Beautiful brown boot that is so comfortable. The online image may appear a bit too orange in the stitching, but boot is not. No breaking in is needed. The lower heal height is ideal. I tried about 4 different Frye boots that were either too big or too narrow. These look very cute with jeans tucked in. These Ariat are my second pair and they fit great, med width is fine and it runs true to size.

This is my first pair of "real" boots ever and I have to say I am a happy cowgirl. These boots are about the most comfortable things on the planet and look good to boot! I love the casual rugged finish of the leather and have gotten a lot of compliments on them. I have "muscular" calves and normally can't wear zip up or tall boots unless they are wide calf, but these fit fine on me (granted, they are not very tall boots, they hit me about mid calf or so). I did buy a regular width pair and a wide pair, and ended up returning the regular width in favor of the wide as they just felt more comfy. (Note: the wide size refers to the footbed, not the calf size. Calf size of the boot is the same in regular and wide.)

This is an excellent boot! No break-in necessary. I wore this boot to England for five days. It was my only footwear and we walked miles every day. Love it!

These boots are awesome! I've got a narrow heel and have great difficulty buying boots that actually fit. These fit great - they took maybe 2-3 wearings to break in to the point where I feel like I've owned them for a long time. I wear them all the time - arch support works well for me and I can be in them all day with very happy feet. I've found that wearing them with thick socks works best. I give these boots a big thumbs up and may just order a second pair.

These boots were exactly what I wanted. They run large so order down a size! They are a little stiff, but if you are a boot wearer you know that will change with wear. A little tight putting them on but understandable since they are pull ons.

First pair of cowboy boots! I love these boots! I found these just searching for boots on Zappos. I had never heard of the Ariat brand. But, after reading more, I saw why I had not. These are the real deal, what actual cowboys and cowgirls wear. I read reviews from them and thought, "If they're good enough for them they're good enough for me!" I ordered my reg size in these, 8M. However, they were too narrow, and I don't ever wear wides. I called and talked to a rep at Zappos and she was extremely helpful. She upgraded me to VIP status and told me my replacement pair would be here tomorrow. And they were. I ordered then size 8.5 W. they, however, we're to big, lengthwise. I then ordered my reg size 8, but got them in a wide. I agree with some others that these run narrow. The 8W was perfect! Pretty amazing that within a week, I tried 3 pair and got my perfect size, paying no shipping, even to return the 2 others. What a great company! So, once you find your right size in these you will be so happy. I love mine! I make outfits just so I can wear these. I could wear them all the time.i also ended up buying a pair of Ariat cowboy boots in red. They're a different style, but I think they're in the Heritage line. I ordered an 8M in them and they fit perfectly right out of the box. Wore them all day the first day. They weren't quite as narrow as these so the Med. width was perfect on those. I would love to try this brand's riding boots next.

Love the boot. Got it in mission brown and really liked the color. Extremely comfortable and easy to put on and pull off.

Great boot. Comfortable out of the box. Tough to put on and take off; but, this is to be expected with the style of boot. Purchased for trip to Texas desert; rattlesnake country. Sadly, no rattlesnake sightings on the trip. I gave the boot 3 stars for Style, because these boots are about functionality & comfort.

I love this boot! I have only worn it a couple of times so far but both have broken in really nicely. I bought them because I have Ariat paddock boots for riding in and love them so much so I thought I would give the western version a try. These are now my favorite shoes! They are comfortable, warm, sturdy, and really good looking! They have a really classic look with a little bit of country western with the stitching at the top. I wear them with everything!

I already own the Ariat Roper boots in tan. They are in just as good shape now as they were when I bought them six years ago. Honestly, I cannot say that for a lot of the other fashion boots that I purchased over the years. Unlike the tan, you can dress up or dress down the black boots. I have already worn them three times with different style dresses (tailored & flirty). Twice with stockings and once without. These boots are truly a wardrobe investment, especially if you have a little urban cowgirl in you.

This boot looks nice with jeans. I bought it for work and it does dress up my jeans. It is comfortable and has a moderate arch. If you want more support buy a size larger and insert an orthotic as I did which makes the boots very supportive. I usually wear a size 10 but bought the boot in a size 11 for this purpose and it worked very well.

These boots are the most comfortable ever! I am ordering them in black too! I have problems with arthritis in my feet but you'd never know it! Ariat and Zappos will forever be my go to's! I usually wear a 7 and these run about 1/2 size small...but so worth it!

Love them! I use them primarily for working outdoors although they have been pretty comfortable even when I'm just walking around. They definitely need to be paired with good socks since the leather can rub your ankle bones if worn for long periods at a time. They also seemed a bit narrow in the forefoot, but exchanging for the wide fit was a snap because Zappos is awesome. They are well-made and will probably last forever. Very happy with my purchase.

Great boot! I normally take a size 9 in a boot and this boot fit great and was comfortable as soon as I put them on.

Really like these boots, my first pair of Ariats. Got the distressed brown -- great looking and comfortable. I have wide forefeet and ordered a 7W; when I first put them on they felt tight and stiff across the top of the ball of my foot. But once I wore them a little while and the leather warmed up, the boots loosened up nicely. The flexible sole makes them comfortable for walking. With my Fryes as my dressier boots, my Blundstones as my muck-around-the-garden boots, and these as my everyday-around-town boots, I'm set.

I bought these about three years ago. They're my favorite pair of boots, and they have held up well to farm work. I haven't kept them well, and they still look good and haven't cracked or worn out much. They fit easily in stirrups, and they clean quickly. Great boots from a great brand.

Love these boots! I got them in January and wore them non-stop thru the chilly, rainy Seattle winter and spring. Still wearing them on cooler summer days. I wear a 7.5 shoe/8 running shoe and got these in the 7.5. Perfect fit, roomy enough for a light to mid-weight wool sock in colder weather, but works fine with a light sock or barefoot in warmer temps.

These boots fit true to size in terms of length, but seem narrower than the real size, but I guess it's just the style. I exchanged my 8 1/2 M for an 8 1/2 C (or wide) and I am very happy with them! I was actually surprised at how comfortable they are. I wore them for the first time during a 10-hour workday and never had to take them off, even though I stand all day. There was essentially no break in time. I love the style, a little "cowgirl" but better than cowboy boots. The distressed brown is a great color, and they kept my feet warm all day on cold cement. I don't have a single complaint about them, very worth the money!

Love these boots! Incredibly comfortable and immediately feel like you've owned them forever. (If they don't, try another size/width immediately. Consult Customer Service as they're great to deal with.) I actually own two pairs in slightly different sizes depending on how many pairs or layers of socks I'm using and what season it is. They're my go-to boots for any occasion. The arch support is outstanding and helps make them comfortable for 18 hours a day wear.

These boots were a little hard to put on at first. I ordered a smaller size than usual, as other reviewers suggested, and they definitely needed to be broken in. But now that they are, they are so comfortable. I'll be buying Ariat boots for a long time to come!

Love these boots! Color and style are true to the descriptions. Was use to a fitted boot at the ankle, so it took a few days to adjust to the Roper style. I can sleep in these boots, they're that comfortable.

Hubby decided to get me these for Christmas instead of the Fryes I wanted, and I'm glad he did. Comfortable right away, fit fine with thick socks, and have not had any of the on or off problems mentioned in other reviews. Love the black.

I love these Ariat boots! This is my 4th pair of Ariat boots and they are the best. I am never disappointed. They are very true to size and fit like a glove, even when they are new. Also, I love Zappos! They have great service and are fine people to work with. Thank you Zappos crew!
