I need to go a half a size down ...but they will be perfect for April in France!

Love Salomons’ but this one runs a full size large. Also, it is very sturdy & heavy. Would likely be good for hiking and some serious trails but for the most part, it’s just too heavy for long runs.

Ma deuxi?me paire. Je m'en sers tous les jours. Syst?me de serrage parfait pour les mettre vite. Manque juste un peu d'echancrure au niveau de la cheville pour ?tre parfaite

I was excited to try this brand since many of the reviews sited the great arch support. It is true that this shoe has great arch support. But something felt uncomfortable on the top of my foot under the laces (perhaps because the great arch support was pushing my foot up?). And perhaps I'm spoiled by all the memory foam shoes out now, but these felt stiff and hard. I also probably need a wide, which they don't have. So back they went. Thank goodness for Zappos' return policy!

Well made, sturdy, great tread. Would have given 5 stars but they ran a little small.

I feel that the XA Pro 3D gives me the support I need when carrying a backpack w/o the weight & clumsiness of a big boot. Plenty of toe room w/o going up a size.

I've been wearing this style since 2007 for hiking and trail running. They provide good support on uneven trails and the rubber provides the grip I need to navigate rocky terrain. I've never gotten a blister and unless the trail is super rocky, the cushion protects the balls and heels of my feet. I am disappointed that the older style with more rubber over the toes has been phased out. My big toes take a serious beating and that extra rubber helped - would love to have that back! The color combinations are also getting pretty awful so I stick to plain black.

I love the color and style of these shoes. However, I found the inner soles to be a little hard.I need more cushioning.

I love Salomons but have found that their shoes are now too narrow across the top of the ball of my foot. Maybe its my aging feet ...(darn!)

First, thanks Zappos for doing an exchange so quickly and efficiently! You amaze me! I ordered these shoes in a 9.5 which is what all my Salomon running shoes have been in the past. I got them and sheesh...they were huge. TOO big! So I exchanged them for a size 9. My measured shoe size is 9.5- 10 so it was depressing that they were so big! I debated on ordering a size 9 because I thought they would be too short, but I did anyway. The size 9's fit good enough. I've been wearing them around the house to be sure. I'll be taking them out for a run later this week...that will be the true test. If you have narrow feet like me, order a 1/2 size DOWN! The toe box was giant unlike other Salomons I've worn. I wonder why shoemakers can't just somehow make all their shoes fit the same...anyway, they feel great and I think they'll be good to run on the trails.

I like only Salomons...cause they usually fit my weird feet well.

I have flat fleet and these shoes are not for me. The arch support is not what I need but if you don't have flat feet they do seem like they would be perfect.

Love the look of this shoe. Great arch support. I wanted it to work out but had to return it. Very bulky around the ankle and just a little bulky overall. Looking for something a little lighter. I usually wear a size 8 in most shoes, but a size 8 1/2 in sneakers. I ordered an 8 based on other reviews and was happy with the fit of the length of the shoe. There was ample room in the toe box.

Excellent arch support and stability for those that super pronate like me. The one thing I hate is the difficulty in the laces, I used these type laces before...but these are difficult to slide to adjust.

My third pair of Salomons XA Pro. Good arch support and comfortable. Some slipping on smooth surfaces. No need for additional arch support with this shoe. I order a half size smaller than regular running shoes.

I almost loved these shoes. I have tried on 18 pairs of similar light hiking type shoes from Merrell, Keen, Anhu Adidas, Hi-tec, etc and of them all, I loved these best. Except for this hard exposed rubber/plastic point on the side of the shoe near my little toe. I cannot fathom why they would do this. Otherwise they are great shoes! They are super light but with a good firm sole. I am going to try other Solomons to see if I can find something similar. Big bummer...

I have been a fan of this brand for about three years. I have been wearing Fellraisers this entire year which are light, great for racing - trail and city. I am drawn to color first when it comes to choosing running shoes. Then I make sure that the description of the shoes is what I am looking for. I have never worn this style before but was looking for something a little more rugged to handle Michigan winters. I bought the killer purple/black pair. For me it has taken about 2-3 weeks to break these in. I had a toe blister on day one and they are so much heavier than that I am used to. Still like them though. Roomy toe box. Not too much cushion. Excellent stability. I think these will be great for winter. In the spring I will probably switch to something lighter. I am normally a size 7. In Solomans I am always a 6½. These are cool looking shoes.

These are great shoes, but they are a little too wide for me. I have received lots of compliments on their looks, however. These are the 4th pair of Salomons I've owned and have to admit that the XR Mission shoes are a better fit for my feet. And Zappos rocks!

I have owned numerous versions of these sneakers over the past 7-8 years. They are still comfortable but not as I comfortable as in the past. They changed the tongue of the sneaker and it fits a lot more snug on the top of the foot. I decided to keep them anyways.

Great sturdy shoe, this is my second pair, but the second one doesn't have quite as much cushion as the first pair I got about 1 year ago. It's like the insole is thinner. In general I love Salomon shoes for any hiking, trail running and cross-training

This is a great hiking shoe and comfortable to wear all day without any problems. In my opinion, it runs large. I had to exchange from 8.5 to size 8. It is still pretty big in length and had sizing difficulty. Otherwise, these shoes are great and a keeper.

They seem like really nice shoes (just got them a few weeks ago). They run a bit large - I got a size smaller than I normally wear. But thanks to Zappos' fantastic return policy, figuring out the size that fit wasn't a problem. They pinch a bit around the ankle, but I appreciate the tight fit. I had a really similar style of Salomon shoes for my last pair and they lasted me almost 5 years with frequent wearing. The only negative things I've found so far is that the mesh pocket where you store the "lace" while wearing the shoes is really tight and hard to get the lace into. It also seems like it is already ripping at the corners because of this.

The shoe could have been awesome, and probably would be for others, but I neglected to take into account that I cannot accomplish a more complex lacing that protects my bunions that I otherwise can with traditional lace hiking shoes. To cinch this shoe up tight enough to not roll on my foot I had to cinch that sensitive area as well. I was very much looking forward to this shoe. I have to say the fault was more the foot than the shoe.

This is a very supportive shoe. The reason I am returning it is because it holds my foot up too much and doesn't feel that it allows the normal action of my foot while walking. Loved the wide toe box.
