Providence made me a diehard Keen fan! This is my favorite pair of shoes. I'm dying to get another pair, but my size isn't available since these are from a couple of seasons ago. Got them on clearance and initially wasn't sure about a shoe with such a bulky sole. They've become my go-to shoes for everyday wear. They've held up great in all the rain we get up here and my feet have never been wet after wearing them when it's coming down. Going to beg Keen to make this one again!!!

My favorite shoes - I was looking for shoes for MONTHS, and finally found the Keen Providence in black on Zappos.com. I was very excited because they arrived the next day - Zappos is of course the greatest for speed, convenience, free shipping and returns. These are GREAT shoes and I absolutely love them, and I highly recommend Keens for comfort and quality, plus their unique look. They were very comfortable right out of the box, with only a little wearing on my heel for the first day. But I wore them right away and needed no break-in time at all. I wear them all the time and like them better than any of my other shoes, even better than sneakers. The soles are comfortable and I get compliments on how cute they are. They are clearly of high quality - good leather, well made, easy to care for, they wear well. I've had mine for almost a year and still look like new. Because many of the customer reviews I read said to order a slightly larger size than usual, I did, and I think that was the right decision for the length of the shoe. (Another reason to love Zappos, for the advice of fellow shoppers.) The only thing to be aware of with these is that the toe box is wide. This is great for not cramping your toes, however I often wear thicker socks to keep the shoes from slipping too much while I'm walking. They would not be so great for people with narrow feet. Not quite dressy enough for work or I would wear them every single day - they're a little clunky, with the big rubber toe, but that is exactly what I wanted. They make your feet look small, and if you are a short person, blunt round-toed shoes like these also make your legs appear short. They don't extend the line of your leg & help you look taller the way a pointed or narrow-toed shoe would.

My 2nd pair of Keens - My first Keens were Providence boots. I loved them and still do. The footbed of the shoes seems a bit harder than the footbed of the boot. My instinct was to order the next half size up and that was a good idea. They would have been too small, otherwise. Can't beat them for durability and for performance in bad weather.

I am employed as a gardener so I am outside in all types of weather, climbing over rocks, curbing and retaining walls and Keen makes the perfect shoe for me! The sole is very stable and even walking over wet boulders, I have never lost my footing. I also frequently water my feet as well as plants and thus far Keen Providence has kept my feet dry. The bumper toe is an added plus as I am also on all fours quite frequently. I bought my first pair of Keen sandals because of the added toe protection and was so pleased that I bought the Providence for winter. I feel that this shoe runs small.

Comfortable shoe - These shoes are really comfortable because of the wide toe box. But I have fairly flat feet and these shoes definitely have high arch support. I tend to wear a 5.5W, but I ordered a regular 6, and they were perfect in terms of size and width.

Hanging at the hospital - I love these shoes, especially the Plum color. I wear them when I'm on call at the hospital and have to be on my feet for long stretches of time. I can trek around for hours!

Too pumpkin-ish for me - LOVE this shoe and the color that was as advertised. Just too orange for my taste.

Very comfortable - Keens are great. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. Zappos also has incredible service. I received them the next day.

Keen Providence - It took a couple of exchanges with Zappos to get the right size in this shoe. The insert it came with felt all wrong also and almost ruined the shoe for me (the "toe bumps" were in the wrong places and it felt uncomfortable). But once I ordered them a half size bigger and substituted some inserts from a pair of hiking shoes, they were absolutely perfect. I walk 2 miles to work every day and 2 miles back, and have been able to wear these shoes all day.

Zappos providence - What a shoe! I love these shoes they are so comfortable. It has been a long time since I felt "one with my shoes" but these wonderful pumpkin colored shoes feel good and look good. I was going to get something that cost less and looked more "professional" but once I put these on I could not take them back off. They feel good after running around ALL DAYS. FEEL MUCH better than Merrills!

First Time - This is the first time I have purchased shoes without trying them on first.I was hesitant ordering on-line.After reading the reviews I opted to go a half size larger. The service was extemely quick and the shoes are on my favorite list now.

Near perfection - This shoe is cool looking and generally comfortable...especially the wide toe box. I just can't find that. Only small problem is the arch support is a tad much for me (that is the arch presses into my arch. This is a recurring problem in all shoes for me, but it is a shame because with a mildly lower arch the shoe would achieve perfection.

Keen's Providence Great for Long ER Nursing Shifts - This is my second pair of Keens. I have been searching for a comfortable pair of shoes for my wide foot for the 16 years that I have been an Emergency Nurse. I have finally found them. I literally slid into the Keen Santa Cruz about 2 months ago, and I thought I'd found heaven for my feet. The first shoe, now the second with the Providence, that I haven't had to stretch out, wear thinner socks or generally break in before I actually wear it. The foot bed cradles my foot, I end my shift or day with comfortable feet. These shoes look great with my scubs and my clothes. I'm going to clean out my closet and start replacing with Keens. I also needed to buy a half size larger than usual for the perfect fit. I love the rubber over the end of the toe to protect it, in my job the toes of my shoes are always taking a beating. The soles are non marking and the tread is non slip which is really helpful on wet mopped tile floors. I can't wait to try them all.

Pumpkin Keens rock - I own two pairs of Keens and am going to buy more. Soooo comfy. I generally walk long distances in these and I have the boot Providence for more winter activities. I want more. The pumpkin color gets so much attention. Zappos is terrific as everyone else agrees. Thanks

The best! These are the most comfortable shoes I have every owned. I absolutely love them. I do use a shoe horn to put them on, since the instep opening is high, but they feel very secure on my feet - plus I don't want to crush the back to get them on. They are Nubuck and I have not figured out how to keep Nubuck clean, other than brushing with a stiff brush, but that is not a problem for me, being the casual type! The arch support is great, the width is super (I have wide feet). I feel like I have Flubber on my shoes with these. A friend at work bought a Mary Jane model that were too small for her so I just had to buy those from her - they have a decidedly more feminine look with the same great comfort.

Favorite shoes ever - Aside from a sneaker, these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. I just slushed through snow in them for a month on a ski trip, and they were wonderful: easy to get on, sturdy, supportive, waterproof, and held up great overall. I tore my ACL halfway through my trip and these were the only things I have been able to wear since, and I'm not complaining.

Love my Keen shoes! I was first introduced to these shoes by my sister-in-law. She bragged about them so much that my mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband and myself all bought a pair. (My brother-in-law already had some!) They are a family shoe. We all love them.

Toe heaven - I typically buy wide shoes but this is a very welcomed exception. The toe box is wide that it feels completely comfortable even if the the shoes is pretty narrow otherwise.

Keen on these! Bought for my wife, as I have been a big Keen fan (2 pr shoes, 2 of sandals). She was hesitant because she thought they were weird. Now that she's been wearing them she's a convert. She gets compliments on their funky, fashionable style and thinks they give great support and are waterproof as well. Her normal size is 7.5 but had to exchange them for size 8 to get the right fit.

I love these shoes! They are truly the most comfortable shoes I own, and I can use them for work and play! I feel that they are dressy enough to wear with a nice sweater and pants, and of course they are perfect for weekends doing anything. They seem to be waterproof, as this is New England in February! They are funky looking, which is what made me try them in the first place, and this adds to the lure of the shoe. I first saw them in Truckee California, bought a pair immediately, and now own 3 pair. Can't have enough of these shoes! Definitely order a half size larger than your normal size.

A great Shoe! Great looking and feeling shoe. Keen's are quickly becoming my favorite shoes!

Amazing shoe - Already owned (and loved) a pair of Jamestowns, because I wanted something different from Chacos. I coveted this shoe for months, and finally got it for Christmas. I wear a 6.5 in casual shoes and a 7 in dress shoes. My first pair, 6.5, were too small and had a defect. I was crushed. After I called, Zappos sent me a new pair of 7's before I even got the 6.5's in the mail to return. This was between Christmas and New Years. The 7's are as amazing as I expected them to be. Comfortable, and they keep the snow out.

Keen Providence - This shoe is terrific. Good traction. Good looks and comfort like your feet are bare!

Sold on Keens - I have purchased a number of Keens and love each style. I like this one which is leather rather than the suede, stay cleaner though not as soft. The arch support is great however this style is a bit noiser on wooden floors.
