First I want to say that I return these boots but only because they had a steel toe. They are beautiful looking and comfortable but due to an existing injury I have, I cannot wear any steel toed boots. Otherwise they are a great pair of boots. I just hope that the non steel toed version comes back in stock.

Nice. Much lighter weight than you would expect from the look- the thick soles are internally molded to a semi-hollow design with a nice soft shock-absorbing feel. I found both sizes that I tried to be comfortably wide/loose across the width (compared to American boots) and very, very, small/tight right across top/arch - which mostly just makes them difficult to put on or off. I stretched mine out overnight on a boot-stretcher, and now they're just peachy-keeno.

I have worn these daily since I received them (about 3-4 weeks). I am in the construction industry, and wear these on everything from dirt to carpet. So far, I love them. My boot size varies from size 11 - 12, I ordered a 12. Felt a hit snug (not uncomfortable) out of the box. After a day or so, they stretched out just right.

Love these boots. They are my second pair. I have them in a steel toe for work and wear them every day. I liked them so much I bought these as a casual boot to wear. Great boots.

I just retired my first pair of the ol' boys' (Dr. Martens boots) yesterday 3/2014. I believe I could've gotten a few more months out of them. The wife started asking me about the soles on my boots. I told her they have character...so my wife just purchased me the same pair I retired the other day, which I had originally brought back in 9/2012. That's a really good boot Mr. Dr. M., coming from a RxR worker, those conditions out there on those tracks, the terrain, ballasts all sorts of crossings and not too mention the weather. It's good too know these boots are built to last. Keep up the good work and the same quality and you have a long lasting relationship with customers.

Awesome boots. Look worn and beaten up after a week. Feel broken in and nice and comfy by the 2nd day. These are my go to work boots. No complaints. Docs never let me down. Get some.

These boots are great. I ordered them as riding boots (horse) and for working in the stables. They are incredibly durable and work perfectly as intended. The only complaints I have are very minor ones: They're a little hard to get off because of the top lip and I can't get them on over thick cold weather wool socks (luckily I have a pair of thinner wool socks that work well enough). Also, when I got them, they were very hard to get on, but this worked itself out as I broke them in.

These shoes are fantastic, very comfortable and sturdy, the size was perfect. It takes a little bit effort to put them on and take them off. That should be expected with boots, it took about a day to break them in. Now I wear them every day in the super cold weather of ski town!

First Docs ever owned. Thoroughly impressed with craftsmanship, materials, and design. Comfortable all day long and way into the night.

First, for my feet, the boots were true to size. You may struggle the first time you put the boot on, but once you wear them around for a few hours, the leather breaks in very nicely. I am very happy with the sizing, the look and the comfort of this boot.

I bought these boots last year, intending to use them as light snow boots. Instead, they've become my absolute favorite pair of shoes, period. My only complaint is that they clearly weren't stored well before I got them, the leather was incredibly dry and required a lot of conditioning.

There are Docs, some good some suck but these babies are something special and just right. I got two pairs, wearing them daily for four years, cannot seem to defeat these boots nor tire of them. They are the coolest boots ever made.

None more comfortable. 3 years of desert tech work seen many extremes and my complaint - too soft in the shank for this boot. Best otherwise. I have black also, yellow sole threads coming apart?

I have to wear steel toes offshore, and these are one of my boots of choice. They break in quickly and are easy to slide on and off without the boot taking your sock with it. The extra padding around the ankle has saved mine many times when walking on uneven surfaces. They add some protection and rigidity to the boot to keep you from twisting your ankle if you step partially into a hole. They also have saved my ankles from impacts on the sides many times. The sole can wear out quickly in abrasive surfaces and I have torn a lug off the sole working in an area with scrap steel, so something with a more durable sole might suit you better in a more aggresive work environment. The more indestructible version of this boot that I prefer is the Doc Martens 7A43 ST WP Rigger Boot. If Zappos had them, that would be my 1st choice.

The shaft of the boot is a little narrow, not real wide for easy pull on. Durable boot, I think they run a tad big according to my foot. I am usually a 7 1/2. Are is ok, a little flat. I have a very high arch so it depends on how your arch is. I bought these to work around the yard. They work pretty well and I hope they break in a little, mostly the shaft.

I wear the steel toe version at work and the non steel toe everywhere else during winter months. I do not quite get two years out of the soles but for less than this I just buy another pair. This last pair seemed a little tight at first but they broke in over a week or so.

I had a pair in the steel toe version before I bought these. I would still be be wearing them if hadn't worn a hole in the toe. They were still comfortable after three years just a little to beat up for visiting potential clients. The soles do wear down fairly quickly, but the old boots are still good enough to wear out to a job site or yard work. I will buy the non-steel toe again and again. Overall good boot at a good price!

Zappos is the most awesome business I've ever dealt with. If you have a problem with your product or whatever it may be, Zappos will make it right. My son loves his boots. Great product.

I really like these boots. Very comfortable and well made. I would recommend the next size up from what you would normally wear. With the padding around the ankle it can be a little snug to get on. However once on, the padding helps hold the boot firmly to your foot and feels good on your ankle. The boot really needs a loop in the back for pulling it on. The side loops work but I still find my heal pushing the back down which causes me to have to reach to that back and pull the boot top up to get my foot in. Great boot and good looks and very well made.

Bought these looking for a pull on (no laces) boot with very good ankle support. The on/off ease and ankle support were the most important features. I really like the style - they wear well in very casual to moderate casual dress situations. The ankle support is exactly what I was looking for especially given the on/off ease - far better than anything else I tried. Comfort could be better, but they are improving as they break in (have had them for about 2 months - occasional wear). A different pair of cushioned soles may be necessary.

Tough to get on my feet at first. Once I had them on I was quite pleased with the fit and comfort. Love the way they look.

As a follow up to my previous comments: after two weeks these boots were properly broken in. Saddle soap worked well in the process, but it darkens the shade of the leather. Also, during the second week some of the stitching for the side ankle cushion came undone and had to be repaired. Overall these boots are terrific for those who have a tendency to roll their ankles, as the soles are wide and the ankle support is terrific.

The solid leather construction is what I would expect of a Doc Martin and as this is my work boot on a construction site, I am happy that it is so durable. The insole supplied, however, was of poor quality and may have been meant to be replaced. The leather is difficult to break in. This is my second day wearing them on the job and I am considering the purchase of a boot stretcher to help loosen the leather. I have applied saddle soap and mink oil in hopes these products will assist in the breaking in of the leather.
