I ordered expecting to receive in 3-4 days. Was surprised to get email telling me they were sending quicker and I received next day! I have a high arch and had to put on a knee high to get on. Once my foot was in there was plenty of room and comfortable. Wore them on a wet 50 degree day and feet stayed warm and dry. Love the rounded toe, and don\'t feel that my size 10 looks too big, color is what I wanted as well.

To back up a few comments: Very hard to get on! Once they're on, however, fit very well. Not as hard to get off. The heel is loose, will probably need an insert. I wear 8-8.5 and the size 8 fit me well. A little rough at the ankle bone, but should loosen with time. Wide at the tops. Toe is rounded, but seem a little more pointy, narrow than the picture suggests. Distressed is closer to a walnut color than a camel. They seem to be very well made with a nice rubber sole.

Actual color is a lot better. They are a little hard to get off, but I'm sure they'll get easier with more time. Extremely comfortable. I wore them around the house for a while to make sure I wouldn't get blisters when I wore them riding, and they were so comfortable I just left them on. I highly recommend them.

Basic and functional -
They were a bit tight and I kept the Ariat Heritage Western boots I ordered at the same time. They were a lot cuter and more comfortable. These were pretty tight and not as comfortable.

Getting used to it -
Once this boot is actually on it feels like it fits properly, is a comfortable walking boot as well as a good riding boot. Getting it on is tough, but becoming easier each time. I am still trying to figure out the best socks to wear with it.

This boot is surprisingly comfortable -- wore them the first for 10 hours straight and not a bit of discomfort. The top part of the boot is way too wide for skinny calves, but paired with a cute skirt, they still looked trendy and fashionable. The color looks MUCH BETTER than pictured -- they are a dark caramel brown.

Great boot, but runs very large. Wear an 8 or 8.5, returned this one with absolutely no problem and received the exchanged boots next day. Wonderful service.

Great looking boot w/ round toe that your feet will love -
This boot goes w/ all casual attire. Great for street walking as well as hiking or riding. Only problem is difficulty getting left boot over my wide, high arched foot. I have to really work that boot on. Right boot is no prob.

SMALL FIT -
I went ahead and purchased 2 sizes up from my regular shoe size (wide) because of the previous reviews I read. I'm glad that I did, because it does fit small. I like the style and color it came in - more 'chocolatey' than it looks online. My first cowboy boots ever! Glad I bought them. :-D Thanks Zappos for such a quick delivery. You guys are awesome!

Ariat's Heritage Roper review -
I bought these boots for riding horses (I will be a new rider). I wanted something easy to slip on and off and that would also slip in and out of the stirrups. I have a medium wide foot and pointed toed boots always seem too tight, so that's why I went with the rounded toe. I bought these a 1/2 size larger and they seem to fit fine. As far as comfort goes, they seem more comfortable than most boots I have tried, but still require some breaking in.

Ariat Ropers -
At first I got the Ariat Western R toe but had to send them back because the heels were too high for my flat foot. Next I ordered the roper which I am keeping even though it isn't as comfortable as a tennis shoe like I had hoped. The left one rubs a blister on my ankle and the right one hurts the small bunion that I seem to have. Nevertheless, I think they are the best I can do in a boot with my problem feet. I like the look and the softness of the leather. I found that wearing a thick sock seems to help. I think they will eventually break in and be fine. Some complain that they are hard to get on. I like it that they are snug. Since I have a rather narrow foot they work well for me, but I can see that some would think they run small. Great service from Zappos.

Comfy workhorse-
This is not a fancy boot, which makes it great for everyday wear. With a low heel it is super comfortable, and looks good with jeans. I put this boot on to go out to breakfast, then while working in the yard, then to the mall, then to the movies. It fits great and just gets better looking.

I wanted a pair of western boots that would be comfortable to walk long distances in when I'm out with friends, running errands, etc. I have a pair of Laredos, but they will make my feet hurt after a while. So I did a lot of research trying to find a pair that would work well, and settled on the Ariat Heritage Ropers! At first, they were very comfortable. I broke them in around the house. But when I tried to walk for a while, they gave me blisters on my heels and pinched/hurt my toes and balls of my feet. I've tried moleskin, but it doesn't help that much. I'm really sad, because I was so excited to wear these!! They're my first pair of Ariat's so I'm not sure what the others are like, but I hope I can find a pair that works well for my needs!

These are very nice boots and good looking too. I have another pair of Ariat Boots (The Heritage R) and they are a 9.5" medium. They fit great and I've had them for years. I naturally ordered the same size in the Ropers but they were too narrow and my toes felt a bit cramped. I called customer service and they were very nice. I decided to order a 10" medium. They fit me fine in width now and my toes are fine but now the heels are too loose!

Look good and the fit is pretty good but the seams on the tops are not flattened and covered and if I don't put moleskin on my left ankle I'd have a big blister from the very hard seam rubbing against it. Hoping I can soften it with time and some saddle oil.

Very heavy, yet the sole does not look lasting and so very disappointed that they were made in Indonesia, I purchased Ariat because I thought they were made in America, clearly they have sold out like so many others

I've worn this same style of Ariat boot forna out 12 years. This is my 3rd pair. Same model number, same size, same color, etc.
These new boots are visibally narrower than the previous pair and the toe is not as wide. The seams inside rub on my ankles, and now, after wearing them for 3 weeks, they are beginning to rub on my heels.
They are just not the same.

Love the boots. My old pair are really old and going strong.
But, these new boots are rubbing my ankle sides really bad, I mean deep rubs to the bone . Any ideas short of bandages on sides of ankles?
Thanks
Rick

Nice boots, but if you decide to buy online be aware that if you return them for a refund because of wrong fit it takes at least a month to get money back.

I've worn the Heritage Roper round toe and wide square toe for years. My last pair, ordered a few months ago, were a real disappointment. Lighter weight uppers and poor quality stitching that is already unraveling. This new pair is not durable enough for horse farm work.

Unfortunately, we had to return the boots. They were the perfect color and well made but each shoe fit differently.

I wear a 9.5 in Ariat boots but these run large, possibly a full size too large.
Also, they are described as “distressed brown” but they were darker in person and no distressing at all.
