Birkenstocks to the Rescue! I suffer from extreme pain in my right heel. Birkenstocks are the only shoes I can wear. Guess it is the all around construction of the shoe that gives me such relief from the pain. They simply make my feet feel good all day. My grown children have worn them for years and suggested that I give them a try. My daughter's foot doc gave her a thumbs up on Birkenstocks. The soft sole is a plus.

Birkenstock Milano Soft Footbed--A Winner - I work on concrete and have foot problems. Birkenstock Soft Footbed shoes and a few New Balance are the only shoes I can wear without pain. I tried the original footbed but didn't have any luck with it. I hope Birkenstock will introduce some additional colors and smooth leathers and styles into the soft footbed shoes. I had sizing problems with the first pair of Birks that I bought, but now I know which size is best for me. I have found no other shoes that have the arch support of Birkenstock shoes.

Birkenstock Milano Soft - Bought these as a Christmas gift for my mother and she loves them. This is her first Birkenstock and she thinks they are so comfortable!! Love the strap around heel...

True to Birkenstock form the sandals were comfy right from day one. No disappointments. Always the sandals I grab if I know walking long distances is the order of the day.

Birkenstock Milano Soft - I have very difficult and troubled feet and when it comes to shoes it is like Mission Impossible. This shoe gives good support especially the arch. With the suede, you may need to tighten the buckles in time, but the give is what makes them fit so well. I like this shoe a lot, but wish Birkenstock would make straps with Velcro like Ecco and Mephisto.

Soft footbed is excellent - I'm a longtime Birk wearer, but this is the first pair I’ve bought with the soft footbed. It's pretty darn comfy.

Milano Soft Footbed - Soft footbed is much more comfortable than the standard Birkenstock. My hip and knee joints tend to stiffen up a bit when I wear Birkenstocks since the bottom of the shoe is not as springy as tennis shoes. Great arch support, one of the few shoes that doesn't irritate the neuroma in my left foot. Nice leather. Pretty color.

I LOVE THESE SANDALS - Great shoe! I wear them everywhere and you will also. Very comfortable, true to size, and the Soft Footbed is great on my feet.

Most comfortable and best-looking sandals I owned - This Birkenstock sandal fits me perfectly and the most comfortable ones I ever bought... on top of this, the Customer Service @ Zappos is one of the best I have ever encountered. Thank you Zappos!!

Miracle shoe for post-op condition. I am praising this shoe as the best Birkenstock I have had. I found the soft sole aided in bringing my right toes in balance. I had reconstructive surgery of all 5 toes 18 mo. ago. I was in agony with touch or pressure to the right great toe. I am able to position my toes using the toe grip with a loose strap. No pain. The arch supports are great and I have reduced the pain in my left knee since wearing them. I have several other Birkenstocks from years ago. I have 2 other soft sole sandals, but this one seems to have improved over the past ones. I think the strap is a great aide for security for anyone who gets in a rush. Strap is adjustable for an EE width at the toes. I feel like living again. I need to order another pair soon.

Very comfortable shoe. I bought these for my son. He said that they feel very nice for walking and are the most comfortable shoes that he has had.

I love my new sandals - I wore them in Hawaii for 10 days and they were perfect.

Great shoes - I love the Milano Soft footbed, I can't wait to go home to put on these shoes, I wear them with everything, and they feel safe in my foot and look great. It feels true to size although is a little bit too wide for my taste, but overall they're great, I'd buy more Birkenstocks in a heartbeat! Love Zappos, excellent service, I will keep buying from them.

Soft footbed - Although this is not what is usually thought of as a soft footbed, this is the shoe you want to get your feet used to Birkenstocks. Especially great if you have "older feet".

Birk's new softbed - Having worn Birkenstocks for 9 years, I was happy to see the new softbed advertised. After checking with my local shoe store and finding that they didn't carry the Milano (my favorite) with the softbed, I ordered from Zappos. As always, Zappos had my size, color, and style and delivered it in 2 days. What service!! And the softbed is everything that was advertised - can't wait till warmer weather to try the shoes without socks. And thank you, Zappos, for superior service.

This shoe is wonderful for walking. The arch support molds to my feet and supports them comfortably. I ordered regular width because it is supposed to be wide width in women's, but it's not a true wide with -it's about the same as a regular width Mephisto sandal. And I should also mention that the heel is very narrow, which works great for me. The straps are soft leather, but are wide and heavy and can be uncomfortable at times; however, I'm sure more breaking-in will fix this as it has with my previous Milano’s. I love the cushioning in this shoe because I hardly notice it. Not too hard not too soft.

The bottom sole too hard for knees with bad arthritis - I have really bad arthritis with my knees, and the bottom sole of these shoes are a bit too rigid when hitting the ground. I am sure for most of healthy normal people, this is not a problem at all, because the top of the sole where your feet touch down are soft. But for my poor knees, softness of the top sole is not enough to absorb the shock. Otherwise, these are wonderful shoes with no doubt. The benefit of hard bottom sole is that the shoes will last longer. Just be careful if you have sick knees... I found Ecco/Keen sandals have much softer bottom soles for me.

The most comfort after surgery - When I ordered my Birkenstocks, first I ordered the hard bed and they weren't comfortable for me. I followed the very easy directions to send them back and ordered the Milano's with the soft bed. Everyone I dealt with was so helpful--what a wonderful company. I received my shoes very quickly too--less than a week after ordering. I just had surgery on both my big toes and needed to wear sandals and these shoes were so comfortable--I know I will be wearing them for a long time and will gladly order from Zappos "The peoples store" again.

The Milano is the only shoe I was able to wear while recovering from foot surgery. Not only because it was fully expandable during my foot's various stages of swelling, but because it totally and gently supported my foot. Superb arch support and the soft footbed is a dream. I only wish the soft footbed was more available, both in other styles and in other colors.

Great looks and comfort - Love these sandals! A well fitting and good looking sandal made even more comfortable with the soft footbed.

Wore them the first day - I love the Milano soft footbed almost as much as the cookies with the same name. They both make me feel good, each in its own way.

I can't believe I waited so long - To buy a pair of Birkenstocks! These are comfortable, cool, don't make my arthritic knees hurt . . . my only [tiny] complaint is that my little toes tend to rub the rim on the sides. That's okay, though, because I intend to wear them with socks this winter and by next spring the rim should be worn down enough to be comfortable.

Soft Footbed Makes a Great Shoe Even Better - I needed a new pair of Birkenstock Milano sandals because my dog chewed up the straps on my pair, so I ordered these. I loved my old pair, but the soft footbed is awesome. They felt comfortable right out of the box. I would recommend keeping the straps a little loose. Another review recommended that and it was good advice. I am normally a size 5 (US) but I ordered size 35 (European), which is a size 4 - 4.5 (US) and that was just right. The shoes look great and from my experience with my old pair, extremely sturdy (but not against dog chewing!). Zappos service was excellent as well. I'm a very happy customer.

Most comfortable Birkenstocks ever! This is the first pair of soft-footbed Birks I have tried and I'm sold! They are not too soft and not too hard -- just perfect. I feel like I'm walking on a supportive, healthy cloud. I've worn Birks before and they are the shoes I turn to when my feet are feeling tired or like they haven't had enough arch support, but these are an extra treat! Hopefully Birkenstock will offer the soft footbed in even more styles.

Great Shoes - I absolutely love the comfort & flexibility of the soft footbed of these sandals. These shoes can be worn all day without any discomfort.
