Fabulous athletic shoes, and MADE in the USA - Being made in the USA really does make a difference in so many ways. What is apparent about this shoe is the quality with which it was built. It's a roomy comfortable fit, and can easily be worn for a fully day of walking.

Really solid shoe - I really love these shoes. I needed something with a little more stability and cushioning to wear while I'm pregnant, and these are perfect! Very comfortable, solidly made, and stable. Can be worn for running, or casually. Just a very comfortable shoe. This is my first New Balance shoe, and I will be a lifelong fan.

The New Balance W992 - I've been wearing this shoe for a month and I find them comfortable, supportive and attractive.

Awesome! Have only used these for street use, not working out, but so far so good. They look cute and require no breaking in. The soles are not cushiony, though, so I might slip in insoles.

My podiatrist recommended these as a walking shoe, and I have been very pleased. Good for people with low arches and weak ankles.

992 is the ultimate - Have worn the 991 for years, but the 992 is even better. I think it's the ultimate in a good walking, everyday shoe. Even better than the shoe is Zappos service! Everything about Zappos is top-notch, from website to customer service. Hard to believe a company exists like this today! I have recommended Zappos to many friends and will continue to be a loyal customer.

Nifty New Balance - This is my second pair. I have plantar fasciitis and painful arthritis in my left foot. These shoes provide the stability I need to keep my feet from rolling around. I like the removable insole so I can use my orthotics. I like all the reflectors (front and back) that help when I walk at night.

I needed to change the size of my sneakers to accommodate orthotics. The professionals all recommended New Balance as their first choice, so I bought this pair, based on their recommendation; but, as I have learned the hard way, they just DO NOT fit my feet properly. (I have tried New Balance in the past, and gotten the same results.) I also bought a pair of Saucony sneakers, the brand I always buy. They are working perfectly with the orthotics, and are comfortable! This purchase was a mistake, but only mine for not listening and trusting my intuition. Saucony was not even mentioned by the orthotists.

Amazing Long-Lasting Comfort! I absolutely love these shoes! I have a wide foot and a high arch, and although at first it felt weird to have so much support (thanks to squishy-comfy but NOT long-lasting comfort of my cheaper athletic shoes), let me tell you that after wearing them ALL day long standing at an estate sale, my feet felt fine. I bought these for walking, but I can tell they're going to be my favorite all-around casual shoe.

I love these shoes - I bought these shoes to wear to the gym. I ended up buying a second pair to wear with jeans because they look so good and are so comfortable! I have a very narrow foot and bought the AA and they fit perfectly. I don't usually buy narrow because they are not available, what a difference it makes to have a shoe really fit.

My walking shoes - My sister, who is an athletic type, suggested when I Emailed her about ordering new walking shoes that I buy running shoes. I did that and think that her advice was excellent. She feels that the flexibility is an advantage. Enjoy the shoes.

Great Walking Shoe - A very comfortable shoe that offers excellent support. It offers lots of room for a wide foot. The Navy/Grey combination is an attractive look. I'll definately buy these again.

Loyal NB/Zappos customer - Had purchased many pairs of NB in my life. Chose another brand on previous purchase (same price range) and my feet "wobbled in them" as if no support. Gave them away and purchased the NB 992. As soon as put them on they were so comfortable. Will never change brands. A friend of mine, an orthopedic resident at the time, wore NB and told me NB were the best as he had done quite a bit of research and comparisons on running shoes back in the 80's. Will stay with NB from now on. Also, was told to buy a 1/2 to a full size larger on running shoes to avoid toe discomfort. I normally wear 6 1/2 and purchased size 7. This has always worked great for me since I do wear a cushioned footie.

Best sneakers ever - I have wide feet plus a bunion, so footwear almost always pinches my toes. These sneakers (in EE width) are the most comfortable I've ever worn. I'm thinking of buying a second pair so I can keep one in my gym locker and one at home.

Oh my god -they're wonderful!!!!!! When my podiatrist told me that I had to buy theses sneakers and my foot problems would be solved - I laughed! I had such cramps and blisters - my feet were a mess! I was walking in pain everyday! I no longer have cramps and can stand and walk for hours! These sneakers are true to size, durable and comfortable! They are available in leather and man-made materials, a big plus!

Second pair as great as the first! This is my second pair of 992's that I bought from Zappos. They are by far the most comfortable athletic shoes that I have ever worn. They feel good from the moment that I put them on.Which is unusual for me because I wear a 9AA. Also, Zappos (as usual) sent them promptly.

Compromise looks for amazing comfort - I love these shoes. I purchased them because I needed something really comfortable. I definitely got that!! I bought the blue and white ones and they are not very attractive. I might buy the navy or black ones next.

Walking on clouds - Following foot surgery I tried a couple of different tennis shoes, this by far was the most comfortable. I was leaving for a trip to Spain and knew that my current shoes would not give me a comfortable trip. So at the last minute, I found the 929s and they are terrific. Moreover, I found that Zappos was the most efficient place I have ever ordered from. They shipped overnight, free of charge, and their prices were much better than local merchants and kept me informed of the progress of the shipment. A very satisfied customer.

Loving my W992- My husband has always been a big fan of new balance sneakers for their comfort, style and endurance. I haven't been able to find a pair in narrow (NB's typically come in Med width).... then I came across the W992. These shoes are very comfortable and look great. Enjoy!

Very attractive light reflective shoe! Absolutely love this New Balance W992 shoe! Years ago I purchased a sneaker by New Balance with a wide width and loved them. However, you cannot find this wide width locally in the stores. I was delighted to find Zappos.com had this style and a vast assortment of wide width shoes. I recently had toe nail surgery and this shoe meets my needs. This sturdy, wide toe box really helps with the absence of pressure on my toes while they heal. I walk several miles 4-5 times a week and wanted something that would accommodate my sensitive foot problems with a very nice support for my arch. I would recommend this shoe for anyone who has foot problems. Also, the light reflective spots on the shoe help with safety while walking at night and the gray color is so attractive. Thanks Zappos.

New Balance #992 - My Podiatrist recommended the 992 for my planter fasciitis. I wear these with my orthotics. They are very comfortable. I am a mail carrier and I work in these shoes all day.

Comfy shoe - I recently ordered the 992 and I am pleased with my order. I have plantar fasciitis and needed a comfortable shoe to work in all day and this shoe was recommended by my physical therapist. It keeps my feet comfortable throughout the day. I have a wide foot, so finding a shoe can be difficult at times but this shoe feels wide enough.

I love my NB 992's! If you are looking for a comfortable walking shoe, this is it! It is not the most attractive looking shoe but it is comfort that matters most so you need to buy this pair of shoes.

NO Cheating - ZAPPOS took care of AN EXCHANGE promptly and with prompt attention. I ordered NEW BALANCE 992'S in B width. Too narrow considering the orthotics I had to use. Between a COMPETENT Orthotic Doctor and Zappos very reliable, friendly service, I am almost back to a normal walking pattern!! DO exactly what the Dr. says, NO CHEATING with low quality shoes. New Balance 992 - Have worn this for years. Not beautiful, but great for problem feet. They come in narrows too.
