Rehab for aching knee - Purchased these Earth shoes because I wear them at work to keep my legs from aching. Have been using New Balance for exercise for many years but recently knees began giving me trouble. Shopping for new work shoes and discovered the Earth Energetic. Knees have been improving daily by wearing my Energetics to exercise in. Thanks Zappos and Anne Kalso

Earth Energetic - This shoe is great! It is important to break them in slowly. After wearing them a couple of times they are perfect. Very comfortable and good fit!!

Most comfortable athletic shoe I've ever worn. Wonderful shoe, great for encouraging good posture. Lots of room in the toe area, so no squeezing. Great for long days of walking and standing. "Negative heel" feels a bit strange at first, but within minutes, I was used to it and liked it.

I can go for walks again! Very comfortable and fits very well - toe bed is roomy enough to not put pressure on my neuroma. I had stopped walking because of the pain my other shoes caused by squeezing my toes together. I also have a long history of plantar fasciitis, and am having no problems with that. I really notice the negative heel in the walking shoes much more than in my other Earth shoes. It does take a little getting used to, and has changed my stride somewhat. It also intensifies the walk. I am very, very pleased with these shoes and have already recommended them to friends. I am so happy that I have been able to resume my walking.

No more toe pain! Nerve damage in my fourth and pinky toes make it very difficult to find comfortable walking shoes. But I’ll happily use these until I wear 'em out...and then I’ll pop for another pair. They’re the most comfortable walking shoes I’ve found. I can now walk for an hour without any pain whatsoever. The shoes required no breaking-in period -- they were very comfortable straight out of the box. They do seem to run a little small--I wear size 9 and am perfectly fine in a 9-1/2, so I’d suggest ordering half a size up, as others have recommended. I think it's true you get more of a workout in these shoes. I was skeptical of this claim, but the first time I walked in them, my calf muscles and quads seemed to be working in a way I hadn't noticed with my old tennies. Another nice thing: they don't LOOK like Earth shoes. They are a bit wide and perhaps more bulky than "normal" walking shoes, but you can't tell that they're Earth shoes. And hey -- mine have pink trim! What’s not to like? Happy walking!

I had purchased a pair of Earth sandals and just loved them. I have a high arch and they immediately felt great. I was looking for a tennis shoe that felt that good and these are it. They feel great. For anyone with a high arch, I would recommend this shoe. I will definitely purchase these again.

Outstanding - This walking shoe is unbelievably comfortable and supportive. There were great right out of the box. I wear them on long walks as well as around the house. Neither my feet nor my legs have any discomfort at the end of the day.

Earth Energetic -- excellent shoe - Very comfortable right out of the box. Having read the reviews here I ordered half a size up (I normally wear an Adidas size 9 which fits perfectly) and it was just right. My concerns about the width were dismissed also -- plenty of room for my slightly wide feet. The negative heel puts you in a position which was very reminiscent of the way a tai chi teacher taught me to stand in order to align the body. Very impressed! The first 20 minutes of fast walking on sidewalks made the balls of my feet a little sore, but that lessened and now my feet are used to the shoes and I have no problems. I'm extremely satisfied.

Back and foot pain lessened - When I wore these shoes the first day my foot pain was almost gone and my back pain and fatigue was so much less I couldn't believe it! Thanks for making such a great shoe.

BEST WORKOUT EVER!! I was looking for a sneaker with zero gravity which is better for your back and increases your workout potential. Well this sneaker does it all. It’s comfortable. No blisters or soreness of any kind. The other more expensive brands did not work for me. Love Love Love these. I ordered 1/2 size bigger than normal shoe size and they are great. Try them for a better workout!!

Sneaker - This sneaker has a sharp look & very comfortable feel. The negative heel, characteristic of the Earth brand, puts the back into a modified, healthy lordosis. It appears this shoe would not be suitable for running, but it certainly is great for walking. To top it off, Zappos is a fantastic company w/ which to do business.

As good as promised - The effect of the negative heel is very impressive! It works and strengthens the legs, and really does improve posture, truly making you feel more energetic. Plus they have excellent arch support, lateral stability, and all the other things a great performance sneaker should have. I did get a half size larger than my usual, as others advised, and they fit great, with just enough space for really thick socks if needed. I am so happy I bought these, and I will continue to buy lots of Earth shoes throughout my life!

For years I have suffered with knee problems. I even had surgery on one of the knees. Doctors repeatedly told me to lie down and limit walking. I'd tried 2 top brand sport shoes, but my knees hurt. I tried the Earth Energetic and I am now walking long distances. There is a slight knee pain after 1 mile, I rest and begin walking again. I will always wear Earth Shoes. Since this spring, when I first tried Earth shoes, I have purchased 11 assorted pairs. Thanx.

Best Ever!! I have had foot problems for YEARS and orthodics for almost 10 years. People are always trying to be helpful (I do the same to others) and someone recommended another shoe and while searching on internet I discovered they still made Earth Shoes! Who knew -- Well let me tell you these are the BEST shoes ever. I will admit that at first I did experience a bit of discomfort but anyone with orthodics knows it takes some adjustment with them. Same with Earth Shoes as our bodies are so out of alignment. I stand straighter, think I look thinner, and overall feel so much better about myself. I did not find them running small, I actually think I should have bought a 1/2 size smaller than I did, but I bought as I regularly do to fit my orthodic -- which I DON'T need in the Earth Energetic! I am recommending these to everyone I talk to. I was so excited when I got them. They are reasonably priced compared to other shoes that were recommended to me as well. Everyone is different but with Zappos free shipping both ways these are worth a try. I tired them because of their policy and wear them every day. I also normally buy wide but not available in this shoe. A tad wider would be nice but surprisingly not as tight as a regular M width in other shoes I have worn over the years.

Energetic sneakers - Once you step into these shoes, a look of heavenly peace will overcome you. The comfort is beyond belief and the fit is perfect. I have a size 12 women's foot that is wide beneath the toes and very narrow elsewhere yet I ordered 12M (no need for size up or down) width and the arch and the width fit is perfect.

Takes some getting use to - I ordered these 1/2 size smaller and had to return them for my regular size. This was weird as the Earth sandals I ordered in my size were 1/2 size too large and I had to exchange them for 1/2 size smaller. I like the sandals quite a bit but I'm still getting use to the athletic shoes. I'm thinking of trying a gel insert for the heel as someone else advised. Love the sandals though and plan to order more.

These are very comfortable & look like sneakers! I have a terrible left foot & athletic shoes are the worst. My foot, heel & back do not hurt with these. I am a pharmacist & spend the entire day on my feet, and these shoes keep me moving! There's also plenty of toe room!

Feel the burn! I ordered this shoe because I have always been a toe-walker (putting more of my weight on my toes). This causes extremely built, but tight calf muscles. I was so excited to get this shoe and improve my gait during my daily walks. The first time I wore them I felt the "burn" in my calves for the first of two miles but went away after that and I didn't notice any continued discomfort. It has been great and helped me to focus on my breathing while walking. Prior to wearing this shoe I would develop knee pain after walking but since I haven't had that problem at all. (YEAH!) They are a bit on the "clunky" looking side but when you wear size 11, all shoes look clunky! My heels are a little smaller so I've found that standing with my weight in the shoe when I tie them has helped to get them snug. (I would recommend, as others did, that you order a bigger size than what you usually wear...usually I would wear anywhere between 10-11 so I ordered 11 and they fit like a glove!) I'm a chiropractor and these shoes were recommended by a patient of mine who was able to lessen her low back pain considerably by wearing these shoes so keep that in mind if you have low back pain/hip pain/knee pain, etc.

Earth Energetic - Love these shoes. I only wear Earth shoes, because of a back problem (spondylolisthesis) ...and my back is a lot better, (still can't stand for hours or do stairs), but they are a life saver!! These athletic shoes run smaller than my other earth shoes, I wear 7 in earth sandals, and 7 1/2 in Earth shoes, needed an 8 in these. If you have a back problem, check Earth out!

EARTH Energetic shoe - I wore Earth Shoes in the late 60's and early 70's. Loved them then and now happy to find tennis shoes! Zappos did a great job with online ordering as well as fast delivery service. After reading the reviews on-line I ordered a half size larger and it fit great. Thanks!

Great walking shoe - I love my Earth shoes- I walk about an hour each morning and I can feel a difference in my legs. They really increase the intensity of your workout. They took a bit of getting used to but it was worth it.

Love those Earth shoes! When I purchased my Earth shoes, I'd been wearing only MBT's for well over a year since they seemed to help the arthritis in my hip. Having invested $1000 in 4 pairs of shoes, I decided I'd better try something else. Am I glad that I gave Earth a try! My orthodics fit in them perfectly and they are ever so comfortable! I'm very happy with them - and with ZAPPOS!

Extremely Comfortable - I have bad heels and arches and need orthotics in other gym shoes. With the negative heel and all the support these shoes have I don't need them. This is my second pair or Energetic. Same style, different color.

I love Earth Shoes so I was looking forward to having an athletic shoe from them. When I tried them on they were, the most comfortable sneakers I have ever tried but I had forgot to order a size larger than regular shoe size, as one must do for sneakers, and they were too short. They were so clunky looking on my large size foot that I did not bother to order an even larger size. But if you do not need to minimize your size you won't find a more comfortable athletic/walking shoe.

Great sneakers - These are very comfortable sneakers and if you've never worn Earth shoes they are easy to get used to. I did have to order a half size larger than my usual size. They seem to run true to width. I wore these shoes all around Six Flags in Dallas and they were wonderful. I hadn't even had time to really break them in and they were great!
