I have worn Birkenstocks for years and always wear the same size (40 N). This is my first pair with the soft foot bed and they were too short. Returned them for a 41 N. Although I have not worn them much yet they seem comfortable.

I absolutely love these shoes! I wear my Florida Birkenstocks all summer long and have been yearning for something similar for winter. Although not appropriate for snow, I love these shoes and have not worn another pair since I received them two weeks ago. They have the same great arch support as my Birkenstock sandals. The regular width is wide, but I normally order a wide and the regular fits good, maybe slightly more wide. I wish Brikenstock made dressier shoed for work, but I see myself living in these at home and for most other activities.

I love these shoes! I walk 10-15 miles per day, and found these comfy from day 1! I love the soft footbed. I have also gotten a ton of compliments on the style. They are cute with yoga pants or jeans and with or without socks. I am an US woman's 8, but always wear a 38 normal width in Birkenstock and this was no exception, perfect fit. Love these and would recommend to anyone.

These shoes are fantastic. Not the prettiest shoes I've ever owned but man are they comfortable. Might be why I own six different pairs.

I absolutely love these shoes. They just feel so sturdy and supportive. It is winter here, but with thick socks I find them warm and perfectly supportive for all my comings and goings as a mom of four. I wanted beige/taupe shoes that I could wear with black, grey, or brown. The color I bought looks excellent with everything! I worried that they would look too bulky, but even though I bought regular width, the adjustable little strap in front allows me to custom fit them. I cannot tell you how comfortable they are!

This is a beautiful blue color, so dark it is almost black. Of course it has the fit we have all come to expect. I would like a little more pizazz in this shoe (like imbedded swirls) but the fit and color are great.

I love these shoes! I got them in Taupe Suede and the color is a little more cool-toned than the picture. I have another pair of Birkenstock sandals and I love this pair just as much! I will say that they seem to run a bit large and wide, although it's nothing unbearable. I experienced this with my other pair of Birks too so I don't think it is these shoes in particular. Something that helps that is tightening the straps. They fit better and they look smaller on your feet (in my opinion)! When I sprayed them with suede spray, they got a bit darker in color. They molded to my feet very quickly and are very comfortable. The break-in period was short and not very uncomfortable at all. They feel and look nice with and without socks, so they are perfect for all seasons. Sometimes I think about how crazy the price of these shoes is, but the quality is excellent so I suppose it's worth it. Overall, I am very happy with these shoes!

As described. High quality. Fit well. I'm assuming that they'll last a long time. My wife has had a pair since the 90's. I use them to wear around the house.

These are fantastic -- like all the other Birks I have. The soft bed is a little different -- very soft compared to regular Birks. The leather is oiled blue and stands up well to scuffs, etc. They have some variation in the leather so it's not completely monotone -- it looks better than I expected.

Very comfortable right out of the box. I got these for work, standing on my feet and lots of walking. I've gotten several complements on the shoes. They didn't look as clunky in person as on the computer. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I really like these. I wanted something that could wear when it is colder out. The color of these are a beautiful deep ink blue. They fit like all my same sized sandels and the soft footbed was a lovely bonus.

Over the years I've had at least a couple of pairs of Birkenstock sandals which I've loved, however the soft footbed and the enclosed style are new to me. I love the soft footbed! It is just as supportive as the regular style but it has a bit of soft cushioning and felt great right out of the box. I did find the leather uppers required some breaking in but after a week or so of wearing they are feeling much better. I'm sure that the leather is going to wear like nails so for me, it was worth it. I have big feet and normally wear a women's size 11 wide. I find that the 42 regular in Birkenstocks fits me great. And Zappos, you are the best! These shoes were at my door less than 24 hours after I placed my order. Amazing!

So happy Birkenstock is back in style! I wore a pair of Boston's for about 10 years, about 20 years ago in high school and college. I ordered the Boston with the soft footbed in my same old size 40 (which is a full size smaller than my actual size, which should be a 41 as I am a women's 10 normally), and it worked beautifully. I love the new softer footbed and am wearing them right out of the box. My feet are singing!

Love my new Birkies. Have had 3 Birkenstock sandals in past, but never an enclosed toe. First pair of soft footbed (this is a great feature). Was a little worried leather would be too hard, but very comfortable. Will definitely buy again when needed.

I just love this shoe. It's the first pair of shoes I've purchased in over a year. I am a minimum wage earner (I work on my feet for eight hours with no sitting) and have worked long and hard to save the money to purchase these to help preserve my feet. They feel like a slice of heaven. Birks are the best! (Next to Zappos!)

I don't know why people love these things. I've wanted a pair for years, and I finally get them and they are terrible. They are supposed to be "soft footbed". Well, there was nothing soft about it. It felt like concrete covered in suede that was all pilled up. The shoes looked like they had already been worn, didn't come in a Birkenstock box (just a plain shoebox) and there were some Birkenstock tags thrown into the box that probably used to be attached to the shoe. For this much money, I would have expected the shoes to be unworn and packaged a bit nicer. Well, if they'd felt good, the box and all of the other stuff probably wouldn't have bothered me. They were the right size lengthwise, but the arch of the left shoe felt like it was cutting my foot to the bone. I have a normal wide foot, not an extra wide foot, and all the reviews rave about how these things are so wide. Well, don't you believe it. They are wide, but the arch sticks up so high and hard it takes away from the width. I bought them because I have some back issues, and these made my back hurt instantly when I tried to take a few steps around my carpeted home. No way will I ever buy this brand again. I know they have lots of fans, but I'm not going to break my back just to break in a pair of shoes that take (what I'm told) is a very long time to break in. Too much money for the amount of pain, trouble and the suede also felt super hot and too nubby, not smooth in any way.

I was so sad that these were too small for me (and my size was unavailable). These are so comfortable! I mean if you like regular Birks, these will make you so happy!

Great shoe, but do NOT get the black suede! The color rubbed off on my feet and my socks. Had to return them and Zappos was amazing as usual and replaced it with another color. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the color problem.

These are great shoes and so good for your feet. I got the leather for winter and will wear socks with them. I wear a size 7 in regular shoes so I order the 36 in these. If you don't get bad weather, the suede is nice too.

Perfect fit. Super comfortable for walking. I like that I wore them a couple times and the leather started looking a little broken in. Really nice finish.

Awesome. They feel great and if you love Birkenstock as I do they are "cute." I still have my first pair from Germany 20 years ago and they are in great shape and are still my go to sandals.

I am fairly new to Birkenstock footwear and have preferred Merrill and Keen in the past 7-10 years. I have placed my feet in Birks before and not been impressed cause they just didn't feel good from the first day. I was not convinced that they could be broken in and become a comfortable shoe. I did finally bite the bullet and try a pair of Birk sandals this summer. I find that at the end of the day my other "comfort" shoes didn't feels so great and I couldn't wait to kick them off and put my Birks back on (no open toe shoes allowed at work). This is my second pair of Birkenstock shoes that I have purchased in the last 3 months and this pair did NOT require any break in period what so ever!! The footbed was softer than the sandal Birk that I have been wearing this summer and immediately was comfortable. I cannot say they are the best looking shoes that I own but I will say that they are the most comfortable and in my opinion that is worth every penny. Now that I have closed toe Birks and can wear them to work, my feet are the happiest they've been in years!! Bring on the hard concrete floors, I can take it!

My first pair of Birkenstocks and I'm in love! I wear size 7.5, have a narrow foot, and high arch. Size 38 narrow fit me perfectly. They were incredibly comfortable the first time I put my foot in and don't require any "breaking in."
