Bulky and very heavy...felt like cement blocks on my feet!! I have an earlier version and they are narrower and lighter.

I am a very typical shoe size 8 and ordered as such. These boots are way too big and I am unable to wear them.

I ordered these shoes in a size 10 and they made my feet look huge. When I first opened the box, I thought that I had mistakenly ordered men's boots rather than women's because of their bulkiness. Having a pretty large foot for a girl, I really did not like them. That being said, I do have to say that if you are looking for durable snow shoes, these are the shoes for you! They are extremely well made. My feet would 100% stay warm in them during the winter. I wish that the front of the boot was not so circular so they would look less clown-like.

I wanted to love these boots so badly - but they are just not very practical or helpful. For starters, they weigh about 15 lbs (slight exaggeration, but very heavy) and are trip-worthy. They are not easy to walk in or sit in. On top of that, they do not actually keep your feet warm. The insulation doesn't do too much. I live in Chicago and wanted to invest in a great warm pair of boots - these sure are an investment, but just not great for actual snow and cold.

You probably can't tell by the pictures, but these boots are too large compared to your legs when you try them. Other models are not as big as this one.
It would be great if Sorel uploaded some picture of a model wearing them so you can see what I'm saying.
If you don't mind that, these boots will definitely keep you warm, excellent quality, and the colors are awesome.

These boots run 2 1/2 sizes bigger than your normal shoe size. They are very heavy and difficult to walk in. I can't wear them unless there is a lot of snow because it's hard to move around in them. The insert never stays inside the boot. Every time I take them off it comes out and it's extremely difficult to get back in. The only pro about this boot is the warmth. I would have looked at a different model of Sorel's if I had time but I needed them for the snow.

I honestly feel like I have tires on my feet when I wear these. I go to a snowy college and getting up many stairs is very difficult because of how heavy they are. I wish I returned them before I wore them. They are cute, but they're massive! I would suggest a different Sorel boot because these are uncomfortable. But they are well made!

Order about 2.5 sizes too big if you'd like to get them actually on your feet. Great deal on great product, but had to send them back twice to get the right fit.

These are cute and true to size but they are way to bulky for my liking. I look like I have three sizes over than what I am with this boot. Otherwise too bad because they are cute and warm.

These were great boots for 2.5 winters. I wore them for shoveling and general wear during snow storms in NH... until the rubber on the bottom cracked and they are no longer waterproof. There's a fold that develops in the rubber above your arch/ball of foot and that's where they cracked on both the left and right boot. If you have your receipt, you might be able to get it replaced under warranty. I don't and now I have nice looking but useless snow boots.

These are SO heavy! Find it very difficult to walk in them. They are relatively cute, warm and waterproof but it's a workout to try walk in these. Also cannot be worn for driving as you can't feel the pedals. I'll keep them for shoveling snow but not what I was looking for, for commuting back and forth to work and wearing throughout the work day.

I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas since we were spending the holidays in Utah. After wearing them the first time, he complained that his toes were cold. So we are returning them. We are very disappointed as we thought there would be no issues.

I just ordered these on Wednesday and got them on Monday. I usually wear a 7.5 or an 8, so after reading the reviews and seeing that these fit true to size I got a 7.5. I tried them on today and I have about an inch and a half of extra space. They were also much wider than I thought they would be. I seriously thought they accidentally put the men's caribou boot in a women's box. I can't even walk in the boots without feeling like I'm going to trip and fall, it's very disappointing. I want to order a 7 but I'm too nervous it won't fit.

I received my Caribous today, and they are very very large. My foot measures to 6.5/37 on the nail. Without a sock, my foot slipped out of a tightly laced boot without any effort. With a heavy winter sock on, it's only slightly better.
I'm hoping that the extra room in the toe box will help retain heat as tight boots = cold feet, but I am concerned about slipping (as slipping boots on heels = painful blisters).
That said, there's no real support in the footbed so I'll add arch and/or heel cups to give the footbed some support. If I end up having to constantly apply mole skin/sports tape to avoid blisters, I won't be happy.
Fingers crossed that if further investment in this expensive boot doesn't work out that Sorel will stand behind their product.
Things that make me want to keep the boot, A) reputation, B) style & design (although full sheep skin inner in addition to the wool (outer) lining would be a great touch - there's room!), C) beefiness - I like a solid step (also protects from buried objects beneath snow), D) the large size might work out when I need to slip something on/off quickly (e.g., mail/trash run).
I do not yet have enough information to recommend, but I'll keep you all posted as time will tell if they're too large...frost already this week, so, Winter is Coming!!

Loved these boots, was determined to get them once I bought a similar style that weren't waterproof. Really love the style and living in New Hampshire and having to endure the crazy winters here I thought they'd be a great option. First thing I notice when I receive them in the mail: they're heavy. Heavier than any normal boots I've held or owned. I assumed that was normal though and would take getting used to. But that's not the problem. I realized how extremely huge these boots were when I compared them to every single other boot I own. I ordered a size 10, which I usually do with every shoe, but when I put them on my feet they were about two sizes too big. Not sure if this is a manufacturing problem or if I should've sized myself with the online chart. But when I order a size 10 I kind of expect a size 10.. Really feels like a men's size, and trust me I've double checked, it's a woman's shoe. Highly disappointed now I have to return the boots, plus Sorel doesn't cover shipping costs on what will be a very heavy package due to the weight of the boots and the size of the box. Very unhappy.

I wasn't expecting something to make my foot look danty and or small but these were very big around my ankels. I felt as if I could not get them tight enough to feel comfortable. Sending the product back and I already spent a small fortune on the boots and now I have to pay to return them.

have a really old pair, made in Canada, great quality. Second pair, Chinese mfg, didn't last as long. Just got new pair, design of boot liner has been changed for the worse, took me 30 minutes to get them on, and sized a little smaller than prevous pairs. back they went.

My girlfriend got me these boots for Christmas, as I had seen many people both in Minneapolis, where I used to live, and Chicago, where I now live wearing them and was always talking about them. The -40 degree weather rating was very appealing, given the weather we have here. Well, after the two polar vortexes we've had come through, as well as some other cold weather days, I have to say I am truly disappointed. Even with a good wool sock, my feet are cold (although dry) in these boots - they're warmer in my Lowa hiking boots. I'll wear them for the deep snow a bit longer, but they'll likely be on eBay for a good discount before too long. Oh, and they run a bit wide - I wear a size 14, length was great, but even with a thick wool sock my feet can move laterally a bit.
I'd also recommend:

I first purchased this same pair from Zappos. I ordered the 9.5 from the reviews I figured I would be safe. They were very narrow and hard to get my foot into. So I returned them. Then it snowed and we got about 20" of snow and they didn't have a size 10. So I came right to Sorel and ordered a size 10 paying about 15$ more from Sorel and No free shipping or returns. The boot I have received are HUGE!!!! I mean a whole 1'' too BIG. already out another 15$ then to return more $$ so I kept them. Since we just got another 26" of Snow. But they make me feel like Frankenstein! I have been a size 10 for ever, I am 5'10" and even for me they are FREAKING HUGE. Which stinks really the 9.5 is way too narrow and the correct size is a monstrosity. Not to mention my toes are cold allot. So good quality wouldn't know, too big kinda cold, slippery on ice. But I needed them and didn't want to dish out another 30$ and wait to return and get another pair. It is pretty sad that they can not regulate the sizing it seems if you have been in business for this long if a woman needs a size 10 it will be a size 10. Makes me sad!!!

My father had a pair for decades. I finally got a pair and within less than about 40 hours of actual wear the rubber started cracking on the sides and bend points of boot. My feet started getting wet from the snow. Not sure when the brand that used to last decades now only lasts months? ONLY reason I gave 2 stars was because they are replacing them. My concern......same issue will come up since it seems to be an obvious manufacture defect. Will change if replacements last longer than a work week without dry rot.

I loved the type of boot as to color and how it looked, however, the boot itself was too large another type of Sorel boot I needed a size 9 which was a great fit in this boot however, the size was very large looking and very big for my feet. The size also looked and felt like it was built for a man.

The style is great but these boots do not protect very well from the cold. My feet get cold and moist when I wear them. I am very disappointed.

Had to return the boot due to size- ran extremely large. Would recommend ordering at least one size, if not 2 sizes, smaller. Seemed like it would have been a nice, albeit heavy, boot.

I bought these b/c i like the idea of inserts. After 2 pregnancies my feet really did grow so i orders a wide shoe. Unfortunately when the boot came it didn't fit... because the boot was way too big and the insert was way too small i couldn't even get my foot in the insert!
so now i'm out 15 bucks b/c i had to return them and i still don't have any boots!! and it's been a heck of winter in the northeast!! Back to LL Bean.
