Before I ordered, I read so many mixed responses about size in the reviews. I think they fit perfect!! They are a little tight getting in on the ankle area...but they are supposed to be to keep the cold out! What many people who haven't owned a pair in the past don't know, is that the liners are like any soft liner. They are nice and snug when they're new, and they break in and form to your feet as you wear them. I am mostly a 7, rarely a 7 1/2, but never an 8. So I ordered a 7 and they fit like a glove! When next winter hits, my feet will be comfy, toasty and dry. Thanks Sorel!

I have been needing winter/snow boots for a long time. I had looked all over and never really found anything that struck me. I finally got onto Sorel's website and found what I was looking for. I love them! They fit right out of the box!! I have since worn them for geocaching and snowshoeing.

I have been coveting my neighbor's boots for a while (& she LOVES hers), so I finally ordered my own. I ordered the gray ones and they look fantastic. My two complaints are 1)The liner is not attached to the boot and I couldn't get my foot in at first. I ended up pulling the liner out, putting my foot into it, THEN inserting it into boot (cumbersome). The actual boot is huge, but the liner fits like a glove. 2) Once I walked around in the boot, the right outer boot began to cut into my ankle. It is probably unique to this boot because of the interior waterproofing and will hopefully loosen up in time as they are worn in. I have a textbook sized 9 foot--not wide, not narrow, just right. I am not returning them because I got them on sale & I've already paid for shipping one way. I am replacing an ancient pair of Columbia boots, which have attached Sherpa liners.

These shoes are great quality and will definitely keep all weather out. However, the shoes are much clunkier than they appear in the picture, i.e. there is a lot of rubber on the bottom, more than it looks like there is. So much so that it effected my walking, I had to return them.

I love these boots, but since I'm an 8 1/2 and there are no half sizes, I sized down to an 8 thinking they would be a bit big and bulky. Plus, my husband has the same boots in size 10, which is his size, but noticed that they ran big on his feet. As a result, I sized down and unfortunately they were too small. I'm sending them back for a 9. Why doesn't Sorel make these in 1/2 sizes?

I just wore my Caribou's for the first time. Temperature was barely in the teens with 8 inches of snow on the ground. I do ministry work. Today I was out walking for a couple of hours and my feet were toasty warm ... just what I was hoping they would be. I have no doubt they will be just as warm in subzero degrees. These boots, when laced up, hugged my leg so no snow got in.
Here is my experience with size. I normally wear a 7 to 7 1/2 and I bought a size 8. Good thing because they just fit. So they run slightly small. The lining makes it moderately hard (I was wearing tights) to get your foot in and out. You also have to hold on to the wooly top of the boot (thats where the lining starts) in order to even get in or out. Since the boot unties and the lining is separate, the lining is a much tighter fit. But then again, that is what keeps your feet toasty warm!

I wish I had carefully read the reviews about the fit before I purchased these boots. They are super cute and high quality, but way too chunky, heavy and big.
I'm a 6.5, but I regularly have to buy a 7 when companies don't carry half sizes. I unfortunately went with the size 7 as usual and I truly regret this now. The boots come with a separate felt boot inside which is smaller and gave me the false impression that the 7 was the right size. However, the lining stretches eventually. Bottom line, after one use my feet were swimming inside and there was no returning at this point. It's very hard to walk with ill-fitted boots that weigh 1 lb each. Not to mention I have to wear them with thick socks which makes my feet sweat and is completely unnecessary since the boots are made for -40F. That's a real shame.
On the positive side, the boots are very cute, warm and extremely well made. My previous Sorel snow boots lasted 8 years of heavy use and I expect these to last as long.

These shoes are very stylish and sturdy and warm, however, they are also very heavy - seems like I'll have to spend my first few snowstorms getting used to walking in them before I feel comfortable.

I've had these boots before and they were great, but these one's leaked immediately, in each boot. Don't waste your money on a boot that does not match it's company's claim to being fully waterproof. From the first time and everytime I wear them in snow, both of my feet become almost instantly soaked.

I bought these boots for ice fishing and so far so good for keeping my feet warm although I haven't been able to test them out in the mid winter temps yet since I bought them late into the season here. I wear a size 12 and even with thick wool socks I still have plenty of room to move my toes around which is very important to keeping your toes warm especially when being on the ice most of the day. The quality of the boot seems good and of course they look great. This is my first pair of Sorels and they always had a good reputation from other ice fisherman, I'm sure I'll enjoy these boots for years to come.

I purchased these boots right before we got hit with a winter storm and I wanted something that would keep me firmly on the ground, warm and dry and that would allow me to wear my work trousers easily. These boots delivered. The are totally toasty and waterproof and I didn't feel like I was slipping. I wear a 10 and my feet are slightly narrow but they were great. There's room enough to wear heavier socks or fit a M to W foot. My only issue is that they can be heavy but you can really bust through the slush and snow while feeling safe; it's worth the extra weight.

I am very pleased with my new boots! They are warmer than I expected which is great but that means I have a little wiggle room since I sized them with larger socks on. I wear them every day and my feet stay dry and warm every time, and I live in MN. My only complaint is they're hard to drive in. :)

I read the reviews before purchasing boots for my wife. I have Sorel boots that I bought in 2012 and I love them, they fit perfectly. Other reviews on the woman's boot said they were very difficult to put on and take off. Luckily my wife has a small foot and ankle/calf or else we would have to return this boot as well. I just don't understand how so many people can have the same issue yet Sorel hasn't made the necessary changes. The boot is tight on my wife by she is going to put up with it. Its not actually the boot but the insert that is the issue. Why won't someone take the bull by the horns and fix this??

Great style, great fit, great value! GREAT! Time tested, always the highest quality. Fits like a glove. This is the 3rd pair of Sorels I own. All different styles of course. The warmest, driest boot for all types of environments.

I have always wanted a pair of caribous - i knew from friends that once you buy a pair they are yours for life. These boots are awesome, love the color (tusk), the construction is top notch...BUT - they are absolutely HUGE. I am a true size 8 and have never had size issues with Sorels before (I own several different styles). When I pulled them out of the box and tried them on I thought I had ordered a men's 8 by accident. They were a woman's 8 but I should have gotten a size 7...especially when I know they will pack out over time. My heels rise up out of the heel cup, my toes are swimming the in the toe box...you get the idea. I wore them with my thick Smartwool snowboarding socks and still felt like I was clunking around in them. Already wore them outside so I can't return them...will most likely give them to a friend with bigger feet.

My whole family wears these boots, mens, womens and the kids.
They are truly the best for wet winter wear.
We used to be able to buy them locally but no more. So glad to have found your website.

I bought a pair for my girlfriend. She needed a waterproof, winter boot with a high traction sole to walk our dogs in the mountains around Park City, UT. She chose the Men's Caribou because they're have the 'dimpled' sole and are about 1 inch taller than the Women's Caribou and offered a bit of extra room for warm socks.
So far, she's very happy with gray color, the high traction, and warm toes. In the future I might give them 5 stars, but can't until we can evaluate their longevity.

These boots are great. Only issue was the sizing -- if in doubt when ordering, size slightly larger than you think you need. I'm usually a 7, but my toes are right at the end of these boots (without thick socks).

I purchased these for a trip to Vermont and to have a decent pair of snow boots when shoveling snow - it seems to be snowing much more here in NJ than last year. I am so used to shoveling in rain boots that allow my feet to freeze and hurt after 10 minutes, even with thick socks on. When I wore these, they kept my feet warm all day. They run a little big. I usually range between a 7.5 and an 8. I ordered an 8 and found them still a little roomy. The only thing I didn't like was that they were heavy, but that could be because I'm used to wearing cheap rain boots. If you're looking for a boot to keep your feet warm in the cold weather, I definitely recommend these.
