Good boot for keeping you warm but mine let water in through the tongue and after a year the sole peeled away so not the long term investment I was hoping it would be.

I had better luck than most. I used my Conquests for around 10 years of hiking, snowcaving in the coldest part of the Utah winters. Last year the rubber on the side stitching split badly, and being the chronic "I can fix that" guy, I fixed it with a bomb proof glue and rubberized fabric. (see pic) Then this year after a winter peak hike, I found the heel had split badly, so I fixed it again (see pic). While checking the other boot, I noticed the heel was starting to split on that one too. I'm disappointed now, especially as I see so many other reviews that it happened to them after 2-5 years. My Sorel Caribous are still going strong after 15 years. Sorel needs to improve the rubber on the Conquest model.

i had better luck than some... my set of boots lasted perhaps 5 years. Kept boots in garage in northern Illinois. Went out yesterday to blow snow, and all stitching on my right boot separated as others have reported. I still used the boot... but the outside covering was released, leaving a "gash" surrounding the boot where water and snow could enter. I really liked the boots up to this point. I replaced the boots with a different brand, since I now need something else. I would not buy this item again since SEVERAL people have reported the exact same complaint.

When I purchased these boots I really enjoyed them. They look great, but more importantly they worked very well for me in show and kept my feet warm. I use these regularly in Montana where I will ultimately move. Unfortunately, after only a few years they fell apart. I was in the snow doing some tubing with friends and I started to feel cold around my feet. I looked down and the rubber was disintegrating! It was coming off in large and small chunks. I am very disappointed in the quality of the rubber. Sorel, you have a good brand and good products, but you must not fail the consumer by using inferior materials. I'm wearing some Sorel Caribou boots now and if you fail me again I'm done!

Purchased 2 years ago. Went to put boots on this year and the upper leather separated from the bottom rubber on both boots. Spending that kind of money on a pair of boots that were worn maybe 5 times over the past 2 years is extremely disappointing. Not worth the money.POOR QUALITY.

Great boot for a short walk. After that they come apart at the seams where the leather meets the rubber. With every step I take I hear air escaping and see bubbles at the seams. Terrible quality for the price. I'm going to have to explore other brands. Sad to see a classic quality brand like this go south.

Grew up wearing Sorels and I am certain, despite the abuse I imparted on them as a kid, I never had a Sorel boot come apart. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. I have less than 2 seasons on my Conquests and both boots are pulling apart at the seams. To give an idea of what defeats these boots, I wear them while hiking through snow filled woodlands. There are some sticks, rocks, etc. under the snow that I'm sure are tough on the boots; however, in the summer I wear typical trail running shows while working in those same woods and none have pulled apart or gotten any holes. If you can ignore the fact they are pulling apart, the boots are comfortable, offer nice stability for such a large boot, are average warmth for this style boot, and (prior to coming apart) they did a great job keeping my feet dry. It really is too bad they are so poorly constructed.

Purchased these in 2010, before a North East winter. They crapped out on me today (3/2017), both boots at the same time, and left my feet wet and cold. Inside toe seams busted. If I bought boots at PayLess for $45 that would be fine. But, for $150+ and carrying the brand name Sorel, I expect more. FYI - I wear these maybe 15 days a year (and the rest of the time they're kept indoors) so they have not gotten much wear. Very disappointing.

I have a really old pair of Sorel pac boots that are still wearable. I saw the Conquest & thought they were cool looking. I was outside shoveling snow & my left foot felt wet. When I came inside I noticed the rubber had separated from the leather upper. The rubber was falling apart with chunks missing. I have had them for some time, but They were not worn that much or hard. At least I have my old pair of felt lined boots to fall back on.

I work in a freezer storage unit that is -12 all the time and this boot is suppose to be rated at -40, but my feet still get cold. Also, if someone is reading this to get an idea if they should buy this boot, dont! Like everyone has said previously, the leather pulls apart from the rubber. I've only owned my pair for 2 months and never have taken them out in the snow, only to work and they fell apart. Don't be like me and ignore the reviews just because you really want them.

I grew up on Sorels. Always long lasting and solid boots. I've now had two pairs of these Conquest's. Both had seems split between the rubber and leather. Neither made it through more than a season. In going through the reviews, on their site, for this products, there are many similar problems. Also, the cinch buckle on both pairs never worked so fit was always sloppy. Too bad as they were true to size and perfectly matched to our New England winters. I'm very disappointed and will not buy another pir of their boots.

I'm disappointed to see the boots come apart after using them about 10 times. The seam between the tan top half and the black bottom half separated. And with only a one year warranty on footwear, I'm stuck having to buy another pair of boots.

Bought these boots for the nice Rubber over the toe waterproofing. First bunch of times in the snow and I was in love. I was going to order two more pair to last me the rest of my life. 2 months later and I was WAY disappointed. The sides blew out of them Both boots. Teh Rubber literally rips out of the threads. Then I looked at other reviews on the internet and 'every one' is having the same issue. Contacted Sorel via the internet, They never responded.

I had these boots for ~6-7 years, wore them when there is snow in tahoe on the weekends. The soles were still perfect, but the leather separated from the rubber in back where it was stitched. It looks like the rubber was a little thin at this point and ripped. Much to my surprise, Sorel offered to replace the boots with ones of my choice, even though the 1 year warranty is up. I'll probably pick another model since the Conquest has had it's share of issues and received the lowest rating. Too bad. Loved the boots. Very warm, comfortable and rugged.

I wear these to work in the winter, at first I loved them. After two months they started leaking and I would have cold wet feet. Now the seam has split and the leather is pulling away from the rubber. Not very durable. Would not buy again or recommend.

i had two pair of these boots and the same thing happened to both. the rubber rotted. just a little over a year. great boots though comfortable warm ,style is great but the rubber sucks. you would think they would have changed the rubber by now but its been almost five years for me and i bet they made the ones they have now the same way. i will buy another pair only if i know they fixed the rubber problem. i read other people have the same problem also. do i recommend this product. not right now until the rubber problem is fix.

I used the boots during the winter so my feet could stay dry. I have horses and I wanted a waterproof / water resistant boot that would keep my feet warm and dry in the mix of snow, mud and water that puddles in our pasture. After the first winter, they started to leak and eventually, the boot pulled apart at the rubber lining near the tread and the leather. These boots are all show and no go if you are wearing them a lot. I think the below freezing weather might have something to do with the boots staying together as the rubber eventually dries up and cracks even with proper treatment of mink oil and whatnot.

I purchased my first pair of Sorels (Mens Conquest). I have to say they have not held up. My last pair of boots were with me for 12 years and I wore out the soles. After being tired of having wet feet, I went to the store, these boots caight my eye and had visions of warm happy feet. I have worn these boots about 25 times only when it snows or while doing snow removal. We have had three storms storms this year and my feel have been cold and damp. I can't understand this? Well yesterday we just got dumped on again and the temps are sub zero my feet are freezing. I looked down and I can see water water dripping out where the sole attaches to the boot not the leather.. I have bragged about this boot now I am embarrassed and really can't afford to dish out another $180.00 for another pair of boots right now. I really thought they would last much longer. I called customer service and the nice woman told me they were flexible but would not garantee anything. Now if I send them back out of waranty I'm still without. I thought i would just go buy some type of sllicone product to temporarily fix the Boot. Hopefully they will hold up throuhght the rest of the winter. We are inb the begging of Jan? They fit perfect by the way and are the most comfortable shoes/ boots I own.

I bought these boots from Zappos. They are rated for -60° on the website. On the boot tags they are rated for -40°. I went hunting in 22° degree weather and my feet froze. A coworker of mine swears by them, I felt like I had regular work boots on. My feet were cold within 45 minutes.

I used these boots for work in the winter time. I walk a lot and found after one year that they developed a crack in the rubber making the boots completely useless in keeping water out. I would love these boots if it was not for this.

I loved the look of these boots, and it was between these and the Sorel Caribou boot. I went with these as seemed more durable and rugged work type boot. However, after wearing these the laces metal eyelet dug into the top of my foot. Maybe it is the flex point in my foot, but these didnt work out as expected. Now that I look back, should have gone with the Caribou boot!

I was hoping these boots would be comfortable based on the reviews I read from others. Unfortunately I found them to be extremely stiff in the ankle portion (there's support, and then there's these boots!) I did not wear them outside at all and decided to send them back. I will try another boot.

This boot is fairly comfortable although a bit like walking in a ski boot. It was -4 degrees when I used the boots and the bottoms of my feet froze after about 30 minutes.
