Wonderfully comfortable and very versatile - I've bought and returned SO many boots. A year ago I learned I had bunions and that my feet had widened during my pregnancies. So shoes/boots I'd been wearing for a long time all of a sudden hurt. I bought these as 8 wides and have been able to wear them for nearly full days, right out of the box. Very comfortable and they look great, especially for such low heels!

These boots weren't made for walkin' - Super cute! And can stand up to the rain big time, no slipping or sliding. I do not have the skinny leg thing going on, so I was concerned about them fitting my calves and they do! Wonderfully… BUT they are a little too stiff over the instep which makes them a three or four hour boot as opposed to an eight hour plus boot. I've only worn them four times and my mom says they will loosen up after a few more wears... but gosh they are so cute that when I look down at my feet I get so tickled that I almost forget about the stiff instep.

Hesitant, but now a convert! Okay, I wasn't crazy about the looks of this boot when I saw it in the flesh. I thought they were kind of orthopedic-looking, but I wore them out & about & I'm sold! There's plenty of room in the toe box; I think they're a tad tight around the calf, but I like the height of the shaft; not too tall. They were comfortable right out of the box!

These boots are red! I ordered these boots thinking they would be a subtle red/cherry color. They were pretty, but I didn't think I could wear them without making a statement. They are great boots, but I was looking for something that would go with everything. I have returned the red and will reorder in black since the boots are very well made, have a great shape, and are very stylish. I have other La Canadienne boots and just like those… these were right-out-of-the-box comfortable. Just a little too loud.

Almost Perfect. This is a great looking boot with a 60's retro look to it, especially in patent leather. Looks great with jeans or a funky dress or mini skirt. My feet are very tiny and hard to fit -This boot definitely ran larger than a true size 5. I had to stick lambswool in the toe to prevent my foot from sliding to the front. Also, I have bunions and I have to wear a lot of padding around my big toes to prevent them from hurting. Having said that, it's a fabulous boot and COMPLETELY waterproof. I walked in a major New York City rain storm, through puddles, and I my foot remained totally dry and cozy. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have "feet issues". The calf width is kind of narrow so anyone with large calves might have a problem, but it fit my skinny legs like a glove! All in all I love the boot. I just wish La Canadienne boots ran a little truer to size for those of us with very small feet.

Most comfortable boots since Dr. Martens! This boot is one of the best and of finest quality I've ever purchased (and I know my boots)! Instantly comfortable. My calf is larger than average and the boot still fits comfortably (though I don't think it could zip around more than a 16" calf). The only thing I wish this boot had is a taller height: It hits right in the middle of the calf - and I wish it were 3" or more taller. Regardless, I look forward to wearing this boot all winter!

I love these boots. I've only worn them once but I walked all over NYC for about 12 hours in them and my feet were very happy. However, they are a bit tight on my calf. I took a chance knowing they might be snug. By the end of the day, my calves felt like they were in a choke hold and would explode from the pressure. Still, I adore them. They are so stylish. I received many great compliments. I'm very happy with my purchase!

Good boot - Definitely keeps feet dry in cold, wet snow, but feet can get a little cold after long exposures. Good boot for weather and looks nice, too.

Love the boots - one flaw - I do love these boots. I have them in red, which is excellent. They look great, and I get compliments whenever I wear them out. They have one flaw, and it is that they are not quite as durable as other La Canadienne boots that I have owned. Because they are patent leather, the patent seems to be somewhat prone to cracking or chipping both on the seams of the boots and on the toes where I have probably bumped the boot many times. They still look good and keep my feet dry, so overall, I think they are worth the $$, but I am hoping that the company will work this for next season.

Excellent boot - Had I bought this boot in person, I might have gone up a half-size, especially if I wanted to wear thicker socks. It did give me a blister on the back of my calf the first time I wore it (To be fair, I wore it for about 7 hours and 3 miles the first day) However, it is a very cute boot and I got a ton of compliments. I *HATE* winter but I think these boots will make it a little more tolerable. PS: Zappos, you guys ROCK ! I couldn't believe how fast these arrived. Thanks!

I've had fabulous luck with La Canadienne, but this one fit me differently from the others of the same size. It was extremely tight across the top of my foot, to the degree that I had trouble getting my foot all the way in. I really like the looks and of course the quality is fabulous, but I have to return them.

Ordered a 9 WW and it's too narrow in the forefoot. Fits well in the heel and ankle. Just a little bit snug in the calf, which would be okay if the forefoot wasn't tight. WW should be really roomy. Otherwise nice boots. Very very squared off toe, though, you have to want the squared off toe look.

Based on the reviews, I ordered up in both size and width. They are uncomfortably tight in the ankle, and stretching does not help much, because the lining is not leather. In addition, I have tremendous difficulty zipping up only the right boot when it gets to the calf. I measured both my calves, and they are equally 14".

These boots are comfortable and fit well, but they just are so boring looking. They are definitely not worth investing so much in. I am returning them and continuing the search.

I usually love La Canadienne, but I sent these back. They fit well, so no worries there (I found them true to size), but the style was way too duck-like and clunky. They looked a lot more streamlined on the video and photos.

These boots are very lovely rain boots with a nice balance of functionality and style. If you want them for just sleek boots to wear with work skirts, unless you like slightly clunky, these probably don't fit the bill. Although they have a nice shaped toe box, I found it painfully stiff and uncomfortable to walk (in the boots with the patent stripe). Also, the arch was in the wrong place for my foot, but I sometimes have this issue in certain brands.

I really wanted these boots to fit me. I usually wear a 7.5 W and ordered up to an 8 WW. The length fit fine but the boots were too narrow for me. The toe box also was a bit cramped even with tights. Sadly, they're going back. Others have mentioned that they were snug in the ankle but they were fine for me. However, I have thin legs (12.5 inch circumference). The upper part of the boot gave my skinny legs the best fit ever but it still gaped some. I liked that they came up to the widest part of my calf and not all the way up to the knee. I have flat feet and can't report as to arch support. As others have mentioned they're very nice boots. If they were wider (or my foot narrower), I would have happily kept them.

Somehow I missed the shaft circumference measurement on these, and thought they had a wide shaft...boy, was I wrong! I am a true 6.5WW, and ordered this in 7WW. With insole, I found the width a little narrow, and the ankle area a little too snug. I could not zip this up over my 16 inch calves. The boot itself is great quality. Compared to other boots I've ordered from Zappos, I think these would last a long time. The leather was substantial, and the zipper was sturdy and smooth. The snug fit in the ankle area contributed to the beauty of this boot, as there was no sagging or bunching. The cushioning in the sole was extremely comfortable. I am so sad that these beautiful shiny red boots, so comfortable, would not zip up my calf.

I ordered these boots in wide just to make sure there would be plenty of room and I was very disappointed that not only did the foot part feel barely wide enough for my medium width foot, but I could not even zip the boot up. Too bad because they are really cute.

I really wanted to like these boots because I usually love La Canadiennes. These were about to be my forth pair of La Canadienne boots. I am a size 6 with very wide feet, so when I saw that they offered in wide, naturally I was ecstatic. The boots did not feel wide, for a wide size shoes. I don't understand why it felt tighter than my other size 6 REGULAR boots. Also it was difficult to zip up and was very tight around the calf. I do not have big calves and all my other La Canadienne boots fit perfectly fine. Something about these boots just did not fit me well. It was also awkward around my ankles so it made walking very awkward. So sadly, I had to return them. :(

Mid-calf length is great for my short legs and boot fits my athletic calves. The very rounded heel and plenty of space in the forefoot make my feet look enormous.
