I bought the shoes to wear with a new suit. I love the classic styling and they were comfortable right out of the box.I was very surprised how comfortable they were and I look forward to wearing them for many years to come.

This shoe is versatile enough for casual, work, or dressing up.

This is a dress shoe that is appropriate for a workplace where one is expected to dress well. It is not for casual wear. It is one of the few dress shoes that I have found in this price range that comes in narrow widths. My past experience is that I'll need to re-heel in about a year and re-sole the year after that. Surprisingly comfortable for a dress shoe. This is my third pair and I'll keep coming back to this classic style.

Used for work

Great with work suit or with jeans, high quality, stylish and as they break-in they are becoming more and more comfortable. I owned a pair of Johnston and Murphy's in the past and after the break-in period they were my favorite pair of shoes for years. I was tough on them and wore them out. This time I bought a pair I can refurbish.

awesome classic shoe. It is a tad uncomfortable, but my hopes are once the leather wears a bit, the shoe will be more comfortable.

Good service

Great for wearing any suit with. Stiff, but that's how I like it. It makes you feel like you're dressed up and ready for show. Shines up wonderfully. Comes in wide which is comfy for me. I wouldn't run a marathon in it, but I had a previous pair for 10 years and they still looked good: bottoms just wore out.

Awesome looking and comfortable shoe. This shoe fits any occasion with style and quality. The cost is very high but you have to pay for quality.

Classic & Timeless design! Great craftsmanship on both upper and lower portions of the shoe. I would recommend these to anyone desiring a classic shoe at a middle of the road price. Above and beyond the shoe is the customer service I can always depend on with Johnston and Murphy.

Great shoe to dress up for a wedding or special occasion or dress down with a pair of jeans.Color (Bordeaux) is versatile for work and play. I travel for business and this shoe goes well with a suit for a high level meetings or for business casual. Allow some break in time around the house.

I bought these shoes from a JM store in a mall and had great service. The sales people were helpful in getting me into a oxblood pair of 8.5s but after one wearing I knew they were too big. All it took was one phone call and they said they'd take 'em back and have the right ones shipped to me at home at no charge. The shoes themselves are drop-dead gorgeous. I wasn't sure about the color, but my GF convinced me they'd go with anything and they absolutely do. They have taken a bit to break in; no padded edges around the ankles, but so it goes with serious dress shoes.

This is my everyday work shoe. Being in the legal field, I don't want to appear flashy nor out of step regarding shoe styles. This shoe fits that desire precisely. Quiet yet makes a statement.

As a preacher I need good quality footwear that lasts. The Melton Cap-toe is that shoe. I like the quality and simplicity of design. It allows me to be on my feet for long periods of time without becoming tired. This is now my fourth pair (I also have pairs in other colors) and each pair has lasted approximately 10 years with proper care and cleaning. Thank you for an excellent product.

I use these shoes with black and grey suits for work. Get many compliments. A classic stylish look with just enough gloss to remain dressy but not too formal.
