Based on my purchase experience and the two most important features for me: width and size. 1) a triple EEE width is true 2) size is half too long.

Very classic dress shoe. I wear as my daily go-to dress shoe. The shoes feel great on my feet, though they are a bit stiff.

Perfect fit to my foot. Own 2 pairs, fit better than other brands that cost twice as much.

I wrote a negative review of these shoes after two weeks of ware (in Dec 2014), but once they broke in, I have enjoyed these shoes, so I thought I'd do an update review. They are well made and look good. The tongue that's stitched to one side is something I've gotten used to. So is double knotting the laces to keep them tight. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase of the Melton.

Look, this is a great pair of basic dress shoes that everyone should have. Day 2 of wearing is the worst - the leather doesn't soften evenly and can push on your feet but it gets way better by day 3. They are quite shiny so keep that in mind if pairing with your clothing. Best quality for $ thus far.

These are great shoes for the price. They are reasonably comfortable so far. I ordered true to size and they fit well even for my slightly wider feet. Break in has been taking a while but I am definitely getting improvements. Not same caliber as some of the more expensive shoes but good to have as an alternate when needed!

Very nice, classy, and comfortable shoe. Does need to be worn once to be "broken in" (initial wear: shoe was very firm and was relatively uncomfortable). Wear shoe now regularly. Is a perfect complement for work/business casual attire and for nice suits.

I wear a pair of dress shoes everyday. After having broken in this pair of shoes I can say that they are better than acceptable. I am not thrilled with their comfort or fit but on the occasions that I wear them they are not uncomfortable. I do notice that they are not as comfortable as my other shoes. They seem to be lacking any cushion in the sole. The instep and the heel have worn in but also are not the most comfortable. They also cost less than my other shoes. I would recommend these for occasional use.

This is a nice, classic, dress shoe. I ordered these and the Boston Andover. I prefer the lower gloss and stitching of the J&M shoe. I wore these with a tux and they looked great. They are also great with work slacks and suites. They were broken in after about four days of wear.

Fit is pretty good. Size runs accurately. Leather is rather stiff and hard. Long break in (but I wore mine for 20 hours straight on the first day with good comfort, which speaks well of them. Just scuff the soles before wearing.

Pros: great looking, durable. Cons: not very comfortable, my feet get tired after only 15-20 min of walking, leather is difficult to break in.

Nice looking, but too narrow. These were EEE but not wide enough for my foot. Florsheim EEE so far has been wide enough.

Although the Melton's are very nice shoes they felt a bit tight on the width. But after using my shoe trees for a few days along with leather conditioner they fit nicely.

Good Zappos service. Good price on an all-leather shoe. Not the most comfortable "high-end" shoe but reasonable, and look sharp.

Sharp pair of shoes for the price. Very nice, and look sharp. They aren't replacements for the $300 J&Ms that you would purchase, but I think these will wear well for a few years. Leather bottoms are sharp.

Shoes look great and are pretty comfortable. The leather is a little harder than I anticipated. I purchased these instead of the Allen Edmond Fifth Avenues because of the huge difference in price. We'll see how they hold up! Overall, happy with the purchase.

Great fit right out of the box. Ordered my normal size, and it fit perfect. This shoe will work for any occasion or setting. It's well made, and I was able to break them in after wearing them for a few days. I would definitely buy another pair should these wear out. Really happy with the look and style.

Salesman was fantastic. Great selection of what I was looking for. Some additional padding beneath the cap toe seam would be very helpful for break-in period. Well constructed shoe and looking for long use.

Comfortable with a clean, stylish look but the color of the leather is hardly distinguishable from the dark burgundy Deerfield II shoes that I ordered at the same time. I would have preferred a lighter shade of calf color.

I am happy with this pair primarily because it has a 3AAA size which works well for me. I got a lot of help and encouragement from the sales persons I worked with to zero in on the right shoe for me. Thanks guys!
