Need better selection for A and AA shoes. Since childhood I have had very narrow feet. It used to be that most shoe stores could fit me fine from their inhouse stock. In recent years I find it almost impossible to find A or AA width shoes. In fact the ONLY shoe I can find is a chalk white walking shoe made by NEW BALANCE. Unfortunately I have to wear them to dressy parties. Why oh, why can I nnot find comfortable casual shoes in truly narrow widths? Surely I'm not the only guy in American who is looking for attractive comfortable shoes that fit me. The only manufacturer in existence seems to be Allen Edmonds in new york for prices mostly beginning at about $300. Please help me.

Nice shoe, but a bit orthopedic looking - The shoes are comfortable, but seem to be a bit larger than the same width NB 625's that I previously owned. And, yes, these shoes (especially the soles) are very "orthopedic looking," so don't get them if you're not OK with that look. Otherwise, they are fine.

Style for the Office, Comfort for Me - This shoe can be worn to an executive meeting, proudly mingle with the oxfords and the wingtips, and then take you for a long walk around the park. It has the classic style that I need, and the comfort and durability that I want.

Want comfort with limited style? This shoe performs exceptionally well for the price and is without a doubt the most comfortable walking shoe I have owned. Style? Well, let's just say it won't turn anybody's head! The toe looks rather blocky and the entire shoe is all white without any contrasting trim. I would highly recommend it as long as you are looking for a shoe that supports and fits very well without all of the "glitz". Zappos upgraded my shipping for free and I had my order within 3 days of order. Their customer service is superb and I will be a repeat customer for many more years!

Oh, My Goodness!!! :) I usually don't bother to write reviews... However, I have to say that I have been searching for 1 1/2 years for comfortable shoes. I wear 10 1/2, 4E shoes in an SL-2 last. Almost impossible to find. I tried these and they are fantastic. Not less amazing to me is the customer service, which I didn't expect. I had to return some other shoes twice to find these... They shipped them to me, always less than two day's.

good lightweight workshoe - I use this for my high volume restaurant job and it gets the job done. Lightweight, all black with no visible label. Good cushioning at the heel. The only strange thing is the insoles are firm in odd places, like under the outside of the ball of my foot. Required wearing them in for a few shifts.

NB MW 811 - I bought the shoe to use on a trip to Italy. A considerable amount of walking was done especially up and down the narrow hilly streets. The shoe performed exceptionally well. I just feel that a little more cushioning on the inside would be great.

Wide Shoe Looks It, Feels Great - It's doggone wide -- 6E!

One of the most comfortable shoes I have worn - These are among the most comfortable walking/standing shoes I have worn. I purchased them after doing a bit of online research (I work in a Blood Collections Center, and I am on my feet 8+ hours daily). The shoes are light, flat-soled and wide for stability, and provide sufficient support in all the right places. I would reccomend them to anyone on a comfort standpoint; the only complaints that I have are the color. I chose white, but the sole of the shoe was visibly more green than the leather, which had a white-bluish tint to it. The laces where of a yellow hue. I don't know if that's just the pair I bought, or if they need to color coordinate their "whites" a little better. Size-wise, the shoes felt ever so slightly shorter than their size, but practically speaking, it was a non-issue. Other than that, I love these shoes and you probably will too.

The shoe was okay, but not as comfortable as I thought they should be. I bought them for work shoes.

I have only worn these shoes twice but they were just what I was looking for. They are very white and plenty wide enough for my wide feet. I haven't broken them in and I am not used to them but I think they will work out great.

These are some ugly shoes. While it's nice to see a shoe in 6E, they're so flat that they're next to unwearable. They're also very long. I would wear a 12.5 6E normally, but I bought these in 13, as it was 12 or 13. I should have gone with 13, because they feel like a 14, and the lack of support contributes to a popping when the shoe lifts from the ground.

Bought a brown pair for work. Had a pair of 800s before, which I loved. I thought the 811s would be similar, but they\'re not. Not nearly as comfortable. Good style, though. I won\'t buy this cheap again.

A very narrow shoe when compared with other brands I have tried. If New Balance can't get their sizing right, I'll stick with Reebok.

I’ve had better shoes from New Balance. These shoes are too loose in the heel area. The movement is mostly up/down (not side to side).

Wouldn’t want these for walking long distances - These shoes are comfortable at work behind a desk. I wouldn't want to walk far in them. The heel is loose and the toes are tight. Most New Balance shoes I've had have been great. These are adequate, but not a walking shoe.

Attempting to resolve comfort issue - As delivered, the insole seems to have too much friction, causing my Thorlos walking socks to "bunch-up" between the ball of my foot and the toes. I have also tried other athletic socks which are not padded like the Thorlos. As this quickly becomes very uncomfortable, I am trying other insoles (including Spenco) to hopefully salvage my shoe purchase. I use the shoes for PAD therapy only, but the comfort level is not even bearable for the length of time spent in the fitness center. As recommended by Thorlos, etc., I purchased a size 11-D which is a half size larger than my normal 10 1/2-D (I did try a 10 1/2 as you can see from my account record) but the shoe still doesn't feel right as noted below. I am sorry to seem displeased with the shoes; I am trying my best to find a solution other than just buying another shoe.

MW811 - I’m disappointed with the shoe. The shoes are a hazard to wear because of the extra long laces. The laces are constantly coming loose and create a tripping potential. Additionally, the tops are extremely soft and did not hold up very well after being packed in a suitcase for a plane trip. I would not recommend this shoe. I have had many prior pairs of New Balance shoes and was always very satisfied. This shoe does not meet the usual standard.

Good shoes overall, but not the most fashionable. I have read that a lot of nurses enjoy this particular type of shoe from a nursing website. From my experience with the shoes so far, they do a decent job. I am happy to support American jobs who put the shoes together. I needed a pure white shoe as part of a required uniform and this does the job. I will personally add some insoles for more cushioning, but that is for my feet. Style-wise. I ordered the men's shoe, and it is a bit strange that they designed the shoe with a large light blue style under the shoe, but that is a personal opinion. The shoes do squeak a bit when walking in a hurry in a grocery store.

A Fair Shoe - Be sure to replace the very thin insole that's inside the shoe and replace it with a better one from any department store display. Then the shoe will be more comfortable. The shoe doesn't have much "flexibility", so I say it's just a fair shoe.

New Balance shoes - I thought the shoe would be wider. This shoe, like several others, still cramps my right foot. Need one size wider, but you don't carry them.

CHANGE IS CONSTANT! I have been wearing the 811 model for the past few years. This is the first time I tried the Black/Brown color. I have a wide foot and the white, the black, and the bone colors fit perfectly. I found this shoe to be narrower than marked. Zappos Customer Service Department is the Best in the Business.

Marty - I have a wide foot. This shoe, which is EE, feels much narrower. It may improve after a long break-in period but it is very tight at the present time. I should have ordered the 4E. I wore the Rockport Birch model for years but it has been discontinued. I am unable to find a wide walking shoe that fits properly. I have been wearing the Rockport.

Abnormal heel wear - A wonderful fit in all dimensions. A joy to walk on hard surfaces. However, it doesn't seem to 'breath' well and my feet get unusually sweaty over a 2 mile course even in cold weather. Walking 2 to 3 times a week, 2-5 miles each and after 4 months the heal cushion was gone and the substructure of the shoe was apparent. Great shoe but not much wear for the price.
