I expected more - Not all that comfortable for a walking shoe.

Ugly, white shoes - They looked cool in the picture, but lame in real life.

Am pleased but a little disappointed too - I like the shoes but I wear a B width and all the other shoes I purchased from you have been fine with the exception of this pair. They are a very wide B width. When I lace them up the two sides come together. They are marked B width but are obviously are more like a C width.

Comfy, ugly, and does not really fit too tight - Good while walking, the "rollbar" is very nice feature. But just does not seem tight around my foot, otherwise it’s a good shoe.

Not the Comfort I Expected - I have bought NB shoes for many years. I am disappointed after wearing these for about a month. I will not buy the 811 style walking shoe again. 1) There is no loop on the tongue to pass the shoe strings through and hold it in place. Consequently, the tongue constantly slides off to the side of my feet. I have to keep grabbing the tongues and pulling them back to center under the strings. Not good! 2) There is not enough cushion under the insole. After walking in them for a few weeks, they now feel more like the sole is a piece of plywood under my feet. It is very hard and I can feel every pebble on the pavement as I walk.

Not as substantial a shoe as I was expecting. Soft sides and overall lack of support in footbed. I use it for work, but not sure how it qualifies as a good walking shoe.

Attention to detail - I bought these for my husband; who says he likes the original model the 811 replaced much better. Was that the 810? Not sure. These shoes have a small but very irritating problem. They put the slot on the tongue, in which you thread the laces to keep the tongue stable, waaaay too far up. It's clear up by the toe...less than an inch from where the tongue is attached. So naturally the tongue is sliding down the side of his foot and becomes uncomfortable in a very short time. Quite annoying.

MW811 - While these shoes were big enough for my very wide foot they lacked cushioning in the insert making this an uncomfortable shoe to wear.

Top Leather - I have an old pair of New Balance MW810 Bk and the top leather is much better quality than the one I just purchased from you. In fact the ones I just got seems like Vinyl instead of leather. They are also wider than the old B width of my 810's. I wish now I tried an "A" width.

A fair shoe for the price. If you are looking for a basic walking shoe to wear for average walking or on a job where you can sit when you want then this shoes is OK. For longer periods of time the shoe does not seem to remain as comfortable. On teaching days where I have had to be on my feet all day the shoe did not give me the support I thought it would. The style was fine, but when new my feet tended to slip on smooth or wet surfaces. This conditioned seems to have gotten better now that the center part of the sole is worn. The material had a cheap feel to it and I will be interested to see how long the shoes last. I will not purchase this shoe again, I do not think it is vale priced for what I received.

Great Shoe! But makes my feet sweat???? The fit was perfect the style excellent, everything but the simple fact that it doesn't breath--so my feet would sweat when just sitting. Even now in the Houston TX fall months of December when walking they would get uncomfortably hot.

I buy New Balance as I have very wide feet and generally their product is quite comfortable. However these shoes are not. The tongues slide to the side and the laces become uncomfortable. The general quality of the shoes is not to what I expect from New Balance. The soles are very hard and are slippery on smooth wet surfaces. A disappointment.

I bought these black shoes and found them to have poor arch support. Funny, the BROWN color version of this shoe that I also purchased has EXCELLENT arch support. Of course, now I cannot get the brown ones in my size. They are probably figuring out how they can make them more cheaply, and then they will ALSO have poor arch support. Its should be the same shoe.\r\nI think that Zappo\'s quality control on shoes is poor. They get shoes from many different suppliers and just assume that the standards will be the same. We lose. The more successful a company becomes, sometimes they get careless. Too big to fail? I wonder.\r\nVERY DISAPPOINTED. Sure you can send them back but the inconvenience remains, and Distrust begins to build.

Shoe was very disappointing not living up to New Balance's usual well made standards. The shoe runs fairly narrow for a 4E model and there is no cushion in the bottom of the shoe to protect the foot.

Sorry New Balance, but your synthetic uppers have caused my feet to stink. I bought them hoping to get a shoe with good arch support but have had to replace the insole with a custom made one. I can't get past the odor.

Re: Inferior Brown/Black MW811 - I ordered this shoe in brown/black expecting the same fit as the other colors of the MW811. I was very disappointed. The front part of the shoe is shaped differently and narrower. I'm exchanging them in black. If New Balance wanted to reshape the shoe, they should have given it a different model number.

Wrong number! I have worn the previous model of this shoe and was very satisfied. However, with the redesign of the sole I am looking for another shoe. I walk on pavement and sidewalk several miles each morning and this new sole feels like I am walking barefoot. There is little or no padding and I have had sore knees and aching hips during the few weeks I tried this new design. Needles to say, Nevermore!
I'd also recommend:
Forget this one and go to the Rockport walking shoes.

High Volume, Squeeky - My previous NB experience has been with court and running shoes, size 12/2A. New Balance no longer makes a court shoe in 2A width. The first pair of 811's I ordered had to be returned for 11.5's. The width was marginally ok, but the shoe had such high volume that I had to put 1/16" cork sheet in the forefoot. Shoes squeak with or w/o the cork. It is due to the footbed and talcum didn't help. Shoe feels like a pair of bedroom slippers, and that's not a compliment. Even with my very narrow feet, I got a much better fit, comfort, and support with a pair of classic Adidas low top basketball shoes last year. I'm saving those for walking on vacations and just using the NB 811's for watching TV, going to the frig, etc.

WW811 – 8 1/2 Wide - Shoe did not fit. It was too big, and when tried smaller size it was too small. However, the men's MX602 fits perfectly. Customer service was outstanding.

Disappointment - I have foot pain and had always heard that New Balance was the best shoe on the market for foot support! I have worn Rockports (size 11.5 m) for years, so when I ordered the 811, I ordered size 11.5 m. They were much too small, so I exchanged them for size 12 and those were much too large. I had already worn them before I realized that they were too large (I guess they stretched), but anyway it was too late to send them back! I was most disappointed in New Balance, but I was extremely impressed with Zappos service. I felt they did more than they had to in exchanging the first pair 811. I will definitely keep shopping at Zappos but not for New Balance. Claude M
