Pretty fly for a big guy! I'm a large guy (6'-3", 290lbs) and in looking for a good walking/jogging shoe, I tried a bunch. I have a low arch and am neutral in gait. Before purchasing the 992s I tried several other recommended shoes... Brooks Beast, Brooks Adrenaline, and the Mizuno Wave Rider 10s. It all came down to comfort in choosing the 992s... I typically blister during a rigorous workout and previously wore Nike Air Max (which were always a bit snug)... No more blisters with the 992s. I've enjoyed wearing them for 3 weeks or so and can't complain a bit. Zappos was awesome... shipped as stated... very pleased.

NB 991 or bust - My son, who has size 16 shoes, wore only NB 991s... no other shoes. He says that 992s are the same, but somehow better. An extremely comfortable shoe and one that he wears for running races as well as for everyday use.

Another NB winner! This shoe is great! Besides being stylish, it is ultra comfortable and took almost no time to break in. Another thing I really like about this shoe is that the tongue always stays in place without having to lace through the tongue stay.

New Balance - I have never been disappointed with New Balance running shoes and this was no exception. My arches do not reveal I am a pronator, however I am a heavier runner, and though the shoes are noticeably heavier, they provide a more comfortable run and appear to have corrected slight Achilles and lower shin pains I was having using lighter shoes.

Nice 992's - I’m a big guy (240 lbs.) and needed a comfortable shoe to run in. These 992's are soft and cushiony. Zappos is the best shoe store in the WORLD!!!! Ordered these and less than 24 hours they were at my front door. Now I dare anyone to beat that service. Never, never a problem @ Zappos. You guys rock!

Fantastic shoe, best I’ve ever had - It feels like you're walking on clouds. I’m on my feet all day in the lab, then the gym, then running outside on concrete, and the shoe stands up to the tests of the day flawlessly. I would highly recommend it. The price is steep, but the rewards are priceless.

Rad shoe - I have narrow feet and NB is the way to rock it. I pull freight for ten hours a night and am constantly on my feet, these shoes ensure constant comfort and support. Highly recommended!

Cool in C Springs - First I would like to say that I have never written a review for any product that I have ordered, but given the situation I just could not help myself. This shoe is without question the best running shoe out there. I went through 3 pairs of 991s and should not have strayed away from the product. After having micro fracture surgery and having bone spurs removed from my big toe, I was out of running for one year. Upon my return I wanted to consult a specialist for the first time in my life as to what running shoes would be good for my current condition. I was turned on to a pair of Asics Empire IIs that have only been trouble for me. Two strained calves and a pulled hamstring later I bought a pair of 992s. After just 2 3 mile runs in them I entered a 10K race and ran a 49:23. Not record land speed, but the fact that I finished the race with no soreness in the knees, feet, or anywhere else was fulfilling. The size felt true and the 2E width aided my foot swelling from surgery. A must buy for the common every day or every other day runner. As for the service, top of the line. I got my size wrong by a half inch and called and requested a different size. I received my new pair without question less than 72 hrs of my call. Now that’s customer first customer service. The price match and discount make shopping a regretless experience. Thank you Zappos staff, job well done!!!

My favorite shoes... I bought two pairs - one in gray, one in black. This is the next generation of 991s, which I have been wearing religiously for the past five years. Very pleased with the updated feel and design.

New Balance 992 - I have had 2 pairs of the 991 shoes for running. I loved them and when it was time for a new pair, I thought I would try the 992. I can not tell much difference in the comfort which is a good thing because the 991s were such a great running shoe. I am sure when I need another pair I will get 992s again.

GREAT SHOES - We have had several pairs of the New Balance. They fit well, very comfortable, and stay looking good for a long time... They last forever.

First impressions - Immediate fit was excellent. Was able to use straight away. Yet to have a chance to try under fast running conditions.

New Balance 992 - This is my first pair of New Balance 992 shoes. I am 100% satisfied with the shoes and the service. I am fighting a problem in my left knee and so far after taking a few short walks it appears that I have picked out the proper shoe. Your people at customer service are very courteous and it was a pleasure dealing with them. I sure hope you continue to offer free overnight service. This is the first time I have ever written a testimonial for anything I have purchased. You have a world class business! It's nice to be able to buy a pair of shoes that are made in the good old USA. This means a lot to me as I am a veteran. Keep up the good work!

Good quality shoe - I have worn New Balance shoes for some years. Since I wear a AA width, my selection for all shoes is somewhat limited. This M992 is all that I wanted and expected. It fits the way I thought it would and is extremely comfortable. The shoe required no breaking in at all. As I looked at this shoe at some local stores before purchasing it from Zappos, I had a general idea of the shoe. In addition, the Zappos price was about $25.00 lower than I could find it locally.

Couldn't be happier - Since my shoe size doesn't change and the fact that I hate shopping, buying these shoes from Zappos was a "no brainer." I put the order in on a Monday morning after my terrible run with old shoes and on Tuesday (the very next day because of free overnight shipping) I had my M992s. I was running again on Wednesday without a bump in my routine. Perfect size, perfect fit... Thanks.

Comfortable shoe in wide width - I ordered this shoe and found it to be very comfortable. I need a wide width and it fit very well from the initial trial. They are nice in appearance. Good for walking all day.

Shoe Purchase - The 992 replaces a pair of 991 that eventually wore out. Both good shoes for running.

These shoes are great. They have perfect ankle and arch support. The soles are a little thin, but with replacement they feel great.

Best shoes for running - I have 2 pairs, different colors. And I will probably get other colors. Loved them so much, I got my dad 2 pairs for father's day. Being that he is on a retirement budget he wouldn't buy them for himself because they are expensive... but very worth it... easy on the knees, heels, and washable.

First 992's - I was very distressed when the 991 was discontinued, as I require B width, which is difficult to find. The 992 exceed my expectations in every way. The comfort is simply outstanding, as is Zappos' service.

Not as Good - While the 992 is a good shoe, it is nothing like the 991. I have searched desperately for a 991, since I had been warned about the 992. I bought the 992 anyhow, and I definitely miss the old style. If you can find the 991 instead, buy it!!!

Great Shopping Experience w/Zappos - My husband really likes his shoes. He has worn the same type for many years and says this particular pain fit better than any others. He does wear an orthotics and this shoe accommodates them well. I have recommended your web site to many.

Best Shoe Ever - From the moment I saw these shoes I knew they'd be built with quality and from the moment I actually put my foot in the shoe I knew this was no ordinary sneaker. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned and when these wear out I will more than likely buy another pair. I've had pain in my right foot for a few months now and I thought that buying a decent pair of shoes would help. I'm glad to say that my foot is feeling a lot better, and I think it is due to the fact that this shoe seems to have more support in two key areas than other footwear: there is a "cushiony" feel right before the toes for support and one right above the heel of the foot. The only complaint I have is that if I don't tie the shoe tight enough the tongue seems to slide down, but it is barely noticeable.
