Great Shoe - Wonderful shoe for all types of terrain, I run in the northeast these shoes can handle everything, snow, mud, rocks you name it! Run long or short the Salomon XA Pro 3D will be there when you need them most! BTW buyer beware the shoes I received from Zappos where seconds or previously used!

Great shoe! Been wearing nonstop for 2 weeks now and its fit is perfect. Excellent construction, look, fit, and design. The draw string lacing mechanism is great. Would definitely recommend these to anyone and will continue to purchase Salomon (these were my first). These fit MUCH better than any previous Keens that I have tried.

Great Trial Running Shoe - These shoes are excellent. Just as other have said, the lace system is great. Just pull on the cord and the lock holds your laces firmly in place...stow the slack in the lace pocket on the top of the tongue and go. They provide great traction on dry all the way to wet and muddy trails but tend to be a little slick on wet rocky surfaces. Otherwise they are an extremely stable platform with a firm sure footed feel. Great shoe for trail running but they are bit too firm for road running. Excellent trail shoe-great lace system, stable firm platform, waterproof, and very comfortable!

Blessing in size - Much preferred over the Salamon GCS Pro! I am an 11.5, but the GCS was priced well in size 12 and for that price, I thought I could make it work as some shoes fit smaller. It was a no go and upon return, no 11.5s were available in the GCS model, thus I went for this model. I haven't had much chance to break them in yet, but I love how light they are (GCSs were noticeably heavier) and frankly much prefer them over the GCS (good idea, but as per previous posts, has an awkward feel in normal gait). The lace pocket is also a bonus!

Looks wicked, fits good - These fit a little tight, but like most boots they'll grow on you. I first bought some Montrails Hurricane Ridge but they fit too tight. These are just right. And they lace up easily and keep your feet nice and dry. I highly recommend if you like the fit of Adidas shoes.

Awesome trail and daily wear shoe - At first I was not sure about the mechanism that took the place of tying my shoes but I love it. It is a snap to put on these shoes. The sole is very supportive and firm but the shoe itself is comfortable and soft on the inside. Very comfortable for daily wear and my camping buff friends told me that it would also make a good trail shoe. I like the tread on the bottom, and overall the shoe is very sturdy.

Best trail shoe I've ever owned! In my 15+ years of wearing trail shoes (North Face, Vasque, Adidas, La Sportiva), I have never owned a pair as wonderful as these. Taking advantage of Zappos' generous shipping policy, I tried on a half dozen different brands in the same category (Gore-tex trail running & hiking), including relative newcomer Inov8, and it quickly became clear that Salomon's far exceeded the others in fit, comfort, arch support, style, and breathability. The picture doesn't do these justic in terms of styling, by the way. So before you purchase any other shoe, you MUST try these beauties on. If you are like me, you'll delightedly say, "Where have you been all my life?!" Bravo, Salomon!!!

Great shoes for light hiking - I bought the shoes for hiking. The shoes perform extremely well for my five hours hike. Their light weight outperforms my hiking boots for good. It's good with all kinds of conditions, just name it, mud, rock, dust, steep hill to down hill. I'm satisfied. Now all of my weekend hiking buddies are wearing Salomon's XA Pro 3D XCR and we are all happy hikers.

A great shoe - I bought these for my son who picked them out. The color is great and they fit very true to size. Best of all, they've got some waterproofing. We're going to a big city for Christmas and he'll need something he can wear if we're walking all day in the rain. They're great for school and he says they "look really awesome."

Great shoe! I am REALLY picky about the fit of my shoes. These have excellent arch support, and probably run a bit narrow. Not good if you have high-volume feet. But outstanding for my relatively narrow feet. I'm gonna buy a pair of the non-XCR's just to wear casually.

Hit the trails! Great shoes. This is my second pair. I do a lot of hiking and my fist pair was not waterproof. Now I have no problems hitting the trails and puddles with my husband and dogs. The easy zip ties are awesome and the shoes provide ample support. Very true to size.

Best shoe ever owned - Awesome shoes, love the feel they provide, the nice looks but still rugged and waterproof. The lacing system is very fast and easy. Great shoe Salomon, keep it up. Wish they were less expensive I’d buy more.

Best shoe I've had in years...maybe ever - Have never worn Salomon before this, but based in part on the great reviews already posted, I ordered a pair. Anyway, the reviews were right - these shoes are not only great looking but are probably the most comfortable I've ever had. They truly 'fit like a glove' and offer superb cushioning. I'm planning to stick with Salomon brand going forward, they are that good. The only area I could recommend for improvement would be to find a way to tie down the top of the quick lace system. I've been just sticking it under one of the laces, but it would be nicer to have a built in strap to stop it from flopping around. Otherwise, I'm thrilled with these shoes and have gotten several comments about their looks.

Love this shoe! This is my second pair of Salomon’s and I've liked both. The XA Pro 3D XCR fits great, has an aggressive style that I like a lot and I love the quick lace system. I have narrow feet, but these fit perfectly.

Great shoe...but BEWARE: I ordered the olive for my husband and when it arrived it looked brown--not green at all and nothing like the photos. Had a similar problem with a pair I ordered for myself (also in green) that ended up being much brighter (almost neon) compared with the Zappos on-line photos. Other than the problem with the color, it's a great shoe.

Best out there... Salomon has got their game down. I too have and still own Merrel and Vasque, and neither of those can compare to these. Many other brands I looked at before these had a few of the features I wanted but missed some i.e. the quick laces, Gore-Tex, etc. The Salomons have it all. Again I also agree they run narrow, good for me not so great for others. Also a little stiff and rigid in the wrong areas right out of the box, but that could be expected, a quick 4 mile jaunt in 2 days had them worked right in. I’m addicted to the quick fit lacing now too, I don’t ever want to tie my shoes again.

Narrower than average - True to other reviews, this Salomon shoe runs narrow; similar experience with The North Face shoes. I usually purchase Keen, Vasque and Merrell. Even purchased a 1/2 size larger for proper width but that only left more toe room which made this trail running shoe with too much to trip over.

Serious Trail Runner - Great trail running shoe. I've run through many a pair of Salomon's (as well as many, many other trail runners) and this is their best yet. Good stability, cushioning, grip and protection - yet fairly light weight. Ran a 1/2 marathon (road/trail) right out of the box! This is a great trail shoe - not meant for the road. My foot is on the narrow side and this fits well, with excellent toe area.

These are great looking shoes. If the right shoe had fit my husband the way the left shoe did, he'd be keeping them. He does not have this problem with other shoes and his feet are pretty narrow for a guy. But in these shoes, his right big toe pressed on the medial toe box. This was true of another Salomon shoe of a similar style that we'll be returning at the same time.

Worth the money - The XCR's felt at least a full width narrower than marked. This works out well for individuals with narrower feet like me. Lacing design is functional, innovative, and simple to operate - but what if a lace breaks? Shoe will likely work well for a large range of foot types.

Awesome shoes - These shoes are perfect for all kinds of pursuits. Their rugged design and the fact they are virtually waterproof makes them perfect for just about any outdoor activity in any weather. Their cushioning and contoured fit make them super comfortable. They're great for just cruising around in too. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a tough, yet comfortable, all-purpose athletic shoe.

Excellent shoe - I would recommend this shoe to any one. I have problems with my arches and these shoes have plenty of support. Fast, light and comfortable. They are a bit larger than the size marked; I go back and forth from 10.5-11 depending on the brand and the 10.5 fits perfect.
