Comfortable boot but would be better for a wide foot. A little too combat/galoshes kind of feel for me but very well made. This is my 50 millionth boot return - I am very picky and I cannot believe Zappos still works with me! I cannot find a comfortable warm leather boot for the life of me!

This is a beautiful boot, but I misjudged the circumference I need. This is too narrow, so I will be returning it. I have a wide foot (6EE) and it felt comfortable.

Totally pleased with the quality of patent leather. Price reflects this quality. Looks classy, modern, casual. Need to take out the foot insert if wearing thick socks. I ordered 7 wide and the boot is snug around my 13" calves (wearing nylons). Not your typical boot.

Beautiful boot, but so narrow and weirdly fitted in general. I have wide feet, high arches, and wide calves, and normally wear a size 7. So I ordered a 7.5 EE figuring that would be enough extra room. Also, this boot is shorter than your average knee-high so I thought it would hit low enough on my calf to fit properly. Yeah, I couldn't zip these boots over my ANKLE. (For the record, I've tried on dozens of boots in the last two years and never once had trouble zipping over the ankle. On the contrary, most are too baggy. My ankles are not remotely fat.) They were plenty long and - unusually for me - wide enough in the toe area, but so tight across the arch it felt more like pulling on a leather sock than a boot. Sadly, it seems like it would have been a wonderful boot if only I could get it on my body. The few steps I took were well-cushioned with nothing poking or scratching. The leather was soft and supple. These might be your perfect boot if you have narrow feet, flat arches, and super-skinny ankles and calves.

I was so excited to get these, but the EE were too narrow for my EE feet. They were returned for David Tates.

I need to replace my La Canadienne (Jenny?) that is wearing out after 6 years of constant winter use, and was happy to find this on sale in my size (8.5). Ordered the WW based on other reviews. The boot's OK except that the ankle area is quite tight and stiff--not comfortable enough after wearing around the house for about 5 days, so I'm sadly returning it.

I had to get these cherry boots! They reminded me of a red patent pair I loved back in 1972 when I was in 3rd grade. They are really fun and extra comfortable. My only criticism is that the calf is narrow - when I'm wearing pants, I don't zip them up all the way because they're tight, and I don't have big calves. Other than that, I love these boots and ordered them in the black too.

I wanted to love these boots. But as others reviewers noted the width does feel narrower than marked. It is the first time I've experienced one foot feeling fine in width while the other one felt cramped. I didn't try going up a size in width since one foot felt fine as a medium width (I've always been either narrow or medium). So seemed weird that I would need to be a wide.

I love LaCanadienne and have been wearing their size 6 boots for years. I ordered this particular boot in my size. The Blanche boot fits snug in the ankle and calf however there is way too much room in the toe area -- I would guess by an entire size. I'm 4'11" and these size 6 boots look too big on me for my frame. I was tempted to return them for a 5-1/2 but I'd worn them outside treking thru Chicago and felt it wouldn't be the right thing to do. Also, when I ordered this booth, I also ordered another pair of LaCanadienne and wore those all day today while x-mas shopping. The left boot is larger (both width and length) than the right and it quite obvious while looking down at the boots while wearing. I feel that the materials used to make LaCanadienne are quality however I think that the construction of their boots unfortunately are not like their boots made in the 90's.

You can walk all over town in these, keep you feet dry, and look good. Way better than rubber rain boots.

Loved the boots, perfect for my 5' height, but the shaft width is at least an inch narrower than stated. The WW worked great for my normally med-wide foot, and I was able to go down 1/2 size as a result. I'm so disappointed I have to return these.

I bought the boots a few months ago and have worn them several times a week since. I bought a pair of arch-only inserts and since then have been able walk to work (20 minutes) without issue. The cuff comes up to about 3 inches below my knee and so the boots look great with tights and a skirt. They are very snug on the calf so if you don't have slender calves, they may not work for you. Women's dress boots are popular this fall/winter but what I like about these is the more classic look which I'll be able to wear after the trendy styled boots are out of fashion. So far they have been warm so far (it's in the 30s here) and I haven't needed to break out my winter boots yet. I gave the boots 4 stars overall only because of the price. Spendy but I'm glad I got them. I just hope they last.

I really like these boots, the shininess is a bit much (someone asked if I was a working girl); however, I chose to get the shiny ones. Pretty comfortable so far, and I'm really picky about that. Thinking about getting more of this brand, just might steer clear of super shiny next time!

I purchased about twelve pairs of boots trying to find a good fit for my 5 foot self. These are very cute and a good height for petite people. Most boots were either too high or too wide in the calf, and these were perfect. They are very comfortable, and unlike many of the La Canadienne boots, they run fairly true to size. (They have stretched since I've worn them; they're nearly a size wider in the footbed.) Still, a great boot if you're petite. The patent leather is super shiny, not just glossy. I'm going to purchase the regular leather for next season.

Really comfortable, attractive boots. Unfussy style means I can where them to work or casually. I ordered half a size up from my dress shoe size. These boots are warm but not hot, and the waterproof claim is true. The construction of the boot and the quality of the leather matches what I expect from an investment (for me) boot.

Great Zappos service as usual! I got these boots in black, wide, 7.5. I usually wear a 7 normal width, but decided to go with a slightly larger size and width because of all the previous reviews. These felt true to size, and I am not sure if I needed to get the larger size. However, I tend to like looser-fitting boots so I kept them. I also ordered, but returned the patent red ones. They were really cute, but not really practical for everyday wear. Due to the sole and padding, these boots are extremely comfortable, and I can wear them all day without them hurting my feet. I wear them over leggings or under boot-cut jeans and they always look cute. Overall, these boots are a great investment!

Terrific winter boot - fun and functional! I've had these for two years and they are still going strong, trudging through ice and slush while keeping my feet warm and comfortable. The only thing I don't love about these boots is the extreme shine of the patent leather - it makes the boot look a bit cheap, which it most certainly is not.

These boots are wonderful, stylish and comfortable for a full day on my feet! I have a narrow calf and these fit well, even with stockings. Very satisfied!

These boots are gorgeous and I really wanted them to be my Cinderella experience. I have very wide feet, but small calves. The calves fit perfectly, but the width was too tight. I ordered double wide and it just wasn't wide enough. The search continues!

I've worn these boots around for a couple weeks now, and overall I've been pleased. I do wish the toe were a little less boxy and the shaft taller, but the boots have been very useful and comfortable for everyday wear. I usually wear a 7.5, sometimes an 8. I didn't order up, because at the time 7.5 was the only one available. They are a little snug, but I don't have the sliding problem some people experienced. Also, some recommended taking out the insert, but I found that, while it does make the boot larger, it also makes the shaft slump down. My calves measure 13.5 inches around, and these boots are comfortable with or without skinny jeans tucked in.

I\'m only 4\'10 so these were the first boots that hit me at the right height at my calves. They are also very comfortable to walk in. I wish the toes were not so squared off, and then these boots would have been perfect, but overall they suit my needs. I usually wear between 5-5.5. I ordered a 5.5 and they felt just right, maybe a bit snug; no room for thick socks.

I'm a fan, have 4 pairs of La Canadienne winter boots. They have great quality, comfortable and always keep my feet warm and dry. I particularly love the style of this one in patent leather with a kind of mod look, and I've been wearing them since they arrived. I would have given a 5 stars, but I do have a little problem with the height of the heel in combination with the arch and a lower front. My toes keep sliding towards the front. I wish the front of the sole could be a bit higher to provide a better balance (for me).

Great boots! They are honestly as comfortable as sneakers. The only thing is I'd like if they were an inch or two higher. But I wear them a lot, especially with skirts. Very good quality!

So sad... Measure twice, buy once. The calf circumference of these boots is exactly as described but poor dumb me didn't take my own measurements into account before ordering. These look sleek even in widths and my 6-1/2 EE feet fit beautifully. I could zip them up but the fit in the calf was too constricting to justify the expense. Reluctantly returned.
