I have difficulty with narrow shoes and the New Balance walking shoes I used to buy were discontinued. This are much more expensive, but my feet don't hurt!

Need for stability when walking - They may be ugly, but for walking, shopping or working they do the job. I would like if they were as slip resistant as the ww631bk, that way I could wear them more.

Amazing what the right size can do - I have a 10AAAA foot and finding any shoe that fits is challenging. Finding a walking or running shoe has been impossible until now. Thanks to Zappos and New Balance, I found a pair of walking shoes that fit, are stable, and can go the distance. I am training for a walking marathon, and it is amazing the difference it makes to have the right shoe. These New Balance WW811s are the ones that I plan to wear for the event. Note however, that they are all leather and do not breathe much, but I gladly exchange that for not having the heel slip up and down.

New Balance WW811 - The New Balance WW811 is a comfortable shoe, but for me, it seemed much wider than other D widths that I have purchased from Zappos. So I had to return them and order a different pair.

I paid more than normal for these shoes because they were supposed to keep my feet from turning inward; however, I'm not sure they are going to do such a good job with that. The fit is good and they look good but my feet still want to pronate some in them.

Nice wide shoe - I bought these for my aerobics class... so I wasn't too concerned with looks (they look very masculine or "old lady" to me!!)... But I wear a WW so my choices are limited. Of the dozen or so shoes I did find in my width, this is by far the most comfortable and supportive shoe. My only complaint about the fit is, as is the case with so many wide shoes, the heel is also fairly wide. I had to add heel pads as my heel is quite narrow! Very good support for exercising!

If you need wide, try PROPET brand... they are GREAT!!

Reasonably comfortable - This shoe is reasonably comfortable and light weight, because it's made out of plastic, it seems. As a result I'm not sure how long it's going to wear. Also, it looks plastic-y and a little clunky.

Works for me - I have wide feet and have a problem with a neuroma and this shoe works for me. I wear it in different colors all the time. I wish it came in suede or something a little more dressy or casual or something. But it works well and is very comfortable.

Have not worn them outside yet - I was quite disappointed to discover that the shoe was not leather, especially since the price was quite high.

ALWAYS COMES THRU FOR ME - I needed shoes for working in a fast paced casino snack bar. Lots of running around on concrete floors. I also have neuropathy, heels spurs and old fractured bones in my feet. 811 is 'my old friend'. I wear them ALL the time. I also have them in beige. They work well with my orthodics. Been wearing this style for years. I’m glad I ordered the 926's but got a pair that was 'mismatched'. Seemed like a defect from the factory. That was too bad as they would have been a superior choice due to LOTS more support and they seemed to be able to last longer as they were a sturdier shoe. Unfortunately, they didn't have any more black in stock, so, I went to my old stand by. Next pair I need I’ll try the 926's again. But these are fine for work although if you work (and walk-either playtime or work time) I don't think they'll last more than 6 mos. and, the price is right. Also, Zappos went beyond the call of superior customer service getting these to me in record time. P.S. They are ugly, ugly, u-g-ly.

Feels good, but - Overall, I think it will be a serviceable shoe for a long time. I have a narrow, thin foot. The heel and vamp are narrow enough with socks, but I feel that it is a little wide through the ball of the foot area to be considered a narrow. It IS narrower than a medium. There's lots of toe room. Length is good.

First time I've ordered this style. Wanted something for winter plus I just had my second hip replacement and needed a new supportive shoe. Very full toe box. Nice for thick socks. I found they ran wider than other New Balance sneakers I've owned.

Big Ball, Little Heel - I have a wide, OK double wide, ball and a normal (what ever that is) heel. These shoes have two eyelets at the ankle. This second eyelet allows you to snug the shoe in the ankle so your heel stays in the shoe. I have worn these shoes (or the model they replaced) exclusively for about 12 years. They were well and long. Outside of needing more padding in the sole I am satisfied with them.

These come in a 4A!!! Thanks for finally stocking a new balance in something narrower than just narrow! I normally wear a 3A (Trotters and Munro 4a is too narrow) but this width fit just fine. It's not too chunky which is refreshing. The foot bed is not very soft at all, but I am not having a problem with it like I normally do with firm inserts. This is a great shoe if you require stability control. Heels are not slipping. The arch support is OK, but not outstanding. I have a very high arch. I haven't mall walked in these, but I can go about my daily chores without pain which is a rare thing for me. I think these run a bit long. I was sized at a NB Store as a 9. Had to order the 8 1/2 and give Mom the 9 which she loves.

I was disappointed - I'd read such great reviews about this shoe and I was very disappointed by it. I've worn several other styles of New Balance and wanted to give these a try. These felt great out of the box and I like the stability in the heel but there is not nearly enough cushioning in the ball of the foot. I could not go more than 2 miles in these shoes. I'll be able to use them for shorter walks but I was looking for a shoe that I could use for >6 miles and this is not it (for me).

New Balance WW811 Walking Shoe - Very sturdy and comfortable. Cleans easily. The narrows fit my narrow heel well without being too narrow in the toe box.

Fourth Pair of New Balance Walkers - These walking shoes accommodate my orthotics and have a large toe box, which gives my arthritic toes lots of comfy room. My second pair of these shoes was purchased in WW and I wore them through rehab for knee replacements when my feet were very swollen. My current two pairs in black and white were purchased in a wide width. I can get away wearing the black pair for business.

I'm really a Birkenstock enthusiast because I have a lot of foot pain, but New Balance is a great sneaker company, so I went back to these. I have always enjoyed the white New Balance sneaks and decided to order a pair in black so I could more easily wear them to work with black slacks when my feet are too tired for something dressier. I prefer an inside that forms to my feet, but these aren't bad. I added my air cushion Birkenstock insoles and now the shoe is great. I do wish they would provide a better arch, but I'm not finding many shoes that address that need other than my favorites above. The shoe is comfortable and snug, giving me just the right support. I usually order an 11N, but some NB's run small on me, so I went with an 11 1/2 N. It worked.

First walking shoe purchase - I never rate anything the highest score possible, I just don't think anything is perfect. These shoes were listed as vegetarian shoes, which I was looking for. Also, I’ve been looking for a somewhat solid sole as my last pair of shoes (which I bought in a shoe store) although comfortable, started losing the pieces of the sole after getting wet. This NB shoe has one gel piece down the middle of the sole and otherwise has a solid sole. I've only been wearing the shoes a couple of weeks, so don't know how they will be after getting them wet a few times. They have a wide toe space accommodating my bunion on one of my feet. I have been able to wear them all day, without breaking them in. I'm very happy with these shoes and plan to purchase either another pair of these shoes or try another style. I am very happy with the service at Zappos. I ordered the shoes on a weekend and they were here a few days later...

They're too big! I have been buying New Balance walking shoes for years and know that I need to buy a 1/2 size larger than I buy in any other shoe. In other words, I wear a size 9 shoe, but in New Balance walking shoes I buy 9 1/2. This is the first pair I've bought that a 9 1/2 is too large. I should have bought my true size 9.

Comfortable but a little ugly - I buy these for the fit and the comfort. I wish they were a bit more attractive, but my feet love them anyway.

My feet are happy - I like the fit of the New Balance shoes. I did like the WW810 style better. I wear a size 12 D. I broke my right foot and I have a pain in my foot. Comfort and support mean a great deal to me.
