These shoes are are very comfortable and supportive for working and walking with superior arch support.

This is my second pair of these. I wear them as slippers and love them. Originally I bought them because I was having trouble finding slippers with enough arch support after my high arches gave me several years of plantar faciitis pain. My podiatrist recommended Birkenstocks. The color is nice; in person it is sort of a Weimeriner dog color, which is pretty and versatile. The soft bed is incredibly soft and rivals that of any conventional slipper. You definitely need to buy a size smaller than what you think. I wear a woman's size 8 and a 38 in Birkenstocks. Even though I have very high arches, I prefer these to the new high arch Birkenstocks. They really do conform to your feet over time and my plantar faciitis has not returned as a result of wearing these. Also, I think they are the most attractive and feminine of all the Birk styles.

This is the second pair of this shoe that I have purchased. I wear them all year long in the house. I wish Birkenstock made a narrower shoe. (They don't pretend to be an American narrow.) My other favorite brand is Softwalk narrow.

I like them. Got the size right first time. Very comfortable. I went nine days before wearing another shoe.

I love these. They are super comfortable right out of the box. The are a little warm on hot days but perfect otherwise.

I have worn Birkenstock Boston clogs for many years; this was the first soft footbed I tried. I loved the feel, but the shoe seems much smaller - perhaps due to the extra padding in the footbed? Unfortunately, I had to return them since they were just too small on my left foot ... right foot was perfect. It may be that you need to consider size differentials with the soft footbed, I don't know for sure. I ordered the Bern in its place with a soft footbed since people commented that they ran a little big, so I will see how these work when they arrive.

I love this shoe. This is my second pair of Boston Soft Footbeds. I purchased my first pair (brown) as an alternative to slippers to wear inside the house. I have plantar fasciitis and lower back problems, so I need shoes with excellent support. I bought the black suede clogs to wear outside the house, and find that they pair well with a lot of different pant styles. I am hoping they will also work with black dress pants. I might paint the sidewall of cork black in the heel area, so that the brown cork doesn't stand out so much.

I am going to be doing a lot of traveling and walking this summer so after reading all the absolutely wonderful reviews about the Birkenstock Boston's, I decided to order them. Zappos shipping was incredibly fast and I was super excited to receive the shoes the very next day (yesterday). I normally wear a 9.5 but I wasn't sure how the Birks would fit so I ordered the 40 and 41 (in regular because I have wide feet). The 41 felt big and sloppy and the 40 felt just right. I was immediately impressed with the arch support. However, I wore them all day today - shopping, walking, driving - and my feet were literally throbbing after and hour of shopping. I have two blisters on each foot and the arch of my foot is so, totally aching. I am so sad about this! I opted to wear a light sock today with the hope of preventing any blisters (something that can happen when wearing new shoes for the first time) but that obviously didn't work. I don't understand how so many reviewers said they were able to wear them comfortably right out of the box. I really hope these shoes just need some time to 'break in' and will soon be as comfortable as everyone says they are. Because like I said; I am really, really sad that they caused me so much pain today - I was actually limping. And I obviously can't return them since they're worn. Should these shoes just need a little more time to be broken in (yes, I am going to try them again, in a few days), I will gladly write another review...but for now, they're just not making the cut.

These shoes are as ugly as...well, you know. But my feet love them. Have heard about Birkenstock for years. I tried ordering them from another outlet, had a very disappointing run around to return the wrong order sent to me. I was introduced to Zappos online. Thought I would give the Birk Co. one more try. Because of Zappos there was no disappointment other than a hefty price tag for the more popular styles. Like I said, my feet enjoy them. Zappos, you rock with your service, and I knew I wouldn't have any problem with a return issue. Thank you.

This is my third pair of this style. Simply one of the most comfortable of the many wonderful Birkenstock sandals. I like the closed toe, as it gives more wearing opportunities (it's more like a shoe in appearance, so you can wear it to casual dining, without feeling like you're wearing a sandal)and yet maintains the feel of a sandal.

I just received my Birkenstocks today and I already love them! I wear a size 8 shoe in most cases so I ordered the size 39 (8-8.5US) in narrow and they fit wonderfully! Reviews said to order the narrow if you don't have wide feet because the regular size was wide, so I did. Just right! I had a knock-off cheaper pair of clogs and they don't even come close to the comfort of my real ones! I tried them on with regular socks and also some thicker socks and they still fit wonderfully. I'll be wearing them all of the time! The Barn Red color is so cool and can be worn with nearly anything! I'd recommend these to anybody!

These are great - as advertised and as all the high school and college kids say. Very soft and comfortable insoles, easy to knock around in. No wonder they're classics.

These shoes are wonderful, and are extremely comfortable! I bought the narrow size, and ended up having to get a size bigger than I normally wear. But once I did that, they fit perfectly!

(Updating an earlier review.) I was concerned about the material at the arch -- it was so soft it kept catching under my foot as I walked. I wore light socks to keep it from doing that for a week or so. After that it was fine, even with bare feet. So don't worry if that happens to you! Perfect shoe!

Wonderful out of the box. Soft footbed is amazing. I wear these shoes at least five hours a day (as house slippers).

I am in love with these shoes. I wish they were snow proof but other than that, they are amazing. The comfort is superb. I have plantar fasciitis and these really improve the feeling in my feet and relieve pain. They are actually more attractive on my feet than I expected them to be.

Very comfortable. I am usually between a 7½ and 8, so I ordered both the 38 and 39. The 39 was way too big; 38 fit perfectly.

Love the shoes, very comfortable. I do not purchase shoes from anywhere but Zappos. Zappos always has my size, color and the brands I like to wear.

I love this shoe! It fits my delicate feet really well. The leather is very soft but I like the suede much better than the stiff leather one. Thanks to Zappos for great service once again!

I purchased these shoes for my son who wears nothing else. However, this is the first time he has had the soft footbed. For an extra $5, it is worth it. More traction than with the leather footbed and a bit more comfortable. Yes, softer. They are true to size with a moderate arch. He has flat feet so a flat arch and high arch are not comfortable. These shoes are perfect.

Love this shoe, the brown color is a softer suede than the taupe suede. Upper is so soft that shoe will not stay opened when your foot is not in it. Very comfortable shoe, really helps my feet when they are in pain from playing sports.

I purchased Birkenstock sandals in the summer and they were the most comfortable sandal I ever owned. I had to buy these shoes for the fall. They are so comfortable that I find myself wearing them more than my slippers. If you are looking for comfort these are by far the best!

I had a pair of these before (hard footbed) for almost ten years. After being re-soled several times, I lost them. Great shoe; I wear them everyday all year.

These shoes will twist your socks if they are not buckled tightly enough. Can be irritating. Also when slipping them on and off the tabs at the top of the shoe can bend. But once they are on, they are quite comfy. I really like the soft Birkenstock footbed.
