Not so energetic -
The idea seems great, but these shoes are hard to walk in and rub on the heels. I prefer more cushion in the heel of a sneaker. The look on the foot is a little bulky. I wear a 5.5 and have a high arch, narrow heel, and wide instep. I prefer my old New Balance sneakers to these.

Walking shoe?
I love the earth shoes, I am not as happy with these. I find that when I am walking for exercise, I feel as if I am walking uphill. I can't walk for as long as I normally would. Good point is--my back doesn't hurt when I walk. These shoes are great for just doing my daily chores. I will look for others that are more comfortable to do my power walk in.

I really wanted to like these!
And please note that it is not the fault of the shoes at all, I'm sure they would have worked for someone else. I had ankle surgery several years ago and have to be very careful with where shoes hit at the ankle now because of all my various hardware (pins, plate, etc.). Unfortunately, these shoes rest right at a very painful spot, so I can't wear them. I wore them to the gym, however, before I figured this out, so now I can't return them.

Not sold on these -
I have severely high arches and plantar fas. I bought these shoes based on the reviews and have never had more foot pain than in the one hour that I was wearing them. Thank goodness Zappos has a wonderful return policy!!

Beware of blisters on the heel instep -
Beware! After the first wearing of this shoe, I had terrible, large blisters on each heel's instep, as well as on the backs; very painful. Took 2 weeks to heal. After breaking them in for three weeks, they finally feel OK. I have average feet and have never experienced any problems, especially with "sneakers". These problems could be associated with the "negative heel". Will not be buying a second pair, nor recommending them to anyone else.

Earth Energetic -
Like many Earth shoes I've tried, this shoe is comfortable everywhere except the back of the heel. Every time I have worn the shoes for more than an hour I have ended up with blisters from where the top of the heel rubs against my ankle. If it weren't for this, the shoes would be very comfortable.

Ended up in the Orthopedic docs office -
After using the shoes for a couple of walks I had intense pain in my right achilles tendon. I went to the Orthopedic doctor and was told that a lot of people experience that injury with the reverse heel shoes. This happened over the summer 06 and I am still having issues with my Achilles tendon. Only wore the shoes two times and now they are sitting in my garage.

Earth's Energetic - not so energetic -
Not a very comfortable sneaker. Don't feel much of a difference from any other sneaker. Not really worth the money.

Earth's Energetic walkers... just don't work for me -
While I thought I'd finally get used to these shoes, I just didn't -- at least not for the speed walking that I do. I imagine that other types of Earth shoes would be quite comfortable, but for fast walking, they're just not good... at all.

My feelings about Earth Energetic -
I have mixed feelings about the shoes. I found them easy to adjust to for the most part, although can find myself a little off balance on step ladders or stairs. I do not like them for longer walks; I feel even after a month that I "walk funny". I do not like the backs, as when putting my foot in the shoe, they fold inside. I think they could be stiffer. I do believe my posture is better in them. I do not think at this point I would buy another pair.

Hurting Feet -
After wearing the shoes in the house for several days, I felt they were comfortable and ready to wear outside. After wearing them for six hours on pavement, my feet were so sore on the sides my toes were hurting for the next two days even though I ordered a whole size larger than my normal shoe size. I myself would not recommend the shoe, but my husband got a black pair and is satisfied with them.

Bad design -
I have back problems, and so I ordered this shoe after reading the reviews and doing some internet research. I wear a Birkenstock without any problem, but these Earth shoes are strange. I tried to wearing it 15 minutes at a time just to get use to it, and after two days of trying the area between my little toe and my heel started to hurt terribly. I immediately return them to Zappos. That was several months ago, and my feet still hurts every time I workout on the cardio machine at gym. It got so bad that I had to see a Podiatrist and was told that I have perennial tenosynovitis on that particular area. So, I had a cortisone shot and a prescription to physical therapy sessions this coming week.

Not for me -
I'm puzzled by all the wonderful comments for these shoes. I found them extremely uncomfortable. I thought perhaps they require a break in period but they felt so terrible on my feet if I walked for any distance in them my feet would be so sore I wouldn't be able to walk for 1-2 days. It would take weeks to break them in. This is the second pair I tried. Because the reviews were so good I thought maybe the first pair just wasn't the right style for my feet. I guess these shoes just aren't for me. They're going back.

I normally wear a size 8 and the 8 is HUGE. They also are silly looking.

Don't buy these unless you want pain!!!
If buying Earth sneakers specifically this one, it would be advisable to buy one size or even a half a size bigger than your regular size, or just stick with New Balance sneakers and forget Earth altogether, although their sandals are quite comfortable. Even though their "negative heel" technology is highly boasted about, the top of the sneaker is narrow and because the negative heel thing your toes are pushed up to the front of the shoe unlike any other sneaker, therefore, if you take your regular size you may get foot problems, believe me...

I have never had any foot problems but the first day I wore these I had terrible shooting pains in the bottom of my foot. Stupid me, I didn't make the connection and wore them again. Same result. If I hadn't already thrown away the box I would return the shoes, as I will never wear them again.

Earth shoes were great in the '70's and couldn't wait for the '06 version. Due to a manufacturer's defect, I have had to return them but am anxiously awaiting a new pair. I'm sure my overall rating for the shoes will increase once I receive a replacement.

I thought this sneaker would reduce my knee pain (I have no cartilage in both knees). Quite the contrary.

This shoe is the most uncomfortable shoe I've worn. I work 10 to 14 hours a day my feet are sore at the end of the day. I will not buy these again. If I could get my money back I would.
