I received my boots last week and wore them hunting for two days. The first day I had to of the lace eyelets pull out and on the second day 3 more. I was surprised by how thin the metal in the riveting is which is likely the cause. I ordered a half size larger than normal for heavier socks and the fit is fine. Warm and good for walking. I will be taking the to a local shoe repair shop to pay for upgraded lacing hardware.

I don't do a ton of hiking in these boots, and maybe I am being too particular, but I am not happy the sides on the right foot boot busted out, even if I've had them 10 years. Up until then they were great for the heavy deep snow we get in the UP of Michigan. They do a good job of keeping out the snow with the drawstring at the opening of the boot.

I am on my second pair of these boots. The first pair lasted about 5 years and I am into the second winter season with my current pair. I work for a utility company in the snow county. I am in the deep snow all day during the winter months. The small surface area causes the boot to push through light to semi-packed snow fairly easily which makes it difficult carrying equipment into the back country, but these boots work well with snow shoes. During frigid days, these boots to not hold up to the cold that well. The boots are light and comfortable, so if you are moving around in light snow or ice pack, these boots will not slow you down and suffice in keeping your feet warm. I do not recommend these boots for standing for long periods of time as the insoles tend to flatten and standing body heat in your feet will not stand up to long term exposure in the cold. I put my own insoles in these boots and wear good winter work socks. The upper portion of the boot is not supportive. I would prefer it if these boots were more rugged in the design of the upper portion of the boot. The clip in the back that holds the Achilles adjustment strap in place is always coming off. This is the reason I visited the site to see if I could order replacements. I switch back and forth between these boots and a competitor's higher end boot. The competitor's boots keep my feet warm all the time and have great "teeth" for snow, but have poor arch support, so day-in-and-day-out use of them causes my ankles to hurt. I use my Sorel Conquest boot to give my ankles a break. I generally keep both sets of boot with me at work depending on the snow conditions. Other posts here have stated that the boot has come apart and the rubber portion has split. I have not had that problem. But, it could see if Sorel changed supplier who provide a poorer quality of material or if they changed manufactures who have lower quality craftsmanship that such a problem would occur. I have been lucky that I have not paid full price for these boots. The sticker price on the Sorel website is far beyond their worth. I have found them for cheaper prices. It just takes some searching and waiting.

I purchased SOREL CONQUEST boots a few years ago. they are very warm and fantastic traction in the snow. However, this year when I put them on to go out into the snow, I noticed that the rubber was severely cracked and there is a separation at the point the rubber and leather meet. I just sent a complaint into customer service. I will let you know what response I receive.

Cool looking boot but they are difficult to get on. Super tight trying to slide your foot down into boot and a challenge that I gave up on. Bummer because they look awesome.

I normally wear a size 11.5 . I ordered this size and to small... I exchanged them for a 12 and those are to small as well... These boots do not fit true to size. i'd say wearing thick socks and all order a size and a half bigger than what you wear for them to fit.

These boots were awesome for stomping around in the snow and slush (mostly slush) in Vancouver. They kept my feet warm and dry. The boots are huge without being heavy and roomy without being sloppy on the feet. They take a little breaking in -- my heels were incredibly sore the first few times I wore them -- but are comfy. My only complaint is that they do not last. I bought mine in 2011, so this is my 6th winter with them, but it has been mild the last few years and I've worn them fewer than 30 times total. Now the uppers have completely separated from the lowers on the left heel and the right heel isn't far behind. The quote I got to repair them is more than I paid originally, so I guess this pair is done. I'm undecided about ordering another pair, as the boots were fantastic while they held up, but I'm disappointed they fell apart after what really just was not that much use.

The boots started out fine but go to put them on for the second winter and the rubber sole on the side has cracked and broken through. For how much you pay for them the should fix or replace so I will be going to LLBean for my lifetime replacement pair!

All in all I like the boots I received but the problem I have is that inside the boot just above my Achilles tendon there is something in side the boot (material bulging through the inside) that is rubbing pretty badly against that area and causing a great deal of discomfort. It is reasons like this why I hate ordering online products as you don't have a chance to see and feel how something fits "correctly". The style and most of the design of the boot is exactly what I needed for Colorado other than this particular discomfort. Haven't had time to contact Sorel and deal with this yet. I would normally recommend the boot but this one issue is rather difficult to deal with.

I purchased these boots for rugged farm work which oftentimes requires working in soupy mud and/or below freezing, harsh conditions. The seal between the leather upper and the rubber sole (about three o'clock on the left boot, nine o'clock on the right boot from the toe) gave out barely five months into owning the boots, which had a solid three months' use. Hoping to get them repaired under warranty as they're less than a year old, but I simply cannot spare the boots for the four-week repair period. I wear plastic bags on my feet for now until the end of mud season. Stick to snow and non-mud if you want these to last.

Unfortunately this shoe looks great on the outside and has some good features, but is so clunky, anyone that would be wearing it longer than an hour or so will find it severely uncomfortable. First, it has no ankle support, second the laces don't do much to tighten the shoe - the width is more like EEE than D, so buy extra insoles to fill the space if you have a D width foot. Don't recommend this shoe for snowshoe use. It's a pity because the top gator is great, just the foot support is weak.

I have worn this boot for 5 winters and other than it not fitting well around ankles (to wide I guess) it was a good boot. My feet stayed dry and warm. I went to wear them this year and the rubber around the toes just seemed to fall off. Unfortunately there is only a 1 year warranty. I have other boots that have lasted longer than this especially for not wearing them year round.

I work on the rooftops of commercial buildings in Minnesota where I service heating, a/c and refrigeration units, so am no stranger to frigid weather. It was -25 the other night on the roof and my toes were freezing and wet. I would say these boots keep my feet and toes warm down to about 10 degrees, but my feet are always wet. I assume the wetness is the from the inability of these boots to wick away sweat. I just bought a pair of Red Wing 1444-4 with 400 gram of thinsulate and and they kept my feet warm and dry all day in subzero weather yesterday...and these Red Wings aren't even considered "winter" boots! These boots are going in the garage sale pile for this spring...someone else can freeze thier feet.

This boot looks good, is constructed well, and is waterproof. However, I find them terribly uncomfortable. They are very hard to get in and out of - since there is no "tongue" - basically a moon-boot type construction, despite the laces. They are also very clunky - even for a boot.

I have a pair of Sorel boots, I had them for about 6 years. They kept my feet warm and dry and extreme conditions, butgood boots they too came apart at the seams where the leather meets the rubber. Otherwise they are very good boots. I may go with another model.

Poor execution - Excellent tread and lower, but the ankle was just too poorly fitting. No physical tongue made it hard to loosen to put on and the laces were very hard to tighten with the very loose eyelets and no waxed laces. Footbed felt firm, but there was no cushion or support at all. Very stiff ankle. Not sure of the purpose of the Achilles strap, it felt no different when tightened. Good quality construction and I'm sure it would do well at keeping the snow and cold out. The ankle didn't feel like it had very much insulation and the boot carried most of the bulk below the foot making the boots feel unbalanced and much heavier.

stinky boots - These boots are a good looking boot which caught my eye. They are boots kept my feet warm over 10F but they are definatly not good for -40f. My big problem with these boots happened when I wore them for 5 days in a row and did alot of walking in snow. Somehow water wound up in the boot from leakage, or snow entering the top. I placed them next to a heater to dry them out. Before they dryed out they got mildewed. They did not dry out. These boots are brand new and my second pair in a year. The other pair I did not have this problem with but they got thrown out accidently. My frined bought an identical pair of these boots marketed under another name with an insert and loves them. Is there anything I can do to remedy this and are there any inserts for this boot??

Not a -40 below boot. The boot is okay in every respect except you wouldn't find me snow shoeing in -40 conditions. The lining isn't that thick at all. I'd be interested in how Sorel would rate my ice climbing boots on the Sorel scale. -120?? They look good but if they came in a Gortex model they would be better. Those clunky Kmart boots with the black nap liner are way warmer and you could pick them up for 20 bucks.

I bought these several years ago and only wore them a handful of times. I just pulled them out to go to the mountains and after wearing them for 30 minutes they disintegrated. Even though they still looked like new the upper completely disconnected from the bottom..

I bought these shoes because of the amazing reviews. While they are very very comfortable - the eyelet fell out (see attached picture) after less than one week of use! I contacted the company about the situation but nothing was done. They said the only option was to mail the boots back and they'd mail us a new pair but that would take weeks. And he would have NO BOOTS for weeks. We couldn't do that again. We had already had to reorder the previous pair because the first pair we ordered (which was in Todd's normal shoe size of 12) we had to reorder in a size 13) because they squished his toes.

I have had a pair for about 8 years or so. I always had them as a kid/teen when hunting or just out working. This current pair I just wore for the first time in a couple years since we haven't had much snow. I used them today and there are no words for it. They completely, literally fell apart. I can't beleive it, what a waste of money! They are older but barely worn, still have 1/4" of tread on them, only worn in the snow. VERY Disappointed!!!
