Newport Review - I like this sandal, but I like the Keen Taos better. I thought it would have as much cushion as the Taos, but it does not. Still, the sandal is rugged, breathable and the foot last is fairly comfortable. I plan to take both the Taos and Newport when I go overseas to Iraq. I work for the Army Research Labs.

Great Look - A Bit Hot and Sweaty - Love these new Keen's despite them being 'hotter' than I'd hoped for, although living in Tucson your feet get HOT! Not really experiencing personally 'smelly feet' much these shoes seem to cause that problem...they say you can put them in the sun to help, which I need to try right away! The slide locks on the top also do not hold that tightly and it is unclear if you can open them and shorten the cords... Overall, nice look comfortable fit, minor issues with odor and tightness.

A Good Multiuse Sandal - I like this sandal very much. The solid toe box, anatomical footbed, and flexible lacing/webbing design and the fact that it's waterproof make it a very good multiuse sandal. I have gone for walks in it and spent hours in the pool with it, and find it great in both. The only issue I have had is that the very flexible and soft backstrap allows enough heal movement (lateral) that I have occasionally experienced heal pain. I thought at first that this could be solved by tightening the lacing--I now beleive that it makes sense to keep the lacing quiet loose, and let my heel rise naturally out of the sandal, more like a clog. This seems to have helped.

They don't "inhibit odor." I bought my son a pair of these. They protect his toes well and look great, but boy did they start stinking shortly after we bought them-- and it's not because he's wandering around in fetid swamps. I have to wash them regularly.

Nice technical sandal with an either "I love them" or "I hate them" type of appeal. I found them comfortable and like the fact my toes are protected. Not the prettiest things but who cares? "I love them!"

Comfort of goin' bare foot, protection of a hiking boot. My wife and I both purchased a pair of Keen Newport. We took the recommendation of selecting a 1/2 size larger than we normally choose. They fit great and are exremely comfortable.

I bought these shoes so I would be able to walk in the summer without socks. I thought they would be cooler than wearing sneakers and socks. However, they make my feet really hot. They may be okay in the fall but in the spring and summer, they make my feet way too hot. And I also got blisters on the bottom of my feet from walking 3 miles in them without socks, which is why I bought them to begin with...needless to say, I'm very disappointed.

These have a funny arch which hurt my foot. I wore them around the hosue just a little and I have to return them. They are very nice looking, though. They do not fit the same as Keen shoes that I have of the same size.

It is usually fast and easy to purchase and receive product from Zappos. This last purchase was on backorder for one month or more. But the customer service was professional and courteous!

Lasted 1 month then complete sole came loose on both sandals. Comfortable but not for professional everyday use.

Very comfortable but - These sandals--if you can call them that--are very comfortable, but if worn for a long time make my feet sweat, and sweaty feet with no socks are not a good thing. Fit is perfect, they will never fall off, but are very easy to put on and take off. Would be great rocky stream swimming shoe since they are lightweight, thick soles, and drain quickly, I don’t know how they would be on the boat with black soles. They do wash very easy and dry quickly. NO ONE LIKES THEY WAY THEY LOOK, if you care what others think.

I was not impressed with these sandals. I live in sandals most of the year and comfort and durability is important to me. First of all, the Keen sandal is a bit heavier than most sandals I've worn. The toecap is great for protecting your toes, but prevents easy removal of gravel and debris that invariably gets underfoot. The toecap also makes the sandal feel smaller than it really is, since open toed sandals give your toes more room to wiggle and flex. Because of the way the sandals are designed (no velcro strap or buckle to release) the sandal stretches every time you put them on and take them off, my pair split the seams on both insole straps after about 8 months of regular wear. The leather strap is stitched to a neoprene strap and the difference in the flexibility of the materials caused the seams to rip out from flexing caused by inserting and removing my foot. Something about the heel causes an uncomfortable pressure point on my heel. I would suggest instead, the Teva Katavi sandal, better price, more comfortable, better fit.

I purchased this item a while ago and was hoping it’s water proof (that’s what it says on the label) Vey soon the upper console was separated from the bottom one and no longer was stabs to wear!

My newport H2 sandals were not as comfortable as i thought they were gonna be . My feet get sweaty in them, and my little toes are rubbing on the edge of the straps which makes it very uncomfortable, also i prefer leather lining not this uncomfortable synthetic lining.

No longer as comfortable as they used to be. My original Keens were wide enough for my wide feet. Now only one width is available and it is narrow! And painful to wear. So sad to see the quality decline like this - they used to be great.

I am a serious hiker and was hopeful that these sandals would solve the problem of walking in water and dry trail. I hike the San Rafael Swell and Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. These sandals failed miserably. They are meant for a hike to the mall. The little toe problem "popping out" occurred. The foot pad became slimy when wet so you slipped around in the sandal. They picked up gravel like crazy with no way of clearing it out short of removing the sandal. Once wet they stretched like crazy. Finally they had very poor grip on canyon walls resulting in several dangerous situations. I had high hopes because once they arrived they were very comfortable and fit well. I could easily walk long distances in them in dry conditions. Once wet, all bets are off. They are fine for wearing to the soccer field to watch the kids but are awful for serious hiking.

Buy at Your Own Risk - The second day that I wore these sandals I sprained my right ankle so bad that I had to take three days off from work due to the pain. My ankle had expanded to about the size of a grapefruit, with black and blue marks all across my foot, so bad that it looked as if I had gangrene. My foot is still sore and swollen two weeks later. These sandals offer no ankle support whatsoever. In light of my negative experience, I can't possibly recommend them.

After several years of abuse, my first pair wore out. I searched for the same exact sandals and found the closest were these from Beanjust like my first pair. These feel right. Fit is correct and comfortable.

I bought these Keen sandals as backups to the pair I currently own and have used to travel the world for the past four years. If my present pair ever fall apart; which they haven't yet, I didn't want to wait for a replacement, because life doesn't stop and wait for you to catch up. These sandals are so well made and durable that I have taken them way beyond what other sandals could handle. I mean climbing up mountain trails, through a jungle, through streams and white water rafting. I think that they are the best sandals ever made. Yeah !!!

These sandals are so comfortable. I like that my toes are covered. I wear these sandals without socks. I ordered a 9 1/2 medium and I wear the same size in Sperry dock siders and wear a size 10 in Hokas. I didn't need to size up like the description says.

I'm guessing my first pair of these were purchased 15 years ago. My most recent purchase is my third pair. Pair #2 are now relegated to yard and garden work. They are comfortable and hold up well.
