This is the worst shoe I have ever purchased. Yes, I purchased the correct size. They fit, but seemed a little bit harsh out of the box. "Oh well," thought I, "I'm certain they're wonderful after a slight break in period." I bravely donned my new shoes and walked a couple of miles; 4 blisters on one foot, 3 on the other. These shoes felt like wires cutting flesh after long enough. If I loosened them ridiculously to alleviate the "cutting" sensation, they slipped around and gave me burning hot spots. I eventually made the choice to remove the shoes and gingerly pick my path back along broken sidewalks and littered streets barefoot. Keen also says these are for water. I shudder to imagine the damage done had I actually walked through water and then let these shoes tear into me. That may have actually landed me at a clinic. Why do so many people rave about this shoe? These ruined two days of a vacation; the day I wore them and a day to heal from wearing them. 5 stars for style though; at least they look good. Form before function in this case, I suppose. I'll be returning these. Breaking in new combat boots is infinitely preferable to walking in these shoes.

Disappointed - Keenly -
I own two pairs of Keen sandals (Monterey and Newport) and have recently returned from a journey through the Congo, Zambia and eastern Angola. A significant part of the journey was an expedition down the seldom traveled part of the upper Zambezi River that runs through Angola. I opted to take the newer pair of Keens Newports (over my all leather Monterey older pair that I have had for some years) on my journey as a back up to my boots anticipating difficult variable conditions including river travel because they promised to be water proof.
I am sorry to say that the Keens were not up to the challenge - they literally fell apart on me. The side straps separated from the sole and the front toe cap came away from the shoe. I am very disappointed and saddened that the quality of your products seems to have deteriorated. I work in very challenging conditions in Africa in countries were I cannot merely go to a local store for a replacement and rely on dependable hard wearing footwear as an essential part of my survival on site. I realize now that this product has become a fashion accessory rather than a serious outdoor footwear item.
