I recently bought the belted Harness boots, and I absolutely love them. They are so comfortable and feel as if I’ve had them for years. These are my third pair of Frye boots. I have the Campus style boots, and I also recently bought the Frye Engineer, which I also adore. Since buying both the belted Harness and Engineers within the past two months, I have not worn any other shoe in my closet. I just recently ordered the Frye Harness in black and cannot wait to get them. Frye are now my favorite boot makers.

Frye Belted Harness 12R boot - Got these in the distressed brown. Got a blister on my bunion on the first wear, but after that break-in period - comfy and no problems. These boots look great poking out under a pair of jeans or tucked in. I have several pairs of Frye boots and this is my 2nd pair of harness boots. Very well made and comfortable. Can't beat Zappos RAPID delivery, too!

What a way to shop - Love the boots...they are super comfortable. I don’t think I have gone a day without wearing them since I got them. I had a tiny problem with them and Zappos handled it so quickly that I will always shop with them...they have customer service down to a science...

Gorgeous Boot! These boots are awesome, I've wanted a pair of Frye's forever, and this style is so cool. The fit is right on, and they are comfortable immediately! The brown is varied and beautiful. The quality is way up there. Love them! I get compliments every time I wear them.

Frye Boot Review - I agree with previous reviews. I did order this boot a 1/2 size smaller. They fit well at this size. The leather is so soft on these boots. Many compliments to date.

I love this boot! I wanted a pair of these back in the seventies and never got them. Now I'm a cool, hip granny. I wear them with skirts and jeans. I get lots of compliments. No problem breaking them in either. They're a nice thick leather but break in easily. Ordered my true shoe size 9.5 and they fit great

I love Frye Boots - I purchased the black Frye plain Harness boots last year and adore them. I saw this style on someone else and really liked the silhouette of this design and the buckle at the heel. This has a more straightforward and less western heel shape, which I find far more versatile than the other boots. They fit beautifully and they look amazing. I get tons of compliments every time I wear them. They are heavy, but I wear them with a winter sock and find them easy to walk in and wear. This is a very nice color, too… truly the variation of a chestnut with lighter reddish tones and deeper brown tones. FABULOUS BOOT and WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Great Boots - These boots are exactly what I was looking for. They have a western/biker feel, but not too over the top. The only complaint that I have is that they are a bit heavy. I ordered a half size down and maybe I should have ordered a whole size down because they slip in the back. I wear them with heavy socks and it does the trick. I am very happy with them and the chestnut color is cool and distressed. Thanks again Zappos for a great pair of boots!

Straight up classic boot - This was a great purchase for me. I used to be snooty thinking these weren't cowboy enough, but I finally got a pair - they fit great. A little heavy, but you get used to that and it's because of good construction and solid sole & heel. Goodyear sole does not slip. No break in period at all; comfortable from the get-go. True to size, great with jeans and skirts both.

Awesome, beautiful boot - This is a serious boot -- gorgeously crafted. The kind of romping stomping boot that makes you walk taller and with authority. Felt great right from the first time. Can handle heavy weather. Looks great with both skirts and pants. I found the 12R more comfortable than the 12W which has a more tapered and slightly higher heel. The 12R is MY boot. GREAT BOOT!!

Definitely a must have luxury item! These boots feel and look exceptional. However, they are definitely a half size large. I normally wear a 6 and purchased a 5.5. The 5.5 was a bit snug across my forefoot, but felt like it was made for me after only one wear. The leather is thick, rich, supple and worth every penny. The boot feels very substantial and as if it will last through many years. Love it!

Great Looking - I love my new Frye boots. I ended up getting a ½ size bigger and I don't regret it. They break in very easily and are comfortable. They look great with skirts and jeans. The leather on this particular pair is getting a worn look pretty quickly, but it adds to the character of the boot.

First Frye boot ever owned - This is the first Frye boot I have owned, and I love it! The look is a classic that will never go out of style and it is very comfortable. A bit heavy at first, but you get use to the weight of the boot. This will not be my last Frye purchase.

Stylish boot - I really love the look of these boots. The added detail on the harness is especially nice. These felt comfortable right when I put them on. The weight of the boot is a bit heavy but you do get used to it. I bought a half size smaller than my usual size and the fit is perfect. Zappos' super fast shipping is impressive!

Love these boots! I ordered these Frye Harness boots in the Brown/Slate combo. I normally wear an 8 1/2 medium, but ordered down one size as recommended by others. The 8 fits perfectly in length and width! The slate color is between blue and black - really nice and the brown is a nice distressed dark brown. These look super cute with bootcut jeans and the price on this color combo is great considering the high quality of the product.

These are beautiful and comfortable boots, as others have pointed out. I'm usually a 7- 7.5, and on the advice of other reviewers I sized down. They are very narrow, I have a medium width foot, and the left boot pinched my toes terribly. Wish I had gone for a 7.5 for the extra width, but hoping it will continue to loosen up.

Most comfortable Frye, but toe box is quite long - I do love this boot, more so than the Engineer which I had first (and my dog chewed up one, so I needed new Frye’s). The only thing I don't care for is the very long toe box. I feel like it makes my feet look big (I am a seven--not so large, but I don't want my feet to look like boats). Otherwise, very comfy and I get a lot of compliments.

Great boots - I am a standard size 8B but ordered the 7 1/2 based on other peoples reviews. I had to return them for the 8. These boots are very true to size. I also have a pretty narrow foot and these boots are the perfect width for my feet. The only boots I’ve found that were not too wide. They were comfortable right away. No break in period needed. The arch support is so so and I found that I needed to add an insole for extra support but there isn't much room to add insoles and I’m pretty sure that if you have wider feet, you would not be able to add insoles. These are a great boot and they look good with everything.

I wear Frye boots every day from Fall to Spring and own at least 7 pair, because I've not found any shoe or boot that is as kind to my feet while additionally being resolable/repairable and never out of style. I'm on my feet all day for long hours. I'm a heel striker with good arches but a tendency towards heel tenderness. I am consistently a size 11 women's across styles and years of Frye boots. I agree with the other reviewers who say that the toe box is narrow. I've had the boots on for an hour (on clean carpet due to my immediate suspicions that they won't work) and my tarsal-metatarsal joints just feel squeezed. I'm putting these back in the box and waiting for the men's version to arrive, which, btw, is *half* as much, price-wise and looks to be exactly the same boot. I am hoping that they are cut wider, but I see that a wide width can be ordered as well. The heel is definitely loose, but I have other Frye boots with that type of heel fit and find it as a comfortable option, though not my favorite fit. It does remind you of wearing a Dansko clog. It does require choosing your socks carefully, as the boot is self-lined, so the rough side of the leather will want to grab a looser sock and pull it down when you walk. I wear snug fitting smart wool socks when I have a boot with this fit, and that works just fine. Also, the color balancing on the zappos website makes this boot look like it has some gorgous red mahogany undertones. I *wish* that were the case, but it truly is a chestnut color, with more orange undertones. The color balancing on the image of these boots on the Frye website is more accurate. All of this said, they are still a drop-dead gorgeous and sturdy boot. The harness details are as good as they look and I'm really hoping the men's version of this boot is cut wider in the toe box, so I might own a pair, even better, for significantly less dough for what the women's boot is priced at. I'm grateful Zappos makes it so easy to try on and return shoes so that you can get exactly the fit you need. Good luck to you and maybe order the men's version if you run into the same problem.

I really wanted to love these boots, and I think that if I wore a smaller size shoe, I would. On my 8.5 foot, I just felt these looked too masculine. I also thought they ran big... I ordered an 8.5, my normal size in flats/heels/sneakers, and my foot was swimming. Again, could just be my inexperience with boots, though... The leather on these boots was GORGEOUS. I sent these boots back, but I plan to look at other Frye styles to fine 'the one'.
