I ordered these shoes for my 4 yr old and 8 year old boys and neither of them could even get their feet in them. The shoe opening is way too small. I'm afraid to order any larger because then I feel the shoes may be too big in length and flip off feet. So dissapointing!!

Similar to other reviewers, the mouth of the shoe was too small for my son to get his feet inside. We really liked the style of these shoes and were really disappointed to have to return them.

Like many others, my son with normal size (width) feet could not even get his feet into the shoe to try on. He is barely a size 13 and couldn't get 1/2 of his foot into the shoe. Too bad! They are cute and a classic style. Need to be wider or stretchier.

My five year old couldn't get his foot into the white/black checkered sneaker. The hole just wasn't big enough. He even has small feet. He typically wears a 10/10.5, so I ordered a 10.5. I forced the sneaker onto his foot and it was bursting. I returned the 10.5 and bought a size 11. I had the same problem with the 11. The opening to the shoe isn't sized correctly. Once I got his foot into the sneaker, I could tell that they were too long. However, they were just too tight/narrow. He has a pair of the black/gray checkered in a 10.5 and they fit fine. However, the black/grays are made differently. I bought an adult size 11 for myself and didn't have the same trouble with putting them on. Perhaps the child versions are manufactured differently.

Bought these for my son thinking size 3.5 might be too roomy. He could not get his foot into them. There is clearly a design flaw with the elastic/ tongue of this slip on shoe. Vans has definitely cheapened the quality of their shoes over the years ( I bought them for myself in the late 70s early 80s and material quality drop is quite obvious)

These were so tight my son couldn't even stretch them to get them on.

Canvas almost immediately separated from the soles and they are already falling apart after just 1 month of wear. Boys are tough but I expected more from Vans.

I'm upset I ordered this shoes since last week i need for my daughter to go to school they said it will deliver on Wednesday I still haven't go it because its delivered by ups and they need a signeture for one shoes thats only $35.00..i work so I guess I'm supposed to take off from work to sign for shoes for $35.00 dollars..Im highly disappointed.,

ABSURDLY narrow with no stretch and impossible to put onto my 8 year old's foot. I see a lot of reviewers had similar issues.... c'mon vans! make some changes!

Could not even get close to getting my son’s foot in this shoe, no matter how hard we both shoved. Odd because he has average size feet. I doubt ordering a size up would fix this problem.

My kids could not get these "slip-ons" on. The opening is way too narrow. Look great but cannot keep.

I do not understand how major companies like Vans doesn’t test their shoes out on a bunch of kids before producing and selling them! My child has a narrow foot. He couldn’t even get his skinny little foot into these shoes! I don’t fault Zappos! They are always great, but these shoes are ridiculous. A bigger size is not the issue, it is about the size of the opening itself! Too small, by far!

my child's skinny legs and feet and takes a size 12 -finally bought 13.5 because he wanted them so badly - could not get them on - so disappointed - I've already sent two pairs back, won't try again.....

I bought these for an 8 yr. old with very skinny legs and feet, I even went up a size - could not even get his upper foot inside - there is something wrong with these shoes - he was heartbroken, but no Vans for him

These run SO narrow. I shouldn't have been surprised because all of the reviews stated that, but I had my fingers crossed anyway. My son has average width feet and we couldn't even get these on.

I ordered half a size up for my son; and his feet could not fit through the opening. Zappos was kind and exchanged the shoe up 1.5 sizes; his feet could still not fit through the opening. I would not buy slip-on vans again for my kids. The opening is too narrow.

Bought these Vans and two other pairs of shoes, different brands, in the same size for my daughter. The other brands fit great, but she literally could not even get her foot into these because they were so narrow. Have no idea if the length was good because we couldn't even get that far! Definitely returning.

My toddler hated this shoe

They were dirty when I got them, I was so disappointed! There's yellow stain around the shoes and it's a bit bigger than the checkered vans I purchased before. It looks like someone used it and returned it and I was the unlucky one to get them secondhand. I have no choice but to keep it.

We are sad about these Vans. My son started wearing them on January 5. Yesterday (March 14th), we had to throw them away. The shoes were completely falling apart. He is not particularly rough on shoes & to be completely honest, it’s winter in WI so he actually wore boots anytime we were outside? Zappos is great with their customer service, but I am starting to question the quality of Vans.

They seem to have changed the elastic on these shoes. It's pretty much impossible to slip them on, even if they're the right size in every other respect. I ordered them twice in two different colors in case it had just been a batch with a manufacturing defect, but no, it seems like they're all like this.

Tried three times, don’t fit. Won’t bother with this brand again.

This is the second pair of slip on Vans I've tried for my son. They somehow have not mastered this shoe for kids. We bought the Mario ones since my son is obsessed and sadly it is nearly impossible to get them on his feet. They are so stiff and then when we finally get them on they are just too narrow and I bought a half size big too. I think in general they run small. I really wanted these shoes to work out. They look great but they don't fit.

My son loved how these look but they fell apart within a month.
