I've been looking for a med height boot that looked like a cowboy boot and this is it! Color is great because it will go with a lot. The comfort is fine ill be able to walk all day in these. I ordered a 7.5 since I am a true 7.5 and they fit! In Frye boots I'm an 8. My feet are a little narrow and these boots fit fine and I'm sure over time they will give perfectly. Overall I'm happy with the boot and the brand! Thanks Zappos!

This is a GREAT knock-around boot. I'm on my third pair. We have horses and I wear these to ride and as a general work-around-the-ranch boot. Forget the traditional western boot with a higher heel: For walking as well as riding, these can't be beat. True to size, perfect medium width, easy to pull on with medium thick socks, and easy to pull off. I get them wet, walk through desert brush, kick cactus, kick manure, kick the dogs (just kidding...), doesn't matter. They look just as good after all of that, as they did brand new. And they look better with age - just like me. :-)

Excellent boot. I wore them around the house for a while before wearing them on the farm. Virtually no breaking in needed.

Love these ropers. Ariat knows how to make boots. The instep is a little tight at the moment but I think it will loosen with time. Pretty boots.

I bought these boots for a guest ranch vacation and couldn't have been happier with them. Ariat boots in general seem to fit better in the heel than other brands, and I love the no nonsense, classic styling.

These boots were a surprise success. They're women's 11; I'm usually women's 10.5 (hard to find) or a bad-compromise men's size. These boots ended my foot pain! They are wide enough in the front without being sloppy, and high enough in the toe box. The heel width even works, though I need to wear heavier socks for these boots. The sole is strong and firm enough not to flex the big-toe joint into pain. The leather is good. They disappear under boot-cut jeans and just look smooth. I use them for hiking, too. Great buy.

Love these boots! They fit me true to my size (8). The first 2 or 3 times I wore them they were a bit stiff, especially through the ankle, but after that they seem to have molded completely to my shape and are SO comfortable. They look great with a summer dress, or with jeans and t-shirt. Very happy with these boots.

I have been looking for a pair of old school ropers. I'd tried on several in boot and western stores and didn't find any that felt like they would be comfortable enough to wear. I decided to try these from Zappos and I am very pleased. These Ariat ropers are very comfortable and have nice cushioning. I have other Ariat boots and they are great!

By far the best pair of boots I've ever bought. I never write reviews but these are worth 5 minutes of my day. They have survived almost every situation and still feel great at the end of the day.

These are terrific boots. They are handsome and very well made. The fit is excellent one half size down. They are very comfortable, and you can walk a distance right out of box. The quality and fit are really superior to more expensive boots.

I have been wearing the boots every day for about two weeks now. They were comfortable from day one, no break-in needed. I'm usually a size 6, sometimes 5.5. I got these in 6 and they are a tad large, but they fit just fine with thicker socks. I got the Mission Brown and they are not as orange as in the picture. It was a deep brown. I used Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP for a little extra protection (I'm sure I didn't need it) and that darkened the color a bit. I've gotten a lot of compliments on them, and they are surprisingly comfortable to wear all day.

These boots are all I could have hoped for. They are light, slightly cowboy style but not over the top, and are by far the most comfortable boot I've tried on-- and I tried on a bunch before finding this pair. The pull tabs at the top make them super easy to put on, and they come off no problem. I'm not sitting there tugging at them. I bought these boots in early February and have worn them every day, but two, since! Love them!

I've owned 2 pair of these boots, same style and I LOVE them! I plan to buy another pair before long, even though the ones I'm wearing aren't anywhere near the end of their life. My first pair I passed down to my daughter when she outgrew her boots and she's still wearing them! Both pair of my boots have been through the mud and the muck, horseback riding, hiking, and even to the mall! They've withstood water and mud and everything else I've put them through and they are my preferred pair of boots. I have some dressier boots in my closet, but if I'm going to be doing a lot of walking, these are what I wear. I'm hard on my boots, but these are still awesome through it all!

I have six pairs of Ariat boots. One red, 3 black (short, regular and just below the knee) and 2 brown, including Western R Toe, Roper, Legend and Billie. I love these boots. They give me height without instability. With a pair of good socks they keep me warm in Maine. They also have rubber soles which are good in snow and ice. My favorites are black Billie, which I confess I took to the cobbler to remove the dusting/greying. They fit like a glove. The Roper is less cowgirl boot and more work boot, so does not fit like a glove around the instep. I bought my first pair at a local store, half price thinking I would not be out that much if I did not like them, but I did like them and 4 of the 6 were bought on Zappos of course!

These boots are all around boots for any occasion, including riding. I like the fact that they are rubber soled. Nice looking & functional, even though there is a stitched leather on each side of my ankles, unlined - these boots do not hit me uncomfortably on ankles. Boots that are lined on the inside stitching or boast a smooth lining are just more expensive to make, I guess.

Comfortable -- easy to wear and sturdy -- wear all day doing errands. Probably won't do any roping, but expect them to last a long time. Enough space for toes to spread out, maybe a touch too wide at the heel for someone with a narrow foot -- so I wear thick socks. I polished the boots with neutral polish to give them more of a glow.

I love all four pairs of my Ariat Heritage roper (2 of them are the same color -- one for work and one for dress). They are totally comfortable straight from the box! Love 'em!

These boots are comfortable and nice looking. I have several Ariat boots and footwear for work, casual, and horseback riding. I highly recommend the brand in general.

I love these boots as casual boots with jeans, or real work boots for the outdoors. I followed the advice of an earlier reviewer and sized down from my regular size 9 to an 8½W. They fit perfectly.

I have been looking for a pair of boots that I can wear anywhere and these completely fit the bill! I LOVE them. I have a high arch that prohibits me from wearing most boots (just cannot get my foot in). With 7.5 wide my foot goes right in and the fit is perfect! The boots were comfortable from day one. I have had them a couple months and wear them all the time. Comfortable, durable and great looking - what more can one ask for??!!

I love these boots! I already had another pair of Ariat boots so I knew what to expect as far as comfort goes. I picked my boots up at the post office on my way to work, I tried them on at work just to see if the fit was ok, and then decided to wear them at work for a little while. I wound up wearing them my whole work shift which is 9 1/2 hours of mostly standing, Ariats are truly the best boots I have ever owned!

I love these boots, I wear them all day at work on the weekends, on vacation to Turkey. They are my most comfortable pair of shoes. I had another pair of Timberland hiking boots I wore one day to mix it up, and there was far less cushioning that with these boots. My feet were sore after a day of Timbs, and better after my Ariats. They're nice to travel with, slip on and off in security and on airplanes, dress them up with the right skirt/dress, or jeans. love. them.

I love these boots. They are very comfortable from the minute you put them on. I've been on long walks in them, and they feel great.
