These are very nice-looking boots. As others have mentioned, the wide width isn't that wide. The boot was way too tight across my instep, and I'll have to return them.

Wasn't meant to be - This boot felt comfortable and warm. The height was perfect for my petite frame. So why did I return it? The look. I could not get pass how ugly looking this boot is. I was really trying to convince myself to keep it and hopefully I would get to like it but I realized that that just won't happen. Hopefully I can find a better looking one from this brand. And as usual, Zappos was fantastic!

Not for me - I already have 3 pairs of La Canadienne boots, and love them. I wanted a low-heeled black pair that I could walk around in a lot. These did not seem that comfy to me (I also ordered the Alexa with the sheepskin lining -- HEAVEN! those I’m keeping) and the shiny leather made me feel like I was wearing rain boots. I’d imagine that the shiny thing works better with the red.

I first saw them last winter and loved the look of them online and purchased them from the store this year. I wish I had gone with my first instinct and taken them back. I do agree with one reviewer who said they are kind of clunky. As well, some times I look at them and think, “Yes, they are kind of orthopedic looking”, other times I think they are okay. Not great, but okay. The first couple of times I wore them I found them very hard to walk in (like they were too heavy or something), but found them much better after taking out the horrible insoles. All in all, a so, so boot. The height looks silly with the usual just above knee skirts I wear. Thinking of getting a skirt that falls to mid-calf to wear with this boot. Otherwise, I wear them with dress pants and they look okay.

Comfortable, but not too pretty - I returned these. I do agree that they are wonderfully comfortable -- I didn't want to take them off once I put them on. But looks wise, I found them clunky and sort of orthopedic-looking. Also, the heel on the black patent leather is a grayish black rubber that looks cheap and mismatched with the rest of the boot.

These boots were fine but I got them in the black crinkle patent and it was a little too shiny and crinkly for my taste so am sending back. They also were not quite as comfortable as I thought they might be (although I have super sensitive feet so this probably would not be an issue for most).

Meh...As expensive as these boots are and as great as the reviews are, I really expected to like them. But they are really just bland. The leather was soft, but looked kind of plastic-y and they weren't stylish at all. I would never have worn them with pants because the toe is so clunky looking. The wedge heel is nice. They are significantly smaller than normal. I usually wear a 37 (or 6 ). Occasionally I can fit into a 7, but they tend to be a bit big for me. I also have pretty narrow feet and small calves (at the widest point they are 13 inches). I ordered a 7 and they were uncomfortably tight. I think they may have loosened up as time went on, but I was just so underwhelmed that I sent them back. There is some arch support, but not a ton and the insole is soft, but not the way people were going on and on about it. I didn't find them extraordinarily comfortable - or extraordinarily anything for that matter (except expensive)!

This boot has a very narrow shaft, and the foot bed also runs narrow. (I wear a 7WW, which is the size that I ordered.) These boots were quite uncomfortable, and I had to return them.

Do not buy these boots if your feet are wide. They will not work for you. I normally wear a 9W. I read the reviews, ordered a 9.5 WW, and crossed my fingers. No luck. I took them out of the box, looked at the sole, and I knew right away they would not work. I tried them on and both feet felt crunched across the width. So sad. These boots are beautiful.

I couldn't even zip these up past my ankles. Will I ever be able to find a boot that fits my calves? They are normal calves. Normal. Yet no boot fits. I bet if I could have zipped them up they would have been wonderfully comfortable.

OMG, these are so narrow! I usually wear a Medium width, so I upgraded to Wide for winter socks... no way I could even wear these with tights. Also, boot was very narrow on the shaft... I don't have a wide calf per se, but if you lean towards being fuller rather than stick figure, don't buy these. Cute though, for a lower healed boot. Too bad!

I love the color of these cherry red boots and decided to give them a try. They are extremely comfortable and I wore them on a recent business trip. I felt like I was walking on clouds through the airport. I wore the boots with skinny jeans tucked in and received numerous compliments. As I boarded the plane I received a compliment from the captain and the flight attendant. I wasn't sure about the style of this boot, but decided they are pretty fun and hip! I ordered the extra wide because I have bunions and the fit was perfect (I think these boots run a bit narrow so I suggest going up in width if you have wide or problem feet). I would highly recommend these boots for style and comfort.

I got this model of boot several years ago and barely wore them, because it doesn't rain a lot where I live. But the last time it did, I put these on, stepped off a curb and immediately my feet were soaked -- the boots had completly cracked at the ball of the foot. Zappos couldn't do anything and I contacted the manufacturer and they shrugged their shoulders. I threw them away, and I would not buy another pair of these very expensive rain boots.

I have owned and loved four pairs of La Canadienne boots over the past five years. These look nice but do not feel good on. I tried them in regular and wide and I did not like either pair. They ran small and in the wide, the inserts were loose and heal felt tight. I am disappointed because I have stage four arthritis is in my feet (though I am only 40 years old!) and I really appreciate boots from this company because they are both stylish and comfortable even for me. Not these boots, though. They are going back. Thanks, Zappos, for making it easy!

I'm really mad over these boots. I wear 8.5 wide. My calves are 15". I ordered 10W after reading the reviews. I couldn't zip them up! Why would they call them wide calf? That's just mean. They're beautiful boots, but they're for dainty little legs and medium feet. Nothing wrong with that, but don't tease us women with healthy legs, okay?

I wanted to love this boot, but it's going back. The look and feel of this boot is great, but the fit is terrible. It is very tight at the ankle, so much so I don't think leather will stretch. Most boots are too wide on me so I took the chance on this boot. Sadly, it's going back.

Quality issue. I was so excited to get this boot, I wear orthotics and I could remove the insole. They are so comfortable. The only problem is that I wore them twice and the patent part of the patent leather started to crack and fall off. Apparently they are horrible quality. This is very upsetting.
