and I wish I was warned (maybe I was) that using a protection would darken the surfaces.

These are standard hard soled Birkenstocks. The Birko-Flor is not leather but it still feels great, looks good, and if you want to save a few bucks is a solid option. The black paint on the buckles chips faster than I would like if you get a color with black buckles. Still great Birkenstock comfort once broken in.

These are well-built, sturdy, and comfortable shoes. I like the Birko-Flor because it is cheaper than the real leather, does not stain, and is a bit more waterproof. I had no problems breaking the shoes in. They are molding to my feet after a few weeks, and I never had to deal with chafing or blisters. For me, these shoes did not run true to size. I wear a women's 8, which prompted me to order a size 38 at first. They were still too large! Zappos customer service was amazing and helped me get the right size (37) without too much fuss. If you are able, spend some time trying these shoes on in a store before ordering them from Zappos.

I wear these constantly, indoors, and they are comfortable and supportive. My only caveat is that the synthetic uppers got little tears in them after 3 years constant wear. My last pair was made with birkibuc, so I'm hoping the birko-flor holds up better.

Unfortunately have a very narrow foot. By the time I adjusted the straps they were practically on the floor. Too much adjustment for me otherwise a great sandal.

The Zappos system is phenomenal and I am very satisfied. This is my first pair of Birkenstock. The fit is very good but I didn't find I needed an extended breaking in time because of the insole. I am now happy with my shoes. I like the adjustable width on the Arizona.

Flor-licious!
As a long time Birkenstock wearer, I really want to support and purchase Birki-Flor products, as I try to live a more animal-free lifestyle. They're nice, retain their color well, and are very functional. Because of the "roughness" of material, you do develop almost a callous or rub line along the top of your foot where the sandal hits.

Very disappointing. Bought as a gift and shoes came in a plastic bag with no box. Recipient thought they had just been gifted a used pair of shoes. It was embarrassing

I have never worn a wide fit shoe of any brand, but apparently I need a wide Birk. I ordered Regular, and it is WAY too narrow for me to wear. Sadly these have to go back.

How sad that those of us who are a true women's size 5 can no longer find shoes that fit. Even Birkenstock - size 35, is actually a women's size 6. And now their size 34 is a children's shoe - lighter weight, narrow, flimsy. Can the company no longer make a true size 5 for those of us with smaller feet?

The 41 was better in length than the 40 but too wide in the 41, the box says narrow but I really wonder if the shoe that was sent is? Maybe just going up that one size makes them wider. Also, still not sold on the Birks, I have been wearing off/on in the house for 3 days and my knees hurt. Did some research and typically when this happens the shoe is not right for your feet or gait. Maybe sometime I will try the softer footbed. Until then, will continue my search for a comfortable, supportive, cute sandal.
