I've had my shoes for about a month. I ordered the size 7 and 7.5 (normal size) because it sounded like I might need a size smaller than I normally wear. I ended up keeping my normal size the 7.5. The 7s were way too narrow and hurt my feet. I think they are heavy and take some getting used to. I found I had to buy an insert to help fill in the height of the shoe, this has helped keep them on. Otherwise I always griping with my toes. Now that I have gotten used to them I really like them. They look great and they are made in the USA.

I wanted to love these shoes. They looked great. But they were too narrow and stiff, and I did not feel confident that they would stretch out enough to become comfortable. I'm afraid they are going back.

Dang, I so wanted to love these shoes, but some combination of size and heaviness didn't work for me. The heavy thing believe it! These have the heft of ski boots, or my Doc Marten boots. You can do some serious clomping around in them. The size thing; maybe they expect you to be wearing heavy socks? I'd say they ran maybe a half size on the large side in the arch area. I'm a reliable size 10 medium, but these 10s just didn't grip my feet enough to stay on with all the weight and a clog heel. Clogs have sort of a different dynamic, you have to use your toes a bit to walk in them. That dynamic just didn't work for me in such a heavy format. Kind of like trying to walk up stairs in loose slippers. (I would have tried a smaller size, but I thought the toe box would be too small then.) Too bad, because it is a beautiful style.

Frye Belted Harness Mule - I am surprised at how heavy these shoes are, compared to my other pairs of cowboy boots. I have both J. Chisholm and Donald J Pliner cowboy boots that are at least half the weight of these mules. And, although I am a perfect size 6 in other domestic brands, these were a half size larger.

Really really wanted to like these but no go. Strap on back is kind of pointless, and falls down. Size is too tight in my regular 7 1/2 and gigantic in 8. And they are super heavy. Sorry Frye. Fail.

I\'ve had a pair of these for a couple of years now. While they look really great, they are quite uncomfortable. My foot is a bit wider and so many medium width shoes actually feel quite narrow. These feel a bit narrow. The leather is very stiff. The shoe is heavy. At the end of a day of normal walking my feet hurt. I had hoped that the shoe would stretch a bit and that over time, they would feel more comfortable.\r\n\r\nUnfortunately I have to completely forget how uncomfortable they are to wear them again. So I may have worn them 5 or 6 time over those two years. I feel like my toe joint is separated.

The shoe was so heavy, and looked very clunky on my size 11 foot. The sole really protrudes out from the base of the shoe. Also very rigid and unforgiving fit-wise. I guess I need a little more "give" in the toe box.

Ouch! After wearing these for any length of time, my feet feel like they've been beat up. They are unbelievably heavy, very narrow (and I wear narrow sizes) and just stiff, hard, and awful.

Love this shoe! Super comfy with or without socks. Love that I can just slip it on and go. I get sooooo many compliments on it because its super unusual.

Just received these and I love them! I bought the tan because I wanted that cowboy look. Ordered my true size 6 and honestly think I could wear the 5 1/2 but I'm keeping these. I have an average width foot and these are a little loose but not bad. They are absolutely gorgeous! Already want to wear them every day! Very well made but that's to be expected from Frye made in USA! These are worth every penny

I had to order down a half size from my usual 7. The 6.5 fits perfectly. I have been looking at them for 3 years and didn't want to spend the money. Caved. Love these shoes and I know I'll wear them into the ground.

I was a bit concerned reading all the reviews, both positive and negative. But for a total Frye person who appreciates the quality and sees them as an investment, these shoes are great! They may be mules, but the are heavy and have the same feel as a full cowboy boot walking around. They run narrow, like all Fryes. If your feet are wide, or even normal, they will probably not work for you. I am a true 6.5, with a narrow heel, and they fit like a glove with normal socks. Perfect length and width in 6.5. Chunky socks will never work in these shoes. If you keep all that in mind, they'll work out great! Otherwise, try a different brand. The real test is if they'll make me take them off for TSA PreCheck as I fly all the time.

I just received them a couple weeks ago and in the break-in process. Love the look and versatility. I want them in black also.

I love my well worn 20 year old Fry Harness boots so i thought i'd give the mule a try- so happy i did! These are super well made, great looking and really comfortable right out of the box. I wear boots year round but these will be a nice alternative for warmer weather.

I got this in the Tan Crazy Horse Leather and almost returned it because, although I liked the fit and the style, the color and distressed look of the leather just look too casual for work. However, they were really great for weekends and I loved how well-made and solid they were so I ended up keeping them and getting the same pair in black to wear for work. They are heavy, but that is because they are a substantial shoe, and I get to feel like I'm getting a little extra work out during my day.

Chunky, but I like the cut as it's not quite cowgirl or punk. It has a nice colour, not quite as "red" as it appears. Neutral, and not too dark or light, likely a 3-season shoe/boot! LOVE IT!

I love Frye boots and shoes, and have five pairs. The Belted Harness Mules are the latest addition to my collection. (They were a lovely birthday present from my husband). I got them in my usual size (6) and they fit perfectly. They are a well crafted, good looking and sturdy pair of mules that go with jeans and skirts. I am not a "mule person" in general (and typically wear boots) but it didn't take me long to get used to these. I was worried about some of the comments about these mules being too heavy since I am 5' 3" and average build. Well, I enjoy their solidness, and love how they look and feel on my feet. I know I am going to get a lot of wear out of them across all seasons.

Gorgeous, classic Frye. The chestnut is more of a rich brown than red. They feel substantial, not too heavy but I'm a size 9, with body to match. Very comfortable. Love em.

I have coveted these shoes for a long time. I have a pair Frye Harness 12R which I love but in reality I'm just not much of a boot gal. These are perfect--have the cool Frye buckle and chunky heel but without being a boot. They are comfortable and I love them. I am usually an 8.5 and bought an 8.5 but wear them with insoles for a better fit for my narrow feet.

I adore these. I am a 10.5 and I sized up to an 11 and they fit perfectly. They make your feet look a little bit long if you have big feet like me, but these are so cute with jeans, dresses, and skirts. Absolutely love them, worth every penny.
