A Sloppy fit for a narrow foot - These are well made, long wearing, great looking, but they are too wide and loose on a narrow foot, from the heel through the toe. Thick socks and insoles make them barely wearable, but if you have narrow feet, (which are really hard to get decent knock around boots for!) try Kenneth Cole styles instead, they aren't quite as cavernously roomy in a B width as Frye's.

I am an 8.5, with rather wide feet. More wide than a lot of regular widths, but not always wide enough for wide width. I can't buy women's Birkenstocks, for example, because they're too narrow. I have a lot of Fryes but have always wanted these ones, and they have not disappointed. I got an 8.5, and they're perfect. I also tried on a men's 7 (so women's 9), which had a slightly shorter foot than the women's 8.5, with a slightly wider foot, but a narrower calf. The width of the men's footbed was amazing. It was perfect! but the calves were too narrow for me. The women's were the keepers. I have been wearing them with thick smartwool socks and they're breaking in beautifully. They even feel wide enough now! I have a regular harness (16 y/o) so I know how they'll shape to your feet. I am so glad I have the 8.5. Remember, your heel is supposed to slip in these boots. If it doesn't, they're too short. I bought my first harness boots a tad too small all those years ago and now can only wear them with tights (but my feet grew when I had a child). These are my new favorites, they really do go with everything. The belt makes them a little less tough than the regular harness, I think, a little less harsh. I don't need to pair my outfit so thoughtfully. I have thick calves, and can even wear these with skinny jeans tucked in. My calves are too thick right now for my 15R Engineers because they're too high and I have to be really thin for them. But the 12R hits at just the right spot. They're PERFECT! Oh, also I have horrible feet and am pregnant right now, so I got these because I know they're structured enough for my pregnant feet. No, they don't have a contoured footbed, but with the shape of the last, the solid leather, and the size of the heel, they provide my flat feet with enough structure that I can wear them comfortably all day. I can't wear flats or anything without enough support. These are the best!

These are my favorite Frye boots!! I love the style and rugged look. I conditioned my boots with Cadillac premium lotion and now they look even better than before. The leather is so soft and lush and has a heavenly smell to it. I will never buy any other brand of boots. I am dedicated to Frye boots!!

I love these boots! The heavenly smell of real leather. The wonderful color and feel of a well-made boot - delightful! I chose these as my Christmas gift from my husband. I was really late with my order, but received them very quickly - in two or three days. Arrived just in time for Christmas! I have yet to wear them that someone didn't comment on how cool or great they are! They were a bit stiff for a week or two. I wore some pretty heavy socks to help break them in. Now they are super comfortable!

These boots are the perfect choice for being on my feet all day. They look great under pants and over or under jeans. The leather is extremely soft and durable and they have just the right amount of edge for my style sense.

Love these boots. Made in the USA. Great quality. They do run 1/2 size too big. Had to return, but ordered a new pair. Love them!

Love these boots! The leather is so soft and they look great with everything. I'm only sorry that I waited so long to purchase these boots. I wore these all over Las Vegas for 3 days straight and my feet never hurt at all. If you've been on the fence about spending too much on these boots, you will definitely get your money's worth. Buy them now and you won't regret it for even a second!

These boots are amazing. I've had them over a year and wear them often. They look great with jeans AND skirts. I have a muscular calf so many boots do not fit well, but these are great. I have wider feet (A wide shoe flops right off, but regular ones tend to be tight). I tried many boots and these ones are ok. They are a little narrow, but a thin sock works ok. I can't wear them every day, but one full day at a time is fine. The quality is great. The look is sharp. And the non-skid bottom is a necessity.

I love these boots sooo much! I've had them for about a year now and the downfall to the shape of the toe is that they still give me blisters if i wear very thick socks, but they're pretty warm in the winter and they always make me feel a little dressed up. They are one of the few items I have bought and not second-guessed, which says a lot because I am picky. They're worth the price.

I admit I was confused by all the discussion of which size to order. I ordered my normal size 8, and found that the boots fit perfectly with thicker athletic type socks. When I tried thinner socks, the toe box felt a little tight, probably because my foot was slipping forward. I would not like a smaller size as I think the length would not be as correct. Love the boots! Very comfortable right out of the box with the right socks.

Love these boots! I originally ordered the Harness 8R, but could not even get my foot in the boot. So I returned them and got the Belted Harness 12 R and I ordered a half-size up, but that was not necessary. They are a little big, but I kept them anyway. They are comfortable and I get a lot of compliments on them.

I've become a Frye fanatic. I saw someone who had these boots and I just had to have them too. I'm glad I ordered them. They are great. I love the way they look with jeans, dresses, leggings... They're a combination of a cowboy boot and an engineer boot. I did have to reorder them in a half size smaller. But with Zappos awesome next day delivery I was wearing them immediately.
