These were ok shoes, I suppose. Not terribly flexible. But I had to return as the sole was peeling back from the rest of the shoe.

In the brief time I have owned these I now understand something. At first they are great because they are wide and fit well, but soon thereafter, the poor quality material composition surfaces. Inside, the cloth lining has already deteriorated and let the stuffing come out. And the first to go was the poorly bonded sole curling up on the toe. The sole separated and I had to glue and clamp the sole back down. At these prices I will NOT buy them again.

Spira says they measure quality by mileage and at this rate my last pair might make ten miles indoors. I have used a tube and a half of goop and silicone glue to glue the soles together, other shoes the stitching comes apart.

When I first tried them on after getting them they felt GREAT! You could definitely feel the spring action in them. About a week and a half later the spring action was hardly noticeably. A couple of weeks later the part of the sole that wraps up in the front of the shoes started peeling away. Two months later I discovered a HOLE in the sole of one of the shoes about three quarters of an inch across. After spending this much money on these shoes I expected them to hold up better. Needless to say I won’t be buying these shoes again.

I like these shoes a lot. I've owned three pair and found them very comfortable. Recently, however, I had to go through several purchase/returns due to a "click" sound in the left shoe. I think a spring was broken. But I finally ended up with the shoes without the "click." I didn't have this sound in my previous pairs. Zappos was great as always when I had to return/exchange the new pair.

This is my second pair. They are great traveling shoes that also double as exercise shoes. Comfortable while providing join protection by the shoe's shock absorbing capability.

Very good sneaker!!! I bought these because I had a heel spur and my other sneakers were killing me. I immediately felt better with these and two weeks later the heel spur was completely gone!

I'm an RN who works 12 hour shifts and I've been wearing New Balance 928's for years. It's a decent shoe but recently I've had surgery on my right foot and they just didn't cut it anymore. This shoe was definitely a step up in comfort. I'm pleased.

I knew that they were too narrow the moment that I looked in the box. Problem is the toe box, which was surprising, because the other two models of this shoe I have purchased fit perfectly. I have returned them. They had a much less expensive leather model that fit well but is no longer available. One other note for frequent travelers with any Spira shoes: if you have TSA pre-check, you still have to take these off as the springs have just enough metal to set off the detectors.

Very comfortable shoes. You can wear these all day without your feet hurting. If you are on your feet for long periods, or heading out to shop, working out in the gym - these are the only shoes to own!

Have worn this shoe for several years now and it is the only shoe that gives me the support and comfort I need to work a 12 hour shift on my feet. I wear the man's size due to needing a large size shoe. I only wish they made them in a true women's size 13, but we adjust.

These shoes stopped lower back pan for me. New dog (10 month old lab) ate the first par. With days the back was aching without the Spiras. Ordered another pair and once again back pain went away. By this time my wife wanted a pair (this got expensive) half size larger than normal and cs was wonderful. The dog is mellowing and is still here.

Most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Great for osteoarthritis problems. Can't say enough about these shoes!

I had a pair of these and when they wore out I bought another pair. I like them overall, but there are some things I didn't like. 1. The shoe strings will not stay tied and that gets to be rather annoying. Even when double knotting them before the end of the day they would be untied. 2. The eyelets are some form of plastic and on both pairs I've had the upper eyelets break or have a crack on one side of the eyelet and the shoestring would then hang up in that crack making them harder to loosen when taking the shoe off. 3. Eventually the outer sole will separate from the inner sole. When that happens they will start to squeak when you walk. On both of mine that happened when I still had quite a bit of wear available on the outer soles.

Great shoes! Very comfortable relaxing to wear, and help my back when on my feet for long periods. Am planning to get a black pair for more formal wear.

This is a great shoe! I bought them in white and am going to get them in black as well. I am also going to get a pair for my son for work - he is on his feet on concrete his entire day. The fit is great - I wear a 12 4E and they are on the money for me. I have bad knees, a bad hip, and a bad back (accident and arthritis) and it was next to impossible for me to walk on hard surfaces - not with these - I can walk on the sidewalks or in stores, can go grocery shopping again) and have no problems - used to be in pain after 5 minutes. I feel like I am walking on a cloud. Give them a try.

I have bad knees and arthritic joints and have found that I can walk or stand far longer with these shoes than with any others I have ever owned, especially on city streets. The springs seem to make all the difference. They are also some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The sizing is right on, and you can get them in various widths, another feature not commonly found any longer. My only complaint would be that my first pair wore out at the heel faster than I would have liked, but all in all, well worth the price if you have foot, knee, or back issues.

Wonderful walking shoes, as one who walks a lot. Even fit my orthotics with the inserts that come with shoes. Only downer, they dropped the price right after I bought. Dang.

Comfortable, and solid. I did not think the springs in the shoe offered much spring. I walked a mile in my former go-to shoes and felt like I was treading barefoot on concrete. I own two different pairs Spira and would consider third, when desirable color combination comes out.

This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever found! Until I found this shoe I had trouble walking any distances. I put this shoe on as soon as I got it and I was able to walk all over in it!

I ordered a pair of shoes from Zappos. Not only was the price lower than some other sources, I received them on time and was able to track the shipment. This is a great company to deal with.

I am enthusiastic about the Spira Classic Leather shoes I’ve purchased. They have springs inside the heel and front soles, and they walk "lighter" than any shoes I’ve ever had. I teach 4 1/2 hours a day on my feet, and I get noticeably less tired in my Spira shoes. The "theory" that the springs return energy to the body through the feet instead of sucking out energy from the body proves itself through my experience. Above and beyond the shoes, I’ve NEVER encountered a company as user-friendly as ZAPPOS. Real people talk to you on the phone and bend over backwards to your benefit. Bravo!

My job requires me to walk a lot, I would get pain in my knees, but when I bought the Spira, the pain in my knees stopped. This the third pair I have had and the shoes have held up very well with no defects.

WOW! Third pair of Spiras! These Spira shoes wear on the top faster than expected. The toe cap on competitor Keen shoes make those last longer. Don't wear Spiras to the beach, as sand can work its way into the spring area. Crunch crunch. They look like shoes from the 70s. They need to come in a men's formal style for business attire. That's all I can find wrong with these shoes. What is right, is that the spring solution really works. It is incredible to be able to walk free of knee pain. Underpronation is when the outside of the heel strikes first and your weight transfers forward on the outside edge of the shoe. This can cause damage to the joints especially the knees. Ouch. Most shoes feel better when they are new, but as the padding wears out, they stop absorbing the impact and the stabbing pain comes back. Spira's springs don't wear out and the springs absorb at the angle of the impact so I have been completely pain free since a couple of weeks after finding these shoes. Thank you Spira and Zappos for over a year of pain free walking. I ordered a pair Monday and Zappos delivered on Tuesday. Free shipping. Why would I buy from anyone but Zappos?
