This shoe is about as amazing as they get. I use these shoes nearly daily and they haven't failed me. I don't know if it’s the shoe or my increased proficiency at tying my shoes with age, but they have only come untied once in like 6 months. Also, the N is shiny but only at a weird specific angle, sort of like angling your watch into someone’s eye; pretty sweet looking when it’s seen, though. Really durable. And two colors for laces with the shoe? Get outta here... get this shoe. Stop reading reviews and get it.

I chose the navy and white ones over the grey, because the grey is really a weird brown that has a hard time matching with anything. I don't know why they don't just call them beige or something. My biggest worry before ordering this shoe is that it would be a different shade of blue than in the photo. Online shopping is funny like that, sometimes they'll Photoshop the pictures to make them look amazing, but often the colors are really drab. Much to my surprise, and sheer happiness, they look identical to the pictures. Nice rich navy color, and they even come with two sets of laces. Puma used to make a shoe called the Cabana Racer II, and they made special ones for American Eagle that were navy and white and grey and white. You can't find them anymore, and these shoes are a perfect alternative for guys that wants a good pair of cool shoes to knock around in. They go good with dark jeans, and even provide arch support and comfort for your feet if you're doing some walking around. Size is true, but they definitely are a little narrower than I expected.Good for me since I have narrow feet and most shoes are pretty wide. I'd say go wider if you feel like normal shoes are too narrow. If not, these will provide great support!

As a Healthcare Worker who is Constantly on my Feet and walks Appx 8-15 miles in any given 8-12 hour shift, I can say that these shoes are an excellent choice. Although I have my own custom orthotics, they're only as good as the shoes that they're in. These shoes are very comfortable, break-in very quickly, and are also lightweight. I would recommend them to anyone who understands the value of taking care of their feet.

It's a great shoe, but it's narrower than you'd think. I can wear a Sketchers 12 Wide, but the 12 wide New Balance was far too narrow. Once you get the size that fits it's a great shoe though.

I used to wear the 993's but I saw these and tried them out. They are comfortable and the look really great. They are tough and durable. I wear them at work and I stand on my feet all of the time. You won't go wrong with these shoes. I highly recommend them.

Super comfy shoes that are great for anyone looking for great cushioning in a wide shoe. I would not recommend them for running, due to the design and weight of the shoe, but are good for city walking.

I absolutely love my new kicks! I ordered them 1.5 sizes smaller as Zappos suggested, since I'm a woman. I think these shoes are great for men and women alike. Super cute and definitely comfortable! I've had these a few weeks now and wear them about 5 days a week between an office job and standing on concrete in the studio and at the dance club. They broke in quickly and easily. There is a little extra room in the toe but my feet don't slide around - I don't think I would order a half size smaller because the width feels good at this size. I wouldn't mind more arch support, but I probably need orthopedic insoles after years of track spikes causing damage to my feet. I'll be buying more pairs of these sneakers in other colors!

The M574 offers classic New Balance style, comfort, and utility. This shoe is appropriate for so many everyday occasions. They're great in the gym (though I prefer Asics), at the bar, in the car, etc. When the dress code is loose casual, don the M574.

The shoe came perfect but after 2 days it split on the upper side. I called Zappos and the happily sent me a new pair the next day with a return shipping box. Service is astonishing.

I have very wide feet and I rarely find shoes that feel comfortable on my feet right out of the box. In the past I have encountered shoes that are billed as the wide width variety, but when put to the test would quite possibly require days or weeks of wear in order to break in. Shoes that feel too tight or too restrictive when I first put them on are not for me at all. I for one do not have the time or wherewithal to go through a "break in" process and typically stick to shoe brands that best accommodate my feet. Whether you are looking for an affordable yet comfortable shoe for everyday use, or for a shoe to wear to the gym, look no further than the New Balance Classics M574. They are great shoe to wear right out of the box and the retro look and feel makes them even more attractive in my humble opinion. I would definitely recommend this shoe to anyone seeking a product endorsement.

These are great shoes. My son wears a size 15 so it is difficult to find nice shoes for him. These are true to size and look great.

I got a pair of these and they fit great! What gets me is how fast you get them. I ordered them on Wed. approx. 4:30 and had them the next day. It's like Santa magic. Zappos you rock!

Amazing! Shoes felt great and I received my shoes very fast. The size was wrong but the next day I received my new size shoes and they were perfect.

Great shoe. Cool retro look. The shoe is more light brown than gray, however. Great NB fit, very light weight and comfortable.

I ordered these for my husband for Christmas, as they are his favorite style of shoe. They arrived within two days, and look great. He wears them often, and says they are very comfortable. This is probably the fifth or sixth pair of these shoes in this style that he owns, because he likes them so much.

Very comfortable shoe, great arch support. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis (34 years old), bought these the same week, and within two weeks of wearing these my foot was back to normal. I am not a runner, but I do a fair amount of walking at work. I have gotten compliments from friends and coworkers too. Go ahead and buy them already!

These were a present for my father who loves this style and they were a replacement for the ones he had worn out. They are his favorite brand/style. He was very happy that I could find them.

This is my first new balance shoe and I love them. I got them cuz I remembered my dad work a similar pair in the 80's. The look is vintage and awesome, and they are extremely comfortable.
