Great shoe, unbelievable service from Zappos - I ordered this shoe at 11 p.m. on a Sunday, got an email before 9 a.m. Monday that it would ship that day, and got it before noon on Tuesday. I'm really amazed and impressed with Zappos, even after hearing so many good things! I've only had the shoe for a few hours but am very happy so far. It looks great and is extremely comfortable, though maybe a tiny bit too large (though that of course leaves room for thicker socks, so I don't mind that at all and consider the fit true to size as it's not THAT loose on my foot). Feels great and doesn't seem like it will need a lot of breaking in. I'm extremely happy both with the shoes and Zappos' service.

Thrilled with this shoe - I must preface my review by saying that I have incredibly fussy and hard-to-please feet. I have usually a C/D width and am also cursed with bunions. I've developed a new pain in my feet that has halted my workouts; hence my need for new shoes. These weren't my first choice as I don't think they are the most attractive shoe, however they provide what I need them to and I can overlook that one shortcoming. They aren't bad, just not as fashionable as many other athletic shoes out there. It does not look like an orthopedic shoe. I bought the grey, which looks better in person. I also tried the navy in a different size. It was a bit more masculine looking than I preferred. They are true to size and width and have excellent arch support. One might need to go up a size for orthotics. I appreciate the fact that I don't need to invest in a separate (and costly) insert to make this shoe have sufficient arch support and comfort. It feels like a significant and substantial shoe without the bulk. Great stability. I can feel the mechanics of the shoe doing their proper job in the shoe. It took a few tries, but my feet are thrilled with this shoe.

New Balance W992 - Overall great shoes. I work out every day and need shoes that I can depend on. They are soft and have a good cushion but still have strong support. Also, they are made in the USA, a very nice feature.

Overall: I am using these as work shoes. I'm on my feet all day and the shoes I had prior to these left my feet in pain that would last for days. My feet don't hurt any more after wearing these for a few weeks. Comfort: I purchased these in a wider width (just a step up from the average fit) and the shooting pain I'd had in the ball of my left foot has completely disappeared. I don't have any additional inserts, but I am thinking of getting some heel gels at a drug store as the padding the in the heel after a long day isn't squishy enough. Look: I thought they were fairly ugly online, but in person have been pleasantly surprised. They look nice with jeans and I've gotten a few compliments on them. (I ordered the black/gray color).

Great with AFO - After surviving a stroke it was difficult to find a tennis shoe that would comfortably accommodate both my foot and AFO. At the suggestion of a therapist we tried New Balance this model in particular. With a wider and higher toe box. The first pair worked so well that I now own a second pair!

Pure Comfort - Love. I have problem feet and I love to walk. These shoes let me walk everywhere and keep my feet happy. I've walked all over Rome, Milan and Barcelona in these shoes. I've hiked 8-10 miles in these shoes. I work out in these shoes. And these are the shoes I turn to when my comfort sandals or boots fail me. I realize that we're all individuals but if you're looking for a sneaker that's about performance yet still manages to look good, then the NB 992 is for you. Pair them with medium or thick hiking socks and your feet will feel like you're walking on air.

Great all day shoe - I am a PE teacher and I need a comfortable shoe as I 'm on my feet all day. This is great. I have been wearing New Balance exclusively for about three years now. For one, because the size 12 is consistent between styles and two, they are comfortable. This is the best one so far. Lots of cushioning, neutral support. LOVE THEM!

I Love These Shoes! These are the best shoes I have ever worn in the past 10 years. I've had plantar fasciitis; bone spurs on my heels, and have yet to have one painful foot day in these shoes. It's getting to be that I don't want to wear anything else, even for special occasions. Maybe I could glue sequins and sparkles on them for a wedding next month. Just kidding! (Or maybe I should).

Love these shoes - Perfect fit. Great support. Since New Balance offers wider sizes, I've found these are the best running shoes for my feet. They also work great with my orthotics. Highly recommend.

Great Shoe! I bought these shoes for a trip to Washington, DC. I walked in them for six straight hours and my feet felt great!!

New Balance 992's for women - This is my fifth pair of women's NB 992's! I love them and agree that they do run a bit big, but work for me as I tend to wear very thick socks and I don't like to have my workout shoes be short-in-the toe. Especially when walking or doing lunges. I love these shoes and find the cushion in the heel area quite comfy and believe me I have walked all over Manhattan in them!! Additionally, I have been a repeat customer and couldn't live without my NB 992's!!!!

Same as always with New Balance - There is not much to say about New Balance. Looks good. Feels good. Wears good. You just can't beat them for the price!

I wear these shoes because of my terrible feet - I wish I could get a pair in black - solid black. I do not wear shoes, can only wear sneakers.

New Balance 992 - I was recommended the New Balance 992s years ago and have grown accustomed to the fit. I have narrow feet and these particular shoes fit well and are very comfortable. I really like the navy color.

Excellent - My job requires that I stand on my feet for up to 12 hours at a time and these are the only shoes that are truly comfortable. I bought these on recommendation from my doctor after I was having back pain and have worn them ever since! I always order the wider size and it makes a huge difference.

You can depend on the latest New Balance in the 900 series - If you have been happy with all the other New Balance shoes in the 900 series you will also be pleased with the W992. My last pair was the W991. I tried other models and returned them for which Zappos gets an A+ again for customer service.

The walking shoe becomes an everyday shoe - Although this shoe is made for walking, I have found myself wearing this shoe for dancing and anything else movement related. I am confident I can wear it for long periods of time, but haven't had the chance yet to go for a long 5+ hour walk, but intend to do so when the weather isn't so damp. This shoe gives excellent support.

Overall Great Shoe - I love my 992s! They fit true to size and are super comfortable. The only complaint I have is the heel is a little thicker than most running/walking shoes and it took a little getting used to.

New Balance Super Shoe - This shoe is great for running, walking, and shopping. I am going to order a second pair. It runs large. I needed a 10 instead of a 10 1/2.

Great shoe - I have feet that ache badly after an hour or so if a shoe presses against the sides of the front of my feet at all, but because of the soft mesh on these shoes, my feet last much longer. Mesh instead of leather if you have this problem is the way to go!

I ordered a half size larger than my regular shoe size and they fit great. This shoe is a little stiffer than I expected, but offers great support and looks good, which is why I bought them.

New Balance 992 - I have a lot of foot problems and this is the only shoe I have found that works for me. However, wish they had half sizes (11-1/2). Wish they made anonymous-looking shoes instead of these visual monstrosities. Can't they make anything that is all one color? Do they have to have their giant N everywhere? I refuse to wear jeans with big logos on the back pockets, but I have to put up with these ugly things. Wish they were lighter weight. Wish they felt softer inside. Have never figured out how they can feel so hard and full of seams inside but they never, never rub. In short, I feel like I am wearing some sort of prosthetic, not a shoe, but they sure do the job with my under-pronation problem.

Great shoe - The best running shoe around. Fits perfect and has a lot of cushion. Highly recommend!!!

Love these shoes! I have a painful heel (plantar fasciitis) and needed better shoes to wear everyday, around the house. I saw these shoes in Real Simple magazine as one of their favorite products and decided to try them. They are fantastic. The light gray color looks good and I do wear them with jeans for shopping. Zappos is great. Fast, I mean fast, service.

Great Shoe - I have in the past had 2 pairs of these shoes and always found them the most comfortable. I have tried to get away with less expensive shoes but always end up coming back to these. I was having a slight problem with my left foot about 3 years ago and went to a foot doctor. With the amount of walking I was doing for exercise he told me to get a NB running shoe not a walking shoe because the stability would be better for my foot. This particular NB shoe was the most comfortable for me. I can wear them all day long and not feel like I need to change my shoes because my feet feel tired. So I have gone back to this shoe again. I ordered a 6 so I could have room for an insole and thicker socks but without either a 5 1/2 would be better. I do think this shoe runs about a 1/2 size bigger. All in all it is a great shoe.
