Unfortunately for me these boots did not work out in any way. I am a petite person and they just felt like lead on my feet and were too big looking. However, quality is beautiful and I will try another Frye style. Something that is a little more delicate in weight. So, back they go (how sad). Zappos' customer service is top notch, as usual.

Love the style, material and design of the boot. Had to send them back because they hurt my ankles so badly that I could barely walk around. It feels like the leather seaming on the sides where the ankles are buckles in such a way, that the weight of the leather causes the seaming to protrude inward and rub against my ankles. I was so disappointed to have to send the back because they really are well made.

Zappos called them 'distressed' but they were clearly defective- the right boot being perfect and left boot having issues that look like manufacturing errors rather then 'distress'. Also the upper parts of the boot aren't the same size (though the soles are).
