I have chronic knee problems, and chose this shoe in desperation. Good choice! It actually works. Walking no longer gives me pain. But pick a half-size larger, as the shoe is a bit narrow.

Spira Classic Leather Company backs up damages - I purchased my Spira Classic Leather shoe in Dec 2005 for work. I stand for 10-12 hrs 7 days a week during winter (6) months. The spring in the heel of the shoe broke and I sustained injury in my foot in April 2006. The store confirmed the spring was broken and replaced my pair of shoes. The Spira Classic leather is a great shoe for standing long periods of time and is very comfortable. Spira does back up their product for 1 year and I am pleased that the shoe was replaced…

Great shoe, comfortable and not bad looking. It took two 8 hour shifts to break them in but after that they were great. Cons would be they're a little on the heavy side and not very breathable. Overall I'm happy with them.

I am a pharmacist, and often have to stand for 13 hour shifts. I would not wear any other shoe! I replace them about every six months, that is about how long it takes for the sole to wear down, and it loses some of its cushioning. They look somewhat clunky, but they are fine for work. I get the double wide version to provide extra comfort room.

I have very wide feet and I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well. These are great - I only wonder why 54" laces were included. They are far far too long even when laced all the way up.

I was going to quit the aerobics and exercise classes as I was getting horrible pain form shin and ankle splints. A trainer suggested I try these shoes. I can now do two aerobic classes back to back with no leg or ankle pain. I even bought a pair for a family member having foot trouble. They helped him immensely.

My husband is an ER doctor. 10-12 hour shifts on his feet on concrete floors. He has wide feet and a painful toe. These are his third pair. He wears them every day he works. 15-16 shifts a month. They last about a year before the tread is worn nearly flat in places and the lining on inside ankles tear a little. He loves them. He has never complained about his feet after work. Blood and guts wipe right off. Excellent shoe. I buy the wide shoe. Zappos is excellent if you haven't tried them go for it. Best company I've patroned in years.

Excellent Product!! Excellent Service!!!

This is the sixth pair of the Spira Classic Leather I have purchased from Zappos. Due to foot problems (plantar fascia). I find Spira as the only shoe I can wear for an extended period of time. I also find that I can get the shoes quicker through Zappos that buying locally, as they are a special order item at local shoe stores.

I have purchased multiple pairs of shoes from Zappos. The service is always as advertised - very prompt delivery and fair prices. I've had no reason to take advantage of their return policies.

I can usually wear an 8 to 8½ regular, but in some designs I need a little more room and get a W shoe. I ordered the 8½W and have lots of room up front; I almost thought about returning them for a regular but decided not to and am glad I did not. Prior to wearing these shoes, standing on my feet all day would make my feet ache. Wearing these shoes there is very noticeably less fatigue and little to no pain at the end of a day. I can go from standing to brisk walking and enjoy the walk, no longer complaining of any issues with foot pain, pinching binding, or anything. I am very pleased with the quality and appearance of these shoes. I do not spring like I expected, but obviously the impact of my feet on the pavement is absorbed much better. I do not feel the springs at all. However, I have a high arch and felt that my heal was still low in the shoe when climbing hills, I added a heel/arch gel orthopedic insert and my feet are quite happy. So, I am happy.

The shoe was perfect. I ordered it in the evening and it came to my door the next morning. I\'m a Zappos addict and I constantly recommend them. I can\'t buy shoes at a shoe store because of size issues. Zappos has always had what I needed. Great company.

Spira Classic Leather - Great concept! It relieved my heel pain and is giving it a chance to cure. Sensory feedback from the ground is a little different that from regular shoes, so some caution must be observed. It is not dangerous, necessarily, just less feedback than with normal shoes.

Spira's Classic Leather - A good fit, should be larger than usual size. Springs on Bottom inside help. I usually wear Brooks Addiction Walkers, but new toe shape has changed them. Helpful with my balance and walking problems, fit well with my orthotics.

Good Shoe - I would like to take this opportunity to commend your company on the service provided... The quality of the shoe was as advertised and the sizing was a little off. The shoe is a little smaller than indicated and so far it has been somewhat tight on my feet, but they seem to be coming along. Because of the amount of time that I am wearing them. I work on concrete floors and the shoe does seem to improve the day by lessening the pain from being on my feet so much. I was told by a friend that they would help my feet and I agree with that statement. I also have referred your site to several friends to use for buying shoes. I hope that their experience with your company will be as good as the one that I have been involved with. A satisfied customer.

This is the shoe to own for comfort - I am on my feet all day long. Walking and standing. This is the most comfortable shoe I have owned. I have been wearing them for about a month. I used to end my day in pain, and now at the end of the day I feel great. I cannot comment on longevity, although the shoes seem to be wearing normally.

Enjoy Walking Again - Spira has a strange way of sizing there shoes. I normally wear a size 9W, but that is too tight in a Spira shoe, so I ordered a 9EE and that was a little tight too. Next time I'll order the Spira 9EEEE size. Other than being a little tight I really enjoy the spring action provided.

Great Shoes - My feet feel great. I needed something soft and wide. These shoes did the trick. High quality. Well worth the money.

None better that I have tried. Zappos service 10 stars! I found the Spira Classic Leather quite by accident. I don't remember exactly what I was searching for, except the obvious: a comfortable walking shoe. In the past I have opted for the New Balance 842, New Balance 620, and Brooks Addiction Walkers. All of these are good walking shoes with some better in one respect and another better in a different way. I am a bit of an unusual case when it comes to finding the correct shoe: 1) my feet are completely flat (from jumping- hundreds of times- from 2 story windows as a child; 2) I have a large bunion on my right foot from wearing improperly fitting shoes in the past; 3) I have an extremely sensitive big toe on my other foot which had been saved by a good plastic surgeon after being crushed by a falling barbell plate (50 pound). Add to this the fact that I wear a size 13 EEEE. Maybe not unusual at Zappos, but just go to any shoe store in any mall and see how easy these are to find (especially with ANY selection). The Spira Classic Leather is, without any doubt, the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I write this review after wearing them for only one day-- makes good sense to me-- from the other reviews, they feel good from the start and continue to feel the same. If you have feet about the same size as mine, these shoes may feel narrow and short (slightly) when you first put them on. I immediately looked to see if Zappos offered a 13.5 or 14 and an EEEEE...which they don't...nor does anyone else on the web!! But after walking about in the house a bit, I guess they conformed a little to my odd feet and I am in heaven! Finally, I would like to commend Zappos customer service. Most of my orders have been fine and had no need for returns. I have, on 2 or 3 occasions, needed to return shoes due to size difficulties. All business, including returns, is effortless and pleasant...and it beats the heck out of driving around looking for a pair of shoes with gas prices through the ceiling! Zappos: you folks are just the absolute best on the internet (and I have shopped elsewhere)!

Good - Good walking sneaker

Most comfortable walking shoe ever! I have been walking in the Spira shoes for several weeks now and it is just as comfortable as it was the first day. If feels like walking on pillows.

Right shoe for the job! As a police officer I am often on my feet for hours on end. The Spira's Classic Leather not only provides the comfort and performance I require for my job, they also have the uniform appearance I need. I recommend this shoe highly.

Wish I had found this shoe sooner. This is a great shoe if you have heel pain. I had tried many insoles in the past two years and if they worked at all they soon lost their "spring". These are great and I am guessing from home they have performed so far that the built in spring will have a long life and I can tell it provides excellent pain relieve. I was walking the other day and I was surprised how quickly and sprightly I was walking. I guess that is what happens naturally when every step does not send pain shooting through your heel. I also bought a pair for my sister and she is seeing similar results. We both like the fact they don't look all that bulky like some orthopedic shoes. My sister also likes the way it makes her appear a little taller and I can't say I hate that. My experience with Zappos was excellent and the shoes arrived very quickly. As they carried wide and half sizes the fit was perfect and thus I cannot speak to the return service but it sounds great. Hey if you have heel pain don't hesitate to try these shoes, they are the most cost effective and just plain effective thing I have tried.

Love comes in a little black shoe. My son plays recreational basketball, but after 15 minutes of play, I saw him dragging his feet and wanting to take a break. His feet were killing him. He has always had problems with his feet. We couldn’t find shoes to fit because they were so wide. He mostly wore Birkenstock soft gel sandals with supported arches, but you can’t play sports in these. I had bought a pair of Spira’s for myself to walk in because I have had problems with my feet also and I walked off 50 pounds with no foot pain for the first time in my life. I have plantar fasciitis and it is so painful. I was very heavy and the shoe made me feel very light with great energy return. Sooooo I decided maybe my son could benefit from these shoes. Wow... worth every penny I spent for him. He runs around like a racing horse and has never complained about foot pain again. Usually we are tugging on the shoe to get it to go on... this shoe slipped on like Cinderella’s slipper. I will definitely purchase these again if they ever wear out. I’ve had mine two years and they still look white and feel great.

Great Shoe! Finally, a shoe with springs that looks great and feels wonderful. I walk 3 miles a day at a 13 minute pace; try that on other shoes. My knees feel great and my back does not hurt me. The shock absorption is perfect. These shoes work! I would love a brown leather pair, if they would only make them. The Z-Coils I bought 2 years ago and wore for only a year before my knees and back began to hurt again, were thrown into the garbage.
