My daughter refused to even put the sandal all the way on her feet because the knot/twist detail was so uncomfortable to her. She said it dug into the top of her foot and I suspect it would have left an indentation. She’s had other styles by this brand and didn’t have this problem so I returned and will try something else.

Strap on one shoe broke while trying on.

This shoe is super slim. My daughter (7yo) does not have wide feet, and she could not even slide her foot into (a larger size) shoe. She is an 11, and I bought 12s.

It was too tight on my 5 year old even after stretching them in water and now I can't return them.

These are the oddest fitting/sized shoes. My 5 year old is on the tall/slender side and we struggled to fit her (normal-sized) foot into the sandal bed because the straps are so tight across the top of the foot. Once her foot was squeezed in there was at least an inch between her big toe and the tip of the shoe. These shoes don't seem like they were designed for children, I can't imagine how people make these work. Too bad! They're super cute in theory, but definitely not functional.

This is the second time I bought this brand for my daughter. Both times she could not even get the shoe on her foot!

Left bruise and skin abrasions around right ankle under the strap at ankle bone from rubbing.

This is our sixth pair of Saltwater sandals. The floral upper has come away from the strap after 16 days. It has also come away from a strap at the back of the shoe.

The pair I purchased broke within 5 minutes of my daughter putting them on. It looked as if they were only glued and not stitched as they were supposed to be where they broke. Bummed!

These were super cute and I really wanted them to work, but the material was really stiff and the straps dug into my little girl's foot. Returning for another color hoping they aren't as stiff. For reference: age 4.5, tried size 9, exchanging for an 8.

The leather is so much softer in the toddler version of these shoes. The texture inside the shoe lining is very harsh on little feet. It's a pity bcos they were my daughter's favorite summer sandals last year.

I was not impressed with these shoes at all. They are very cute to the eye but are very stiff and my daughter said they pinched her. She is wearing an 11 in most shoes but these were way too long. Also, the strap was almost impossible to get through. As cute as they look off the foot, these are going back. I'm surprised I was so unimpressed since most reviews were so good and I was hopeful I would be happy. No such chance.

So disappointed in this brand! The buckle is attached by 2 tiny staples that will fall apart within days. The staples also rubbed against my daughter's ankles and scratched it up. Maybe, the original version had better craftsmanship, but now it's made in China and poorly made! Never will buy from this brand again. But, love Zappos' great return policy.

These shoes are different from the "tan". They wear a lot more quickly. I have a daughter that wore her tan sandals for three summers (I bought them too big) and her little sister just got done wearing them for another summer. They still look great. Well, I bought these silver sandals for my 7 year old and after 4 months, I am sending them back to the company. After 2 weeks of wear, the back strap of the right shoe tore away from the base. I thought it was a strange mishap and had it resewn by a cobbler. Over the next few months, I noticed the silver was peeling off and the leather was looking floppy and worn. I made a note to myself to never by the silver again. But then in September, the back strap of the left shoe tore away from the base. At this point, there is no reason to have it resewn because the shoes look ten years old. Warning: do not buy this particular type of salt water sandal. I'm sticking to the tried and true colors they've been making for years.
