A tip-top shoe indeed. I purchased the dark grey/brown style, and they are quite classy. Most certainly recommended.

Cute, classy Converse- My husband and I each got a pair of these in red... I know that's corny, but we both fell in love and neither of us would stand down. ;o) they have a touch more arch support than the normal flat-bottom Chucks, and the off-white rubber against the deep red is really classy. There are metal tips on the laces. Just really love it; and it looks great in both a 6.5 and a 12!

Great shoes- just a little tight. As I said, really comfy shoes but a word of advice- get them a half size larger than your normal Chuck size (if you only wear thin socks) and a full size larger if you want to wear these with thick socks. Otherwise they will be too small and give you blisters.

Great casual shoe, looks and feels great

My fiancé loved them! I got them for him for his birthday and he loved them. I got him the green version. The only thing I would note is that the sole is really brown. It looks kind of weird after wearing so many white-soled Converse shoes for so long. But it's a nice look. I would definitely recommend these shoes and Zappos to anyone. I almost bought these shoes on Urban Outfitters website but thank goodness I looked here first. I saved with the free shipping (which was mighty fast by the way!)... Thanks Zappos!

A nice casual shoe- This shoe is more casual than the "Rsvp Brett", which I bought at the same time. This is a great shoe for casual day at the office, with its retro style, it seems to fit in. At least my boss didn't complain. Its lower cut makes it feel less durable, but I suspect this is misleading. This is a great shoe to put on after I've had on a full hiking boot or a rigid dress shoe. The relaxed fix and light weight are a great change. A did a bit of walking in this the other day and I don't recommend that you make this your primary shoe. It doesn't have much arch or ankle support and you can feel the strain after only few blocks on concrete.

Great Looking Shoe - They are all black and very stylish. It's still a Converse All-Star so I wouldn't plan on playing any sports in them.

Tennis shoe changes life - Hurricane Rita left me shoeless. I bought this pair while rebuilding my shoe collection. It was an outstanding purchase. The quality seems to be even better than the Converse All Stars you're used to. The look is both unobtrusive and eye-catching, if such a dichotomy is possible. I highly recommend you buy these. Just don't wear them in Louisiana.

Holiday gift for guys who love sneakers - My best friend loved these sneakers. He's a big fan of Cons anyway, and this style was a total upgrade from standard black. The green canvas is really nice too!

Coolest shoes ever! My son has huge (size 15) feet and can comfortably wear these in a 14. He has these in two colors and says they are the coolest shoes ever -- especially the green!

Cool shoes. My first pair of Chucks in 10 years. These have more arch support than the regular ones do but don't have much cushioning. I ordered 9.5, which is basically my size and they fit with a bit of extra room for my toes. These shoes aren't too narrow either so they'll fit feet like mine that aren't super narrow.

Love these shoes!!!! I bought these for my husband for Christmas, he LOVED them. He is a true Converse fan, and these shoes provide some arch support, plus they look amazing. We are ordering the slip on 'laceless' Converse next.

Great looking comfort - You can't go wrong with this ones.

Converse is still the best. Same great converse look but better. The insole has new added shape and a rigid orthotic type arch support that makes these a dream to wear. Its hard to improve on the original All Stars, but this is better.

Retro Chuck Taylors - The Converse Premiere All Star could not look better. My feet are pretty wide so I went up a half size. Fit is good-- support not the best, but for a low-top canvas sneaker, not bad at all.

Great shoe - My fiance has large feet and it is so hard to find him shoes! He loves these! They fit perfectly!

Don’t walk too far - As others have noted, there is a problem with heel lift with this shoe. As long as I'm not walking far, this isn't a problem; but for longer distances the rubbing becomes noticeable and then painful. Tightening the lacing doesn't stop the heel lift problem, but loosening them does cut down on the rubbing, so that's what I do (and it makes the shoes more comfortable anyway). I haven't tried changing the insole. I have wide feet and the shoes have enough give to accommodate them ok.

Painfully rubbed my heel - I wore these for 3 blocks to the grocery store and they were painful enough in that time I knew I had to return them. Otherwise, the arch support and padding insole was really nice, they seemed somewhat sturdier than the regular All Stars and were really nice looking. I bought my actual size of 10.5.

Retro-updated classic - Don't expect these to feel like running shoes or anything with any kind of support, but they look good and they're a lounging around classic. Perhaps more arch support than the original (due to the insole that comes with the shoe), but that's still not saying much....

Converse Rockers - Incredibly comfy shoes...the light colored canvas can dirty pretty quickly, but other than that, these shoes are great.

Squeak squeak - Great looking shoe (dark grey/brown), comfortable summer-time shoe, but the heels started to squeak with each footstep about 3 weeks of daily use. Also, I wear a size 10 typically but had to order a size 9 for a snug fit.

OK shoe - This shoe looks really nice, but somehow it seems thinner and narrower than my Converse One Stars - I've compared side by side and they are narrower. Not really a bad thing, just takes some getting used to. They feel more like a slipper.

Nice looking shoe! Overall, I'm happy with these shoes; they look great, and are a bit more comfortable than most Chucks. My one complaint is that they are about a half size larger than marked, but not the full size larger that most Chucks are, so you can't order a size down- which means mine are just a tad too long.

Update on 2/11/08 Review - This is an update to my 2/11/08 review. I stated that the original insoles caused comfort issues and I needed to replace with store bought insoles. Since the shoe has broken in, I have put the original insoles back into the shoe and they are now comfortable. Seems like the shoe just needs some break in time for those like me, so I updated the comfort 1 star. Overall, I love the shoe. It is holding up well.

Converse Premiere All Star (Canvas) A classic shoe that invariably draws compliments. I have a canvas pair in brown and a pair in black leather. I ordered a full size smaller than my normal, as suggested. A half-size smaller might have fit a bit better. As everyone knows, the shoe has no arch support; however, I wear mine all day long at work (where I stand and walk a lot) and they have enough support for me.
