Bought these from Zappos over a year ago. Took a VERY long time to get used to the toe separator, even though I've had no problems with other thong shoes. In fact, initially, it hurt my left big toe, and metatarsal immediately above it, so much I thought I'd not be able to wear them (major, sharp, deep pain, which I might only feel the next day, when I put these back on). Kept 'em as I'd already worn them outside. Got used to them very, very, VERY gradually, over the course of 6-7 months. I'd wear them after work for an hour, a few hours, then skip a day, skip several days to a week, or even skip several weeks, (till pain went away), etc. Finally could tolerate them all day, every day. Now I think they're the most comfy shoes I own. They don't put pressure on my bunion like my Florida’s--which I've had for 13 years, repairing as necessary--sometimes do, when I have "flare-ups." I want to recommend these wholeheartedly, but find it hard because of the ridiculously long time it took me to get used to them. Some people have no problems with the Gizeh thong; some have minor, some have major. Remember, as with all Birks, the Narrow is actually B, or "regular" width, and their Regular is for those with truly wide feet. I feel the Gizeh looks better on those with narrow feet and ankles than the styles with horizontal straps.

Don’t give up - When I started wearing the shoes, they rubbed between my toes and gave me little blisters. Now I wear them every day. Don't give up even though they take a good 2 weeks to break in. I even crave wearing them after work for their comfort!

Great shoes! This is my first Birk experience. So far, I've been very pleased. The contoured sole cradles my arch and provides excellent support. There are a few days of break-in time. However, shortly after I purchased these shoes, I wore them all around the National Mall for July 4th celebrations. They were great. I purchased both the 36 medium and 36 narrow to compare sizes. The narrow was perfect on my foot. I normally wear a six 6 but the 36 (5.5-6 equivalent) fit perfectly. Of course, Zappos service was divine.

Birkenstock Gizeh - I love these shoes! I have wide, short feet and knee/ankle problems. I live in New York, so I walk everywhere. I needed a supportive but cute shoe - something I could wear with skirts and pants. I got the Gizeh in shiny black leather in the regular width. They look great! I wore them right out of the box, and they only rubbed a bit (not terribly) at my arch for the first day (I walked at least two miles that day). Ever since then, I've barely even taken them off to sleep, I love them so much. I don't know how I lived without them!

Gizeh is very cute. The hard plastic between the toes took some getting used to, but these quickly became comfy and easy to walk in. After reading other reviews regarding size, I was concerned my regular 39 would be too big, but it fit just fine. The regular width seems a little narrower in this style than in other Birkenstocks I have (the Arizona, in particular). Overall, I like the styling, fit and comfort.

Great shoes - I bought the shoes for my daughter who is pregnant. She loves them. They are so comfortable and give her foot much support. The quality is great.

Style, comfort & durability - This is my 2nd pair of Gizeh and as usual I couldn't be happier. My first pair is almost 3 years old and I still love them. As with my other Birkenstocks, what you pay is what you get. Very comfortable and stylish. Durability is guaranteed.

I heart Birkenstocks!! They were a little bit bigger than I had hoped but I should have ordered a size down (leather stretches apparently.) but they are really great and look awesome with a casual suite to wear to work in the summer.

Comfort and Slimming - I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Gizeh wasn't bulky, but was slimming. Also very comfortable but I found that I fit better in a size larger lengthwise.

Great Shoes - Great shoes! No problems with fit, size, or toe separator. I wish I would have bought them in the beginning of summer!

Love these Birks! These are my second pair of Gizeh, and I love them. Totally comfortable, stylish (at least to me!), and easy to walk around in (you don't have to try to keep them on your feet like some other Birks). My only complaint is the weird tan line I now have on my feet!

Gizeh - my summer staple - I wore my previous pair to death over four or five summers, so this was a replacement pair. I love these shoes! I can wear them with anything. They instantly dress up my casual outfits, but add a casual flair to my dressier ones.

Great Shoes - I have worn Birkenstocks for 20 years, love them. The Gizeh's are very cute.

I was surprised that the toe strap/separator was made out of hard plastic; I thought that it would be made of leather or at least covered in a softer material. It doesn't seem to be uncomfortable, though. Birkenstocks *do* tend to run a bit large, but there should be some wiggle room in the shoes for when you walk around. I had a pair of Birkenstocks that I got in Germany that were a size 40, I ordered the same size here and they didn't fit as well. Maybe the sizing is a bit different (larger) in the shoes that are made for export? The shoes are comfortable but do take some breaking in. Once you break them in you won't want to wear anything else!

Good - At last a shoe I can wear without pain. Comfortable from the first time I had them on and took a walk.

Runs Huge - According to the size chart and ones on other sites a US 8 is Birkenstock 39. I ordered some from another site recently and a 39 is huge on my foot. I felt like I was putting my foot into a size 10 shoe. I will agree that narrow is really a regular and the regular width is really wide. My foot was swimming in the shoe. I didn't notice anything overwhelmingly comfortable about it. I think I would probably take a 37 or 38 in this shoe. It's at least 3 inches too large in length and 1-2 inches too large in width.

Love my Birks! Even though there are hundreds of different sandals out there, I always return to Birkenstock. Had to get this shoe in Black as I already have a pair in bronze. They are so kind to your foot and look so good at the same. I recommend them to everyone!

Great shoes - beware sizing guidelines! I was sooo confused when I went to order these shoes. So I decided to take a chance and order the 36 regular - despite Zappo's recommendations. I originally wear a 6 1/2, and the 36's are fine. But I should have ordered the narrow. I've always worn a medium to wide, but the Birkenstock regular is really wide. The 36R doesn't look funny, thank heavens - so I'll keep the 36R.

Comfortable and versatile - Great summer shoes that can go from work to club to Saturday errands. They take some breaking in - both the footbed, which is a bit stiff, and the thick leather straps, but like all Birkenstocks, once you're past that point, they're incredibly comfortable. I wear a 39 in my other Birkie sandals and clogs, and these were perfect in a 39 as well.

Great sandals - These are great sandals. They are comfortable with really exceptional arch support. They are a lot better looking on than more traditional Birkenstocks. This is the 3rd pair I have of the Gizeh.

The Birkenstock Gizeh - I absolutely love these sandals. They are very stylish and comfortable and they give you superb arch support. I personally feel they run true to size and I intend to order them in more colors.

Order 2 sizes down! These are not quite as comfortable as the Arizona’s for me (the toe thong is a bit too tall - so not as snug a fit), however they look INFINITELY more stylish and so for that reason I am willing to endure the (relative) pain. Note that these run VERY large - I normally wear a Euro 39 (US 8-8.5), but in these I fit a 37!

Excellent! Tempted to give comfort a 5 - the toe thing always gets to me a little, but as toe things go, this was by far the most comfortable. Have gotten lots of compliments, and absolutely love them.
