Always a favorite - I have always loved these for kicking around in - beware, they feel just like bare feet, so don't expect arch support, etc. Used to be that I ordered half a size smaller, but now I must order true to size.

A very sexy shoe! I have bought my wife Capezio ballet slippers for years. She loves them and they are sooo hot when worn with straight leg jeans or cut offs. When I was in high school Capezio ballet slippers were the rage - every girl had a pair but black slippers dominated, worn every where. The more worn the better!!! With all the imports of cheap Chinese made plastic knock offs its glad to read these reviews that some women love them too. I hope that they make a come back. Their classic style is timeless and YES they are great for street wear.

I purchased these at the same time that I purchased some very sensible New Balance cross-trainers (yay to Zappos, my first order with them!); while I am quite fond of the New Balance, I am absolutely in love with these little Capezios, and also the idea of being one full size smaller (6) in them, than my street size (7). Nice! I ordered 6D, thinking my feet are slightly wider than normal, but probably would have been better off with the medium width (C) - though the adjustable drawstring helps much with that, tied tautly! I've recently begun using the "New York City Ballet" book by Peter Martins as my primary exercise routine, and these work brilliantly for that (and the adorable look of these shoes prove an inspiration, truly!). Personally, I like the positioning of the elastics, and have not adjusted them like some reviewers have. They're just about perfect - and seem quite durable though they look so delicate, and when they've worn out, I'll surely buy another pair from Zappos. Superb!

Classic traditional ballet slippers - These are for dance class (indoors only) on wood floors or surfaces suitable for dance. They can be used for indoor slippers if you like, (I'd buy regular slippers). They were not made to go outdoors. It is nice that they sew elastics in for you. However, they are a little far forward than I like and was taught to sew them in. Just as Zappos' suggests for dance buy 1 size smaller than street shoes and usual or even narrower width as leather is very soft and stretches easily.

Capezio's Teknik - Beautifully made, fit is terrific. I bought them as slippers/VERY casual shoes, to wear after a long day in hiking boots-very, very nice. I usually wear a 7-medium so, based on prior reviews and what I wanted the shoes for, I ordered them in 6 1/2-wide so they could stretch (a LITTLE) to fit and have a little more leather in contact with the ground. I am very satisfied and will buy them again whenever they wear out.

Teknik Ballet - I had taken ballet for years and wore Capezios. Now that I am older and don't dance anymore, I still buy these for fashion (great with leggings!) and for comfort. There is no comparison to those so-called ballerina skimmers that you see - the real thing SO MUCH better! Be sure to buy 1/2 size smaller than your "normal" size - they stretch.

The Capezio ballet slipper is comfortable and attractive. It wears well and is easily wiped clean.

These shoes are great for ballet. I order one size up from my street size. I would recommend these.

FYI, I ended up buying the slightly wide size, 1 1/2 sizes bigger than my daughter's foot measured at a shoe store recently. After 2 returns, the third time was the charm!

It was a good fit for daughter with growing feet. Came quickly just in time for dance class.

I have always loved these as around-the-house lounge shoes. However, If you want a ballet flat to wear with a formal or as a fashion statement, buy one designed for that purpose! There are lots to choose from! This shoe does not have the support or the sole to be worn outside and it not designed for walking! That being said, it is cute and comfortable to wear around the house.

Classic ballet shoes. Toes is tight. Might want to order up one size.

Beautifully constructed of soft leather with strong seams. The wide elastic strap stays flat and is subtly embellished with the Capezio signature which is an elegant detail. As with most dance shoes, order a half size smaller than your street shoes for a proper fit as the shoe will form to the shape of your feet. This is a terrific shoe, fitting better and lasting longer than other brands.

The classic. Don't dance, just love to wear them around the house in place of slippers. Definitely run small; need to order a full size up.

Perfect fit - The quality of this shoe is demonstrated in the details of the stitching and the materials used. Capezio has always been a standard for the perfect ballet shoe and it's because of the quality you get from Capezio.

Great for ballet, just a tad bit snug in the toe - I purchased the Teknik ballet slipper and so far have been quite satisfied with the fit. Having not taken ballet in quite some time, I do not remember if the shoes were this snug at the end of the toe box. I may have been a bit more comfortable with a 1/2 size larger.

I got these shoes for my 9 year old granddaughter who has very wide feet. I was thrilled to find the extra wide but even that was not wide enough for her. She couldn't even get them on. I ordered the size of her street shoe and sent them back for a full size larger. Zappos got us a replacement before I even got the first pair mailed back. Wonderful service and here in time for dance class. Couldn’t be happier.

Great gift - My niece loves these!!! She asked Santa for real ballet shoes two years in a row, and he could never find them. I found them, and more, at Zappos, and now I am, even more than before, the cool aunt. They do run big. I ordered a half size smaller, and they are fine to play around in the house, but for lessons and actual ballet, you should order a full size lower than your usual size.

Sizing - I have found these shoes to be true to size. The ballet shoe size correlates to street shoe size.

Sizing is extremely small! My 7 year old daughter wears a 2 1/2 - 3 street shoe. After 2 returns, a size 4 1/2 is what she's now wearing in this ballet shoe.

Nice quality ballet shoe - I bought these for a dance class. Nice quality leather and construction. They look nicer on the foot than they do in the picture. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than my regular shoe size. I feel some very slight rubbing on the back of the heel, but I expect them to stretch out.
