I recently started wearing Birkenstocks and wonder why I waited so long to become a convert. Yes, they're pricey, but worth it. The soft footbed makes all the difference, I had tried on the regular footbed in the past and found it hard and uncomfortable but the soft footbed is great. I need a wide shoe due to bunions and the wide toebox is perfect for me. They're comfortable with socks or without. One minor comment on the color of these blue Bostons- they're much more like navy than the color in the photo. It's ok, they're very neutral, but I was expecting something lighter. I have the dark brown ones too and ordered the gray, but the grey and dark brown were so similar in color, that I returned the gray, even though I liked it.

I almost sent these back because the first time I tried them on, they felt really loose. The suede is very soft and I thought that even though I had the shoes buckled as tight as possible, they would fall off my feet while I was walking. Am I glad I gave them a chance though! They are so comfortable, and after wearing them once I realized my initial impression was wrong. I also ordered a pair with the regular footbed, and these two pairs are the only shoes I wear. They aren't the prettiest shoes, but they make my feet very happy. Great for long walks too.

I live in Chacos all summer, so when winter comes around, I'm at a loss! My hubby has has a pair of Birks for 15 years now that he uses as his indoor shoes and wanted me to have some too. Out of the box the regular width felt a bit too roomy on top, but I didn't think the footbed should be any narrower...I had read reviews that unless you have very wide feet, you should get the narrow. My feet measure 4.25 in at their widest point across, and regular width is perfect. The softer footbed is nice; it doesn't take too long to break them in. I adjusted to the looser feel in the top of the shoe, and they work great with thick socks. I even love them barefoot! So, the price is a lot for "house shoes" but I think they are worth it...especially if I wear them for 15 years like the hubs.

I have worn Birkenstock sandals for years, but never have I had their clogs. I have flat feet and was dying to try the "soft" footbed. I ordered a 37 since I usually wear that in Birkenstock sandals. They were just too small. My toes kept bumping the edges of the clog. I exchanged for a 38 and am SO HAPPY. It is literally like walking on a cloud. My feet never tire. The taupe color does get dirty easily, and shows spots, but I don't mind. I will wear these until they fall apart!

I have had Arizona's for years and wanted something for winter. Boston's fit the bill. Fit is better with socks, but that was my intention. Soft footbed is terrific.

Classic Birkenstock - super comfortable, nicely made. They feel a little big but I think that's also normal for Birks. Love the way the gray felt looks.

The shoe was quite large on my foot. I called and found a very helpful person who told me to get the size smaller and a narrow. She sent the right size and provided me with a postage sticker to send the first shoe back. The replacement fits well and I'm happy.

Love! I've worn Birk's sandals for years, but this is my first actual shoe. I decided I needed the same comfort during the winter too. I had to return the first pair & re-order it in the narrow (even though I don't normally wear narrow)...much better. The Birk footbed is so perfect for me, that I even keep a pair next to the bed for "slippers." Love Zappos service - they make it so easy and enjoyable!

Love these shoes. Still have to grip a little to keep them on, as with the classic Birkenstock sandals. Might buy the clogs with the back for a second pair.

Comfortable shoe. Did not need a "breaking in" period to feel great. Be aware that this style runs wide. I wear medium width and needed a narrow.

It's like heaven sent down a perfect shoe for those suffering from foot issues...don't even hesitate to buy these! Yes, they are a tad bit dorky, and yes your friends may even tease you for wearing them. However, when you slip your poor painful feet into a pair of Birks all that goes out the window! None of that matters. Only the comfort and support you receive. So, wear them proud my friends and your feet will thank you.

I ordered a wide and found the support at back arch to be uncomfortable with very little padding. It also felt tight in that area; therefore, I am sending them back. I always wear Birkenstock and this is the first time they are uncomfortable!

I broke my toe and these shoes were perfect for the weeks it took to heal - definitely a "wide" fit in the standard width. Very comfortable, but definitely a "hippie" vibe stylistically - not a surprise if you're shopping for Birks.

These are the perfect winter clog - plenty of room for wool socks - great support - and easy to slip on & off.

Not as much support as the regular (harder) sole. :( They do feel instantly "broken in" and comfortable in the footbed but I can tell they are not as supportive (feel it in my back and heels) so it makes me regret not just getting the regular ones. I do like the oiled brown leather look and it's wearing well, even with toddlers drawing letters with their nails on them they rub out. Note, the leather part (upper) is not broken in though. And for look, well, I'm a heels, booties, sassy-shoes gal by day and Birks are my at-home, save-my-back shoes (much to my hub's dismay) and are often worn as slippers of sorts. So they are not particularly attractive on a woman's foot but they work, and are comfortable but for $140 I'm wishing I would have gotten the regular footbed, (though perhaps someone with very sensitive feet would like this one) and possibly the suede upper instead. Footbed Size ran true to other Birks, though these were my first closed-toe so getting used to the harder leather all over has been an adjustment. For reference, I'm an 8.5 or 9 in heels, 9 or 9.5 in flats and I'm a regular (to a bit narrow) width. I got a 40 regular and am glad I didn't get narrow, especially with the closed toe fit difference.

Ordered a 40 Narrow, I have been told I have narrow feet, the last thing I wanted was these to stretch and slide off too easily. The Narrow width was great but the 40 was slightly too large. Trying a 39 hoping that it will be a perfect fit. I typically wear an 8.5-9 depending on the shoe brand and style. Buying them as an easy winter shoe for work. Typically wear snow boots and then change shoes inside.

The fabric on the top of the shoe is of such a consistency that it will not stand upright on its own -- thus because there was no tissue or anything supporting it, it was so mushed down it was impossible to just slide your foot into the shoe. Plus it was packed with no tissue and the swede on the top of the shoes was flattened and shiny. Not what I was expecting.

I have fairly wide, sensitive feet with arch pain. These shoes were recommended to me, but I put off buying them for a long time because of the "clunky" look. Once I realized that life is too short to spend it in uncomfortable shoes, I went ahead and got a pair of black leather Bostons with the soft footbed. Wow, I have never had such comfortable shoes. The footbed is firm but supportive in all the right places, with just the right amount of cushioning. My toes are happy with plenty of room to flex the way they were meant to. The leather is beautiful and of excellent quality. To top it off, I wore them to a busy big box store and nobody looked at my shoes, so all thoughts of being self-conscious in them were just silly and wasted energy. I wear a size 36 in other European shoes, and the 36 regular Bostons fit perfectly with medium-weight socks.

Love these slip on clogs. The soft footbed is nice; however, I prefer the regular sole. I love these shoes though and will keep ordering.

I am so very impressed with the customer service being helpful, efficient, and friendly. Not only that, the delivery was amazingly quick. I had an initial problem with the first pair of shoes and returned them, a process made easy by Zappos. A replacement pair was delivered the next day without charging me again! I plan to order again when I next travel to the USA.

These are wonderful shoes. I bought them to use as my fall/winter house shoes. slippers can be so ugly and you can't step outside in them. these are pricey but perfect to wear in the home instead of ugly slippers and then wear them out as well. Don't need to tell you that with care Birks last forever and can easily be repaired. The investment is worth it. FYI for most women, unless you know you have a super wide foot, the small or narrow foot bed is best. They have less of that boxy full toe box and look more proportioned to the body.

This is my first time trying the soft foot bed and I am very pleased. I usually wear a 7 1/2-8 shoe and my foot is a C width and I have high arches, and prone to plantar fasciitis. I went with the 38reg. and the fit is perfect. I have worn them almost every day since I received them and they have been comfortable from day one. No foot fatigue no break in time at all.

These clogs are extremely comfortable - actually the most comfortable clogs ever! Super supportive and has totally helped me with plantar fasciitis. Styling is what you make of it - clogs are not for a night out. Materials and construction are first rate.

This was my first pair of Birkenstock's and I was so excited because of all the hype. For the price I thought I would be walking on clouds but no. I am very disappointed, they are hard and uncomfortable. I began to feel heel spurs and wore them more to see if I can get used to them so I can't return them. So sad and they were so expensive!
