I had to return these boots for two reasons. First, I wear a size 9, and ordered the boot in that size. It was way too big. Second, the boot is huge, bulky, and very heavy. I do a lot of walking outdoors, and these were too difficult to walk around in.

My daughter's size 12+ feet leave little options for choice when it comes to shoes. We were happy to find these. Plus side: Cute boots for women! And: Sorel had a size 12 boot option, in stock, that didn't look like they were made for transvestites (as you find, if you dare to google women's boots/shoes, size 12 & up). Cannot thank Sorel enough for that option! On the negative: Mfgrs seem to think long equals wide as well..so, while the length works, they are too wide for her normal-width foot, thus they bend on the top of the boot as if there's lots of extra room there, each time she walks. Also, it's hard for her to tighten the boot by pulling the laces because they slip back through before she can tie them well. As a side note re quality: they arrived with a blemish- not cool, considering they were not cheap.

I am a size 10, these looked like a size 14. They were giant! I understand that there needs to be a lot there in order for them to be rated for -40, but I wore them with no sock when it was 25 degrees and for 20 minutes and my toes were frozen. I really can't get over how big they were either, they were bigger than my snowboard boots.

I returned these boots, they were just too clunky and wide for my daughter. She was not happy with the way they fit. Very uncomfortable.

These boots run very big. I am a 7.5 but that size wasn't available so I ordered the 8. Even with thick socks, I am swimming in these. Also, my husband loves his and says they are really warm. My feet are freezing in them.

I wear a 7.5 in all Sorels and I have many pairs. I bought a 7.5 in this boot and I could barely get the liner on my foot and then I couldn't get my foot in the boot. Looks like a great boot if I could get my foot in it. The boot is a 7.5 but the liner and shaft of boot are really narrow. I even took it to REI to see if I was doing something wrong. The worst is now I have to pay for shipping to return and boot that I couldn't even get on and the shipping is really expensive because the boots are heavy.

These boots are really too heavy to trek in the snow for any distance. I wish Zappos carried Cougar boots which are just as warm but much lighter and more comfortable because of their reduced weight.
I'd also recommend:

After three winters of wear I am disappointed with the quality of the boot. The first two years I loved the boot because they were warm with a decent grip while walking (although a bit heavy for street walking an extended length of time). I am into my third year of wearing these boots and the rubber has begun to split at the seam. Furthermore, the rubber at the toes is beginning to crack and the soles of the shoes have lost their grip. In regards to fit, the overall fit is large and loose. I like a spacious boot. However, others may not prefer an overall large boot. Also, in deep fluffy snow the top of the boot may allow snow to slip in as the top is a bit wide. I am about to purchase a pair of Baffin Musher boots, I have a feeling I may like these better. The Baffin's have a nylon top with a drawstring to keep out snow and the boots fasten with buckles rather than laces which are easier to adjust with gloves one.

While these boots are true to size in length, they are very wide in the toe. I actually thought I got mens boots by mistake, but they are marked womens, and the size is correct. They are a huge, bulky pair of boots, and are clumsy and heavy to walk in.
I'd also recommend:
I like the Patagonia Laguno.

I'm not sure if I got a defective pair, but I could barely slide my foot into the boot (which required much effort) and then when I tried to take it off the only way possible was to yank out the entire liner and then slowly peel it off my foot. I have always worn I regular sized 8 (not wide or anything) and these boots were impossible!

Well I spent the whole day at work with a cold wet foot as the right boot leaked water in. I work outdoors and it was raining so It was not comfy at all. Then I had to pack them up and drive to a UPS Store to return them. Was actually disappointed I have bought several sorels over the years and was suprised it was a bad pair. Just waiting when you recieve them back(on their way last week).Since their winter outdoor work boots its important to have a good pair not sure who I will purchase from next. I love your product but am alittle leary of another uncomfortable day.

While these boots were very nice, they were VERY bulky. If I wore them around, my feet would look way too big for my body. The liner was hard to get in and out of the boot. These boots would be great if you are using them for skiing but for walking around campus every day, a bit too much. I will say that they were very nice quality and will last for several years.

This boot looks cute but it is a man's boot, what feels like and looks like they took a man's boot and are selling it as a woman's boot. I wear a 10, the boot was huge and wide, and felt like I had lead feet. If you take out the fur lining than it just rubber inside, it looks cute in the picture but trust me when I say this not a woman's boot. I returned immediately. My husband did like for himself.

I was really excited to get some decent snow boots. When these arrived, they looked awesome, but they are huge! Even with thick socks on my feet are swimming in these. I normally wear a 6.5 so I ordered a 6. My foot was coming up the back, and to try to keep them on I laced them so tight that I was cutting off the circulation to my leg. Yes, they're big and clompy like some of the other reviews state, but my problem is that they didn't come close to fitting. I didn't think going down to a 5 would be a smart move, so these boots are going back. I might try my luck with a more narrow fitting boot.

After wearingand loving my size 7 white Sorel pac-boots for more than 45 years, (worn even this morning, tho' I replaced the liners about 15 years ago.) The soles are starting to wear through the outside rubber at the heels. Ordering a new pair, I thought that a size 8 would be more than big enough. Not so. I couldn't even get the boot all the way on -- and had a heck of a time getting it off my foot. I sent them back, but (1) now unsure about sizing (foot is wide in front, but low volume) and did not really like the black and tan effect for me (combo looks okay for my husband). In addition, I really prefer the flat "crinkled" sole to one with a heel (snow tends to gather up where the sole and heel meet.) I was so disappointed!

I RECENTLY PURCHASED SOME SOREL BOOTS AFTER A CO-WORKER SUNG IT'S PRAISES ON HOW DURABLE AND WORM THE BOOTS ARE. BY-THE-WAY HE'S OWNED THE SAME PAIRS FOR THREE YEARS AND NOW AND CONSIDERING BUYING NEW ONES AND ASKED ME ABOUT MINE. AS A FLIGHT ATTENDANT WITH A PART-TIME JOB AT TRADER JOE'S THESE BOOTS COME IN HANDY FOR US BECAUSE IT GETS COLD IN THAT FREEZER AND FROZEN SECTION OF THE STORE, IN FACT I HAVE HAD A FEW CO-WORKERS COMPLIMENT ME ON MY SOREL. WHAT I AM PERPLEXED ABOUT IS IT IS WORM INDEED BUT I THINK THERE MIGHT BE A DEFECT IN MINE BECAUSE AFTER WEARING THEM IN THE SNOW THE NEXT DAY MY SOCKS AND BOOTS FELT WET INSIDE, BUT SOON DRIED QUICKLY! I THINK THEY MIGHT NOT BE SEALED RIGHT! I WORE THEM AND AM NOT SURE IF I CAN GET THEM EXCHANGED OR LOOKED AT? ANY SUGGESTIONS? NOT QUITE HAPPY WITH MY SORELS AT THE MOMENT!

At first I loved these boots. Bought a pair on Nov 24, now, a little over a month later i'm returning them because they have cracked real bad around the toe area, letting the water in. Bummer, I thought because I spent so much, they would last longer than two months.

I normally wear a size 8.5 and bought the Caribou's in size 8. They are huge! They look like a men's boot (because of the size). I am going to try ordering them in a 7 if I can find them! This is the third pair of Sorel's that I have ordered and sent back now. The Cate The Greats and Joan Of Arctic both run really big as well. You can't beat Zappos 1 day shipping and free returns!

I was very much looking forward to the arrival of these boots. I am a 7.5 and ordered the 8 and the first time I wore them I realized that they were way too big. I really love them but I already wore them and have to keep them but maybe I will find someone that can take them and I can order a size 7. Other than that they really keep your feet warm and dry and they are great in the snow. We just had a snow storm and I wore them to walk around it and it was great except for the fact that they are way too big.

Unfortunately, I had to return the boots. The sizing was wrong for me. The boot with the liner was way too narrow in the ankles and foot. The liner did not sseem to fit the boot. Without the liner, the boots were way too big in the toe area (even with heavy socks or two pairs of socks). The boot itself was great. I wish they had fit.

The shoe was just too much. We had to send it back. My husband was looking for a city snow boot and these boots just took over. You have to wear the pants tucked in and that didn't look good or feel good. We had to pay a huge shipping fee to return them and a small shipping fee to get them. I have been spoiled by the fee-less sites, but they are very convenient when buying shoes that you have never tried on.

I ordered these boots for my husband. He wears a 9 1/2 so I ordered a size 10. He could not even get his foot into the boot. I don't understand why they can't make wide widths. As it turned out, they fit my son fine so I gave them to him and ordered a larger size for my husband and if they don't fit, back they will go

These were so stiff, heavy, and clunky that I think I would have tripped over my own feet if I tried to wear them. Also make your feet look huge. Sent them back.

The good thing: they kept my feet warm. The bad things: they were extremely heavy; made for a much bigger/thicker foot (man's?) - avoid it if you have a slim build. I had no flexibility in my ankle to be able to drive with them on, or walk comfortably/safely. They seem like boots made for a moonwalk. I returned them.
