If you want a comfortable, basic, go with so many things sort of boots...these are great. They aren't fancy, but go with pants and skirts, have rubbery traction, and won't break the bank. If you're looking high end, handmade...look elsewhere. The size is pretty dead on, maybe go slightly on the small scale. I wear 5.5-6.0, and went with the 5.5 and they fit great.

I saw a woman wearing these boots and I had to have them. Since they arrived I wear them almost every day. They look fantastic with jeans. They took a few wears to wear them in, but now they are super comfortable. I used to wear Frye boots all the time, but they tend to hurt my knees. These boots have the same classic style, but are much easier on my body. I love them!

These boots are awesome. Comfortable out of the box and made of quality material. I wanted a boot that was casual and warm but not lines and these fit the bill. Ariat, you have done it again. :-)

I wear a 9 narrow and these boots are so comfortable. I have to wear a thick sock to keep my heel from slipping but I could walk in these boots all day!

I purchased these boots sight unseen via the internet. Measure both feet (one is usually slightly larger) and refer to Ariat's fit guide for size. When I opened the box, I saw that they were sturdy and very well made. I had wanted boots that could go from barn to street, from jeans to dress. These boots are subtle but strong, with enough toughness to protect if stepped on by a steed. When I slipped my feet into them, they made a distinctive, satisfying thump, as my heel slid home. These boots need to be snug enough to keep your feet from moving too much inside them, but still be easy to get on and off. Because they seemed made of such a sturdy leather, I took an extra pair of shoes with me on the first outing. There was no need! There was absolutely no discomfort and no break-in period. The footbed has enough arch support and cushioning to withstand pounding on city streets and all day wear. And I can now run into the barn without stopping to lace up paddock boots. The fit is perfection! I plan to never be without a pair of these boots and hope to buy one of every color. Thanks, Ariat, for a spectacular, well fit and well made all around boots!

My feet are picky since breaking my right heel years ago. These boots were a tiny bit snug out of the box but I was able to walk comfortably on their first outing and they have just gotten more comfortable every time I wear them. They have a classic look and can be dressed up or down. I love them.

This is a beautiful boot. I have wide, flat feet. I found the width of the boot out of the box was fine, but I needed to put in orthodic insoles (arch support) to provide enough support. There is a good pad in the boot, just not enough support for me. The break in period for the boots was a few hours of wear, not too bad. (See other comments on this boot for recommendations on break-in period.) I recommend these boots as being fashionable and comfortable for people with wide feet.

I wanted so badly to keep these boots, but I had to return them. They're just too big in the heel and too hard to put on. I'm very disappointed, because I love the look, but they're just not right for me.

Cute and comfortable right out of the box! Looks great with skinny jeans, leggings, or tights. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9 and the 8.5 fits perfectly.

I've had the heritage ropers in distressed brown for about 2 weeks now and can confidently say that I am a big fan of ariat. They run a half size large! I am always an 8.5 and I ordered the 8 in these and they fit perfectly. I also have the widest feet ever and am constantly not able to find shoes that fit properly. These do!! I got the wide and they fit like magic. The color of the distressed brown is a little bit darker than pictured. I just love them so damn much! Time to order more Ariats!

These are insanely comfortable!! I'm on my second pair and will likely keep buying these. They have perfect amount of both shock absorption and arch support.

These are great boots. The fit is great in my usual size with wool socks. There is plenty of room in the toes and enough room to tuck skinny jeans inside. They are easy to get on and off without a zipper. I do not like zippers. They may be a little loose in the heels for long walks, which I have not yet used them for. I like the man-made soles. The styling is simple but authentic looking. The black leather looks good enough to wear in a business setting. The price is not bad at all for the quality. I am quite pleased with these boots.

I have short Frye's with zippers that don't go on as easily as these do. I love them! I love the oiled leather, the slightly cushy insole. Love that I could get them in a wide width. I have a high arch with a high instep, which means I usually can't put on pull-on boots. But these went on easily and my foot doesn't slide around. The style is basic enough they look great with jeans and dresses. If you've had trouble with boots like I have, these will probably work for you. I am usually 7.5, sometimes 8 in boot whole sizes or athletic shoes, sometimes wide but not always. I got these in 7.5 wide, and even though they look a little long they fit perfectly with regular or thick wool socks.

I've never been able to wear a true cowboy boot - my foot shape has never allowed me to get one on my foot! The wide size of the Ariat Heritage Roper actually allowed me to put these boots on with ease. They are stylish, comfortable, and hit my leg at a flattering place. They're high quality, attractive boots at a pretty reasonable price. I never thought about wearing Ariats for anything other than riding, but now I'm addicted to the brand and can't wait to get more!

I absolutely love these boots! Almost an exact replica of Ralph Laurens Distressed suede Marlow boot priced at $795.00. The fit was true to size (9) for me. Great value and style. Also comfortable.

I wish I could give a detailed review about these boots, but I could not even get my foot them them to put them on. I am ordering the next size up, maybe I will have better luck with that. They are gorgeous boots, I've been wanting to order them for awhile now.

These boots are the best! I have ridden in this brand for years. I would order a half size down. For those having trouble getting them on over a high arch, try putting on your sock then slip a thin plastic bag over your foot and pull on the boot...they slip on like teflon. Wear them that way around the house for a while and the heat from your foot will help loosen and mold the leather. Your heel should rise up about a half inch when you walk. Super comfort and support. Zappos service is beyond compare.

I LOVE these boots! Ariat is one of the brands I buy that I know will be comfortable. In Ariat boots, I wear 5.5. In other brands, I'm a 6. These boots are SO comfortable.No breaking in. The Distressed Brown color is a dark brown, like a bittersweet chocolate or espresso. Exactly what I wanted. I LOVE IT. Great boots. Highly recommended. And, of course, Zappos is the BEST! Best service, best shipping!

I love these boots! Right out of the box they were comfortable to wear. I was looking for a pair of low heeled cowboy boots that weren't too fancy looking and felt comfy on my persnickety feet. The insoles are padded so that was a bonus for me. I ordered my usual size 9 and it is a good fit. I do have narrow feet but since my feet don't like to be hemmed in too tightly I took a chance and ordered a wide width. Turns out that was a smart move, my feet have breathing room yet they fit just fine. I love the already worn look to them. Makes me want to buy another Ariat boot. Zappos as usual delivered in an extra timely manner. Thanks Zappos and Ariat for a really great pair of boots!

These are great boots. I bought them to ride and work in the stables and they've been comfortable from day one. They look decent and they're easy to clean. Love them!

Love this true real leather comfortable boot. The toe area is rounded and doesn't squeeze the toes. I have a very high arch and found it very difficult to put them on, but once on perfect fit. I had shoe repair stretch the shaft area that was binding and they are perfect and also they showed me a trick for getting your feet into boots if they are tight. You fold a plastic bag lengthwise, insert it down the back of the boot -- helps you to slide your foot down into the boot -- then once in, pull the bag out! These are what I would call everyday "work" boots -- could stand up to high wear -- I loved wearing them to the rodeo -- and will wear them a lot this winter when I want to keep my feet dry.

These are my favorite shoes ever. They took two days to break in and I had to get used to my heel popping up (this is my first pair of pull-on boots), but after that, these boots became my most comfortable shoes - better than my sneakers or my hiking boots for long days on my feet. I wear them with jeans, skirts, and dresses, and frequently plan outfits around getting to wear these boots. The first week I was wearing them, someone stopped me in the grocery store and said "Those look like boots you have loved for a long, long time." That was the first week, and they have gotten better and better with age. I consider this my best shoe purchase ever.

Extremely comfortable! Lots of arch support. I've bought two pairs so far. I live in NYC and walk a lot and am very happy with these. I've also bought other Ariat boots and their insoles too. Their insoles are amazing.
