Shoes fell apart quickly. Little to no breathability, heels lack lumbar support for standing all day. Soles squeak constantly. Very disappointed.

As someone with a wide foot, New Balance was always a shoe of choice for me. I have a pair of trainers and tennis shoes from them, and both fit perfectly. But more and more, New Balance's "wide"... not so much. I tried on a pair of 574's in 12D at a local store, and they almost fit. So I was sure the EE would be perfect. Bizarrely... they seemed to be NARROWER than the D's I tried on in the store. I'm 0 for my last 4 or so on New Balance... been availing myself of Zappos' amazing logistics to return a lot of shoes lately.

The right shoe started to acquire random holes in it. One by the toe, another by the left logo, and the last right on the seam next to the sole. It's weird this happened because I've had an older pair of New Balance shoes last me 6 years before it started falling apart.

Returned. First day I wore them outside in sprinkles. That night I noticed the red had bled onto the white shoestrings and my socks. That doesn't work for me.

These shoes are retro stylish but poorly made. I've worn them on and off for about a month. I noticed the other day that the sole of the toe was starting to peel off the footbed. Not good. The heel ion the right shoe s starting to look suspect as well. Bottom line: Good price, marginal quality.

Although these shoes are wide, the forefoot is narrow and the heel is wide, so my foot is pinched in front and sliding around in back. These shoes have a very poor fit, I wouldn't recommend them.

Very cool looking shoe. But I have a wide foot and always wear a 2E New Balance. The 2E is more like a normal width. Unfortunately I can't wear them.

Have been buying New Balance from Zappos for almost 10 years, got the Army Green M574 when it was on sale. Had them for only six months and the suede upper tore at the seam with the sole. Very disappointed.

These shoes are stylish, but I can\'t say much else for them. There is essentially zero support and the cushioning leaves much to be desired. I\'ll be surprised if I use these longer than 6 months, and that\'s just so I don\'t feel like I threw money away.

My son bought these shoes. His first purchase through Zappos and he was pleased with the product and the price!

SLIP AN FALL HAZARD...........DO NOT BUY
These shoes were a gift.
I have slipped three times and almost fallen on wet surfaces.
THESE SHOES SHOULD RECALLED BY NEW BALANCE.

Easily the most uncomfortable pair of tennis shoes I’ve ever owned. Left blisters on the bottoms of my feet and rubbed the tops of my pinky toes raw.

Though I generally like New Balance shoes, the specific pair I received turned out to be somewhat defective. I've had them for 6 months but only wear them occasionally. Nonetheless, the sole on the right shoe is tearing apart from the seam, something I've only seen happen in very cheaply made shoes. Zappos customer service said they wouldn't replace the shoe because I've worn it. New Balance said they wouldn't replace the shoe because I've had it longer than a month. It's frustrating to spend money on a product that was poorly made, and then have the two companies that should be backing up their product refuse to replace it.

I'm so disappointed with these. My son has been wearing them for 5 weeks and the suede strip on the toe is completely ripping open/tearing away from the nylon below. These are very poor quality. He has worn a different style of NB that has never done this. I won't buy this style again.

I've been buying NB 574's in US men's 10.5 for too long to remember. It's such that I can fly blind on Zappos all day long and know that when they arrive, they'll fit exactly like every other pair I own. I also have found that when NB lists as size as "wide" or "EE", about 90%-95% of the time I go down to a 10 and the shoes still fit exactly as I would expect them to. These were way too narrow for my feet, which, on a Brannock measure about ~9.5 4E. I'm not sure if their sizing convention changed or if they're experimenting with new lasts on the wide 574's but I've come to find that I simply can't wear these. Bummer too, 'cause I really love the color despite being reminded of their Seahawks-like flavor.

The EE size seemed narrower than most D size shoes. The footbed, too, was very narrow, precluding the use of any standard orthotic. New Balance seems to have radically altered their sizings, and I can no longer find a size that fits.
I'd also recommend:

I ordered 9½EE. I have other New Balance shoes with this size and they fit perfectly. The New Balance shoes that I received, though, were very uncomfortable in length and width.

I am shocked to see the 5 star reviews on this shoe! I purchased these for my son to wear with his school uniform because we have had much success with comfort and quality of New Balance shoes in the past. These shoes, however, were a great disappointment. Within 6 weeks of wear, the sole at the toe began to separate. I assumed this was just a flawed pair (it happens, right?). Zappos excellent customer service replaced the shoes with no hassle. The second pair lasted a bit longer, but, after 3 months or so, we had the exact same problem! I did not bother calling Zappos customer service again, but I will definitely not repurchase these again! Maybe we just had bad luck, but I would not recommend these for long-term durability.

New Balance tennis shoes received in 2 days (yea!), but too tight. I ordered width size 2E, which is typically just perfect for my feet. These, however, were too tight. I'll return them and order a larger size (or wider, if available).

New Balance's quality control has gotten worse and worse. NB Regular width used to fit me fine. But with the last pair I bought, I needed EE width. This time, I ordered the EE width and although clearly marked EE, it fits like a narrow, and pinches terribly. I'm a fairly slender guy and don't have big wide feet. What is NB doing?

Quality is garbage.
I got these shoes five months ago and wore them maybe every other day on average. The uppers are already tearing from the sole and the suede is tearing where the laces pull on the eyelets. I've never gone through another pair of shoes so quickly.
I guess they're still good for yard work or something, assuming they don't disintegrate next time I'm outside in a stiff breeze.

I wore these once, literally. Normal day at my office job. When I got home I noticed a huge tear on the side of the shoe, not induced by anything I could assure you. The outer material looked like it had worn out and ripped open. Terrible. I live in Dubai and returning the shoe would cost me more in shipping charges than I originally paid for it. My first New Balance pair and I think my last for sure.

I normally wear a men's 7 4E in a running shoe. Some of the reviewers here indicated that the shoes were not overly wide, so I went up a half size and ordered a 7.5 4E. It was so tight I realized there was no way I could wear it. Then I ordered an 8 4E. That was also too tight.
My conclusion: If you have very wide feet, these shoes are not going to work for you. It's a shame, because they look nice and are not expensive.

The shoe looks ugly after a few wears! The color has faded, the shape has changed and the stitching near the toe has come out! Total failure and will never buy NB again! They use to make quality footwear but not anymore!

These were absolutely NOT true to size; I'm a 7 in every shoe I wear, but these stupid things were easily 2 sizes too small. Just once I'd like a brand to release smaller sizes that aren't just scaled down versions of big shoes.
