Arthritis pain relieved -

My Husband says this shoe is the most comfortable shoe he has ever worn. He has one hand and it is extremely important that he has a shoe that does not tie. He would definitely buy this shoe again, and the service was excellent.

Since I tend to turn my left ankle outward when I walk, the additional lateral support provided by the NB 811 is a great benefit. The shoe is very comfortable and I wear it all the time. I wish that it came in a light brown color. For some reason the velcro straps are a bit too short.

I ordered these for my dad, a pilot who had tripped and fallen a few too many times in the hangar while wearing a pair of Land's End shoes which had heavier soles. He has reported that these shoes are very comfortable, easy to put on, and that they have reduced (actually eliminated) his incidence of what he calls "asphalt tattoos."

I actually bought these for my son thinking they'd be good for him-- he wears many New Balance shoes. Problem was, he's 31 yrs old and felt they looked more like something an older man would wear which is why I'm returning them for something else. But he said they felt good and true to size. That's the best review I can give you....an honest one.

Awesome shoe (so my Dad says!)

Needed a new pair of walking shoes for a trip we took to Croatia and Slovenia. My 14 narrow foot is a challenge to fit, but the pullover straps promised the ability to tighten them up - or loosen if needed. They fit well, were comfortable and kept my feet dry when we hit a little rain and a touch of snow. I'm very pleased. Of course, I can't write this without mentioning the great customer service from Zappos. The shoes were delivered almost immediately, and if they hadn't fit I could have returned them - at no cost to me. Our son in college wears a size 16, so we'll find some online with Zappos and send them directly to him without fear of problems.

I really like these walking shoes. I\'ve been wearing them practically every day for more years than I can remember. I\'ve probably gone through around eight or more pair of these shoes. I think they\'re probably the most comfortable walking shoe I\'ve ever tried on. I used to wear them with an orthodic and there was plenty of room. Now I don\'t use the orthodic and I enjoy the shoes as much as previously.\r\n\r\nMy only beef with these shoes is that as they get more broken in I need to pull the velcro straps further to get a comfortable fit, but there\'s no hook far enough down on the shoe to secure the strap as it\'s pulled further down. The result is that the end of the strap tends to curl up a little. I\'ve been able to temporarily remedy this by extending the hook part with velcro tape bought in a hardware store. Until I find a more comfortable shoe this seems like a minor inconvenience.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have owned. I bought them to replace my worn out walking shoes, but now I seem to have them on 24-7. They appear well-made and I expect to get years of service from them.
I like the dignified look of the shoes.
The "bone" color is not accurate. My shoes are more like concrete or battle-ship gray in color.
I just wore them on a 5-mile walk in Mexico. While very comfortable, they were not as breathable as I would have liked. So a pair of running shoes would probably be more useful for long walks outside.
I specially like the fact that they are made in the USA.
I would buy another pair of these without hesitation. For now, I think I will order me a pair of New Balance running shoes in size 7 4E to supplement these.
While Zappos shoes aren't cheap, the savings in time and gas looking around for shoes in my size makes it ok.

THE ALMOST PERFECT SHOE -
The New Balance MW 811 (hook and loop) is a very nice and comfortable shoe. This is my second pair and they wear well and hold up pretty good. At the end of the last pair, the upper part of the heel was beginning to get soft and lose support, but that was a long time into the wear. Both the old and the new shoes have the same problem. The tongue has slipped to the side and into the side of the shoe. It needs to be stitched to hold it in place. Otherwise, the shoe is all that I want it to be.

This was all I could find to replace a pair of older, better made, better looking New Balance velcro walkers. They'll do since my main requirement is a wide toe box for diabetic feet, sensitive to rub. At my size 16EE, I literally have no choice.

My dad lost the use of his right side so he needs a show that goes on easily, but can be adjusted as he walks a lot. These are perfect. They look unobtrusive with suits, but are great for walks to the store or the station. Very comfy as well.

These are the only athletic shoes I can find in size 15 B with a hook and loop closure. I wish they were a bit narrower but other than that I have no quibble with them.
