Quality is garbage. I got these shoes five months ago and wore them maybe every other day on average. The uppers are already tearing from the sole and the suede is tearing where the laces pull on the eyelets. I've never gone through another pair of shoes so quickly. I guess they're still good for yard work or something, assuming they don't disintegrate next time I'm outside in a stiff breeze.

I have been wearing New Balance 574s for years now. I cannot find a better price or selection of colors and sizes anywhere else. Shipping was free, I ordered them Thursday morning and got them the next day. I love the shoes and I love the service!

I have large flat feet and these shoes provide excellent support with a very attractive style. Easily one of my all time favorite pairs of shoes. True to size and extremely comfortable.

I wore these once, literally. Normal day at my office job. When I got home I noticed a huge tear on the side of the shoe, not induced by anything I could assure you. The outer material looked like it had worn out and ripped open. Terrible. I live in Dubai and returning the shoe would cost me more in shipping charges than I originally paid for it. My first New Balance pair and I think my last for sure.

Shoes were nice as described but most of all I was beyond impressed by the speed of delivery for the initial purchase as well as the exchange. We were so thankful for the ease of the exchange process for a wider size shoe. Thanks so much Zappos!

Quite red. More red than burgundy, I'd say. I pretty much only wear new balances though, so I def recommend any color.

I love this style of shoe. The only thing I dislike is that I can never get them in my width. I'm not sure if they aren't made in my width, or just always sold out. Regardless, I still purchase them a size small just to have them.

Kind of a cool shoe. I'd gone over to the New Balance minimus trail shoe for an everyday walk around with jeans and liked the feel, but it is so perforated that was always getting dust and sand or whatever in it. And it didn't look all that cool with jeans, plus not much protection if you kick or drop something. I run in minimus and can't beat them for that, and they have a nice ground feel when I go photo shooting, but otherwise not an everyday jean shoe. With the surfeit of weird colors and styles that are now the trend, the best I could find was between the cool retro Onitsuka Tigers and these 574's. Since the minimal style didn't do it for me anymore, I rolled the dice on the 574's as they had a touch more boot look to them than the more form-fitting tigers. Got the black because I live in L.A. (joke) and they go well with jeans. Also, as a photog, I don't like big bright shoes when I'm sneaking up on someone. Out the box they fit perfect, and surprisingly were quite comfortable (surprising as I was used to paying lots more for decent trainers, like Air Max's and the like). They did look a bit too much like a long balloon on my foot, but I tightened the laces to where they should be, and used the ankle lace holes, and it gave them more of a shoe/climber boot look. They are a bit more substantial with my jeans, don't look so much like slippers, and I can tell they will be more protective as I'm walking about aiming the camera, or if I have to help someone move and drop something on my foot as I did in the minimus and regretted it. They do look pretty cool with jeans, very much that retro athletic look I had in high school wearing the Adidas Romas. As they break in with walking I'm sure they will lose the balloon look altogether, and have that track shoe/climber shoe quality they give off in the online pictures to some extent. For the price I don't think they can be beat. One of the few styles these days that doesn't have wings, bizarro sole technologies that seem like a moon shoe, or colors that look like Walt Disney threw up on them. Can't think of a negatory thing to say. Will note that I have always been the guy to get the expensive technical athletic shoe in black to use as a everyday kick around shoe. Like the very cool Salomon trail shoes that looked amazing in online pictures and turned out to be more akin to moon boots. Most technical shoes I forked over the cash for didn't offer more in comfort than these 574's, and tended to wear the wearer rather than look like a true sport shoe without taking over. If you like the '70s and '80s colors and different fabrics, these offer the choices. I'm glad they had them in black. My only request is to make them in a non-suede full on black and they'd be perfect. The non-suede black they have now has white soles and other white accents looking okay, but not the full on black us sophisticated egos in L.A. want. Great shoe.

These shoes are baller...in an old man "I don't give a f " kind of way. Can't go wrong with them. The ladies love them too. I had to order a size up from my regular shoe though. I am always a 13 but the 13's felt like my feet were Bound 2 like Kimye. So either they run small or my feet are growing at age 27, which I suppose is possible. 14's feel great.

Shoes fell apart quickly. Little to no breathability, heels lack lumbar support for standing all day. Soles squeak constantly. Very disappointed.

I originally ordered a size 14 which was too tight. Returned them for a size 15. Those were way to large. Finally ordered a 14 wide and that did the trick, they fit perfect. Great looking shoe, I'm glad I went through the process of finding the right fit.

I'm happy New Balance continues to produce this classic line of year after year. The fit is perfect. There light, durable and the style is timeless. Well done.

These shoes are nice. They feel like asics but have more toe room which is great. My only complaint is the right shoe has squeaked upon stepping since I bought them and it has not gone away still. They don't come with a second set of laces, even though another review said they do. I was really disappointed when I found out mine didn't, and I wish zappos would do a better job to remove that review as it provides false information.

This shoe is very comfortable. Not heavy or clunky. It is the exact type of shoe I was looking for. Zappos had a very good price.

Love this model of NB, this will be my 4th pair. I just reorder them each time I wear the old pair out. They are extremely comfortable and the old school NB style is awesome. The fist is great and show offers a lot of support and a secure fit without being too tight.

These shoes are extremely comfortable and stylish and on top of that not pricey at all. I cannot really ask for much more than that. Get a pair now!

My husband has wide and hard to fit feet. It is hard to find a sturdy, stylish and comfortable everyday sneaker or shoe but this one met and exceeded all expectations. He put them on for the first time the morning of our cross country trip from LA to Maine. Anyone who has been to LAX, or Detroit airports knows that there is a lot of walking to get anywhere and he had zero issues (other than me). They were comfortable from Los Angeles to Maine and that was a long day! Approximately 13 hours in his new shoes and all was great.

I normally wear a men's 7 4E in a running shoe. Some of the reviewers here indicated that the shoes were not overly wide, so I went up a half size and ordered a 7.5 4E. It was so tight I realized there was no way I could wear it. Then I ordered an 8 4E. That was also too tight. My conclusion: If you have very wide feet, these shoes are not going to work for you. It's a shame, because they look nice and are not expensive.

A bit narrower in the toe box than I would have liked but they work well. My orthotics fit and they're pretty lightweight. I've gotten a handful of compliments on them, too!

I bought these for my son, and he said they were really comfortable. He wears them for work, as he is on his feet a lot and needs shoes that give him good support and comfort.

It is a little hard to tell from the pictures, but this shoe has a plastic piece wrapping around the heel directly above the sole. This was especially pronounced and shiny on the pair of shoes I ordered, which had that section colored white. For me, the shoe ran about half a size small, but seemed reasonably comfortable on first wear. Mine came with white laces on the shoe, with a set of grey laces in the box. It was nice of New Balance to include a second set. Overall, if you don't mind the somewhat chunky looking plastic bit on the back, just order a half size up, and you'll be fine.

The shoes are very good quality and are decent on wet surfaces. They are extremely stylish. The sole are plain so if you have a rough time with plain buy some separately.
